Oscillation is something that would be at the front of my mind having played with some synths at uni. However, I really haven't found that much use for it, I suppose because i'm not looking for an extreme sound. What pedals are we working with? If you put your whammy on octave down harmony, then next put your distortion with the gain up and the top rolled off, then loads of compression.

a syth sound could be as simple as getting an octave pedal and turning the dry signal all the way down, and the octave all the way up! It all depends on the kind of sound you're going for, as you've described above. Personally, I think some compression (if not fuzz) is a must, as is an octave. Anything else is just an effect! That wasn't a very helpful reply. when I want a "synth" sound, I roll off all my tone, turn all my dirt pedals on, and turn on an octave down harmony, oh and normally I would turn my wah on and leave it "up" so it's cutting top end.

Heh, you should deffinitely try wah and fuzz together.

I thought he might be doing that. There's no way I can get my right hand going that fast I can play the line just without all the funky little mutes that are very difficult to hear, and I guess they'd be pretty easy to work out if I could play that fast! Oh well, i'd better get practising. Cheers!

Octave first, then the ME-50B but the big muff you'll have to try both sides to find out what you like with wah, as it's two very different effects.

nice bob! Do you have a clean blend on your XP-100? I find that mine tend to lose me a bit of low end on some wahs, and also on octave up harmony.

I have a load of recording equipment and general gear to play with, along with a rehersal/recording room, and all the time in the world outside of my job. EDIT: but I did actually audition for a band who didn't want to come to my studio and didn't get it. So, maybe I am lacking in "soft skills"

Sometimes my guitarist picks up a bass and will play some groovy riffs rediculously fast and it makes me very jealous. I my band(s) we know our roles and respect each other's. None of us put in more effort than the others. Maybe it [i]is[/i] really easy for the guitarist to play that fast and sing at the same time, but the rythm section don't give a f*ck because he's doing it well.

I've always had to use the graphic on my amp. I don't have a problem with that. If I had an amp that had my EQ built in i'd be pissed off because I like to change my sound. I need those controls!

I think he might play it. Apparently he played the guitars on his first album (much more rap than singing, I like it).

Yeh there's no lag on the zoom. It does feel well built but I had to repair the footswitches (I actually put in proper ones). I've not tried the POD

I played guitar since I was 8 and only bought a bass when I was 16. I never tried to play it like a guitar, although I do play chords a lot. I'd call myself more of a bassist than a guitarist, but that's because i've never played a gig on guitar I think.

I'm rather jealous of some of these boutique boards!

yeh I have one. Tap tempo means you set the rate or tempo of the delays by tapping. On some pedals you have a little tep tempo button to do with your finger, but the echohead has a tempo tempo input for a momentary footswitch so you can tap with your foot!

The mics i'm using are a 58beta and a 57. I have another 57 on the way, which is good 'cos this feeds back less, but I do prefer the tone of the 58beta. I'll make some longer cables and put the cabs right infront of the singers, rather than at right angles to them. I'll also check my gain staging. I think maybe it's just too easy to overdrive the Kustom "line in", and I think i'm right in thinking that an overdriving signal path is much more likely to feed back as there's less dynamic range? Maybe there's a poweramp with decent EQ built in? I know I saw a bass amp on here not long ago with a really big graphic EQ. The line in on that sort of this might do? If you can't, tell i'm a cheap skate.
