1. I'm having the drum mics - what a bargain!! Andy is most pleasant to deal with.
2.
there are quite a few amps out there with a poweramp in.
Heh, yeh, just a few!!!
3.
Thats really cool. I'm going to start linking some amps as soon as I get home Stupid question - but am I right in thinking that if you then took a DI from the LM, you'd get a blend of the two amp sounds to FOH? And can you control that blend somehow?
It wouldn't be a blend, it would be the sound of the LB driving the LM, a signal in series, not parallel. You might get some interesting distortion by driving the LM but I doubt it!
4. if the amp has more than one input (lots of active and passive, hi and lo) or an effects return, you could plug your CD player into one of these and it will just mix with your bass sound.
5.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Peavey-115-TNT-Bass-...a9#ht_500wt_947 That'll do your Reggae and deal with volume but not light at all. No inputs either still that's what I'd get.
a beast!! You could plug the CD player into one of the bass inputs, or maybe the FX return. It also has a pre-amp out (I think) which could do for headphones.
6. We played a "festival" on Saturday. My bassist (playing drums in this) is a teacher, and one of his students put on a big 2 day thing at a rugby club with the help of his mum. They had about 100 tents there and loads of teenage types, but having spent £20 to get in, they mostly just sat by their tents getting wasted, not watching the bands. Nevermind, there were about 30 in front of the stage for our set which was the most they'd seen all weekend. I've never seen so many 6th formers in short-shorts.
7. the muse messageboard automatically cuts off your signiature no matter what's in it.
8. I really want it but the petrol will cost as much!
9. bump for website and a cool new video. creepjoint.co.uk
10. I never noticed because I never used the master volume! Each effect has it's own level which I set to match each other. I can see why a master volume would be useful though.
11. That's weird, but how many patches do you have? You could just bring down all the levels? I just had a look at the manual and it doesn't make it clear.
12. Oh my mate (I think he's Magwrotten on here) reckons he has a really cool synthy envelope follower patch on it. I haven't bothered pursuing it as I have another 10 pedals I use for that kind of funk, but yeh, it must be possible.
13. I couldn't find a great synth sound, but I only tried for a few minutes. I actually like the modulations but find you have to use the EQ on everything to get it sounding right. Delay is fun too
14. very nice. What do you use on the zoom?
15. At first I thought his right hand was just totally regular going very fast (far too fast for me) but now i'm pretty sure it's not. Arrgh. If only there was a video of him playing it
16.
Yeah, recording to a PC would be nice, but I like having a certain amount of portability, so I'd need to invest in a laptop, some kind of multi-channel interface, etc etc. Not sure exactly how much all that would run to, but it's almost certainly more than it's worth to me. Could do the reverb at mix-down and the compression while tracking, but I'm not sure that it makes a difference in terms of finding the right piece of hardware for the job. S.P.
No it doesn't make a difference which is why I apologised for my irrelevant post That VMS looks very nice. It could be a nicer pre-amp than whatever you're at the moment too. FWIW I carry my PC around 'cos I can't afford a laptop setup.
17. why would you want a 100% wet signal? Well, if you want to add the compression after recording I suppose. EDIT: I mean if you do your compression as you're tracking, you could use your FX bus at whatever mix level you want for the reverb - no? Anyway, this doesn't help with your query. I was hoping you'd say "no, recording to a PC" in which case I could recommend plug-ins.

Big Muff

I think the "with tone wicker" has a switch to bypass the tone stack, which could help with bass response. The bass big muff is pretty good. There's also the black russian big muff. However, the big muff is a very old simple circuit and there must be 100s of different big muffs around with different names. I have a "blue beaver", which is quite nice, but I think I prefer the EH bass big muff (which is fairly new).
19. yeh, how are you recording? Straight to tape or something?
20. heh, the problem is i'm not sure where the ghost notes are. I'm listening but it's too hard to tell, even when I slow the track down. I can play the main riff, but i'm missing most of the ghosts so it doesn't sounds right. I might have a clip of me playing it at home I can upload later to give you a better idea.
21. For a band website, it's pretty simple isn't it? just a home page with a link to your myspace for listening to demos, a short description of the band, a photo gallery, contact info. What else do you need? I haven't bothered with the meta tags etc yet but creepjoint.co.uk took about 10 minutes on a Sunday afternoon. It's not really an example of a site we're trying to market the band through (just a simple place to get to all our other pages) but I think it has all the basics you need.
22. They've held shipments for me for work before if the codes aren't supplied on the paperwork - they call up and demand the correct codes. I didn't know they could just make an arbitrary judgment.
23. I think mentioning the shape of the guitar would help your sale.
24. make a wood case, or find an appropriate metal or plastic box.
25. if two have a black line where they have broken, and the other two don't have the black line, surely that means they're slightly different models and the likelyhood is that whatever this black line is, it's a weakness? I know nothing about speakers though.
