1. That's weird, but how many patches do you have? You could just bring down all the levels? I just had a look at the manual and it doesn't make it clear.
2. Oh my mate (I think he's Magwrotten on here) reckons he has a really cool synthy envelope follower patch on it. I haven't bothered pursuing it as I have another 10 pedals I use for that kind of funk, but yeh, it must be possible.
3. I couldn't find a great synth sound, but I only tried for a few minutes. I actually like the modulations but find you have to use the EQ on everything to get it sounding right. Delay is fun too
4. At first I thought his right hand was just totally regular going very fast (far too fast for me) but now i'm pretty sure it's not. Arrgh. If only there was a video of him playing it
5.
Yeah, recording to a PC would be nice, but I like having a certain amount of portability, so I'd need to invest in a laptop, some kind of multi-channel interface, etc etc. Not sure exactly how much all that would run to, but it's almost certainly more than it's worth to me. Could do the reverb at mix-down and the compression while tracking, but I'm not sure that it makes a difference in terms of finding the right piece of hardware for the job. S.P.
No it doesn't make a difference which is why I apologised for my irrelevant post That VMS looks very nice. It could be a nicer pre-amp than whatever you're at the moment too. FWIW I carry my PC around 'cos I can't afford a laptop setup.
6. why would you want a 100% wet signal? Well, if you want to add the compression after recording I suppose. EDIT: I mean if you do your compression as you're tracking, you could use your FX bus at whatever mix level you want for the reverb - no? Anyway, this doesn't help with your query. I was hoping you'd say "no, recording to a PC" in which case I could recommend plug-ins.

Big Muff

I think the "with tone wicker" has a switch to bypass the tone stack, which could help with bass response. The bass big muff is pretty good. There's also the black russian big muff. However, the big muff is a very old simple circuit and there must be 100s of different big muffs around with different names. I have a "blue beaver", which is quite nice, but I think I prefer the EH bass big muff (which is fairly new).
8. yeh, how are you recording? Straight to tape or something?
9. heh, the problem is i'm not sure where the ghost notes are. I'm listening but it's too hard to tell, even when I slow the track down. I can play the main riff, but i'm missing most of the ghosts so it doesn't sounds right. I might have a clip of me playing it at home I can upload later to give you a better idea.
10. For a band website, it's pretty simple isn't it? just a home page with a link to your myspace for listening to demos, a short description of the band, a photo gallery, contact info. What else do you need? I haven't bothered with the meta tags etc yet but creepjoint.co.uk took about 10 minutes on a Sunday afternoon. It's not really an example of a site we're trying to market the band through (just a simple place to get to all our other pages) but I think it has all the basics you need.
11. They've held shipments for me for work before if the codes aren't supplied on the paperwork - they call up and demand the correct codes. I didn't know they could just make an arbitrary judgment.
12. make a wood case, or find an appropriate metal or plastic box.
13. if two have a black line where they have broken, and the other two don't have the black line, surely that means they're slightly different models and the likelyhood is that whatever this black line is, it's a weakness? I know nothing about speakers though.
14.
On most electric basses, you can get the db effect by playing over the end of the fingerboard and backing off the tone control. Add flatwounds for full effect.
yeh, it's weird no-one else has mentioned this, it really does work.
15. I like limiters after compressors. You can use the compressor with a longer attack time to give a proper punchy sound, but then tame the peaks with a limiter. If you tame the peaks before the compressor, I would imagine you wouldn't get the same punch, but TBH i've never tried it.
16. Cool! I got a SL-20 recently, it's load of fun!
17. My ex had a Kay guitar that was just as thin. I quite liked it really.
18. I use mine in conjunction with lots of other pedals. I have 3 main reasons I bought it, and it might seem a bit overkill, but.. 1. A general overdrive patch which I can switch instantly from to.. 2. A digital delay + pedal wah patch (which would take a wah, delay, and TB loop to do) 3. and a Phaser/OD patch with the EXP pedal controlling the rate (which would take a phaser and one of those weird EXP pedal sucker thingies).
19.
5. If they are selling a Warwick Streamer P-Nut bass (insert bass model of your choice), put that title into the image search of a couple of search engines (Google etc.) and see if the image of the bass appears, the more time you have to check past the first page the better. 6. Do a search for the identical item in any online auction or sale sites (eBay, Craigslist, Gumtree, SuperAds etc.) you’d be amazed how often scammers just get images and descriptions from sales and post them verbatim.
There's a tool here tineye.com which lets you do a "reverse image search". It's down at the moment, but if this is stickied, it should be of use in a couple of weeks. It should pick up any other similar images.
20. erroneous! I was looking forward to pics
21. Anyone know of these basses? I really like the look of it but can't afford it right now. I thought i'd point it out and maybe find out a bit about them at the same time... 22. oh yeh, I think justin chanccellor does that, I can't remember what song though. I love doing that.
