1. Most of the info is in the thread title. You can check out our music here: www.myspace.com/creepjointmusic I play the drums, but the bassist will be using my monstor pedalboard. We really need to support for this one as it's our first one at the Sugarmill with this new band, so if anyone actually wants to go could we sort out me selling you a ticket before hand? This way we have more chance of gigs there in the future.
2. We played a hell of a lot of sh*t gigs and got seriously tired of it, not to mention broke. In my new band, we're stricly only doing gigs where we know for a fact we will play to more than 20 odd people, where we know we'll get paid (even just for petrol) and where we know we can have a good night (IE stay over or leave the gear over night or basically not have to drive). It's going well so far, but we're going to do some London gigs soon and I sense it may be the return of the toilet gig.
3. Nice one but I can't see half the pedals! Anyone with an XP-100 on their board is allright by me!
4. Ahhh, too far
5. Where are you? EDIT: Sorry, it does say NW but could you be more specific?
6. I bet you could find a schematic to build one, and it would be very easy. What's the model number?
7. Cool, I really want one of these. An in depth review in the reviews section would be most appreciated!
8. Boss LS-2 is a good suggestion
9. I've done it, but I think blocking the soundhole would have helped. I had to angle myself away from my amp, turn it down, and put my noise gate on. At lower volumes it shouldn't be too bad. We've recently done a lot of guitars on an album i'm making by playing an electro acoustic into a distorted practice amp and we've had no feedback issues (standing very close to the amp)
10. NOT RELATED SPECIFIALLY TO JANEK I HATE the fact that some people think that when I express a negative opinion about someone else it's all about my own insecurities. It's not.
11. lol, not that I want to start a pick related argument, but it IS just a peice of plastic.
12.
Is it ridiculous of me to have "blended loop GAS"? Actually, no. I had plectrum GAS a few weeks back...
Plectrum GAS sounds like a serious psychological issue. Perhaps you need some therapy?
13. I used to blend 2 loops of distortion and fuzz all the time. I then blended that with clean. Very punchy!!!
14. Cool, I quite fancy a kit pedal. RE the "both" option - you can never have enough dirt pedals on at once. It would have been better if it was a blend of the two though.
15. That is a nice rig!!! On your looper, when you select both, is it A->B or A+B and if it's the latter do you get volume issues? WTF is a Moodysounds Hjärt Müller?
16. Well I ended up doing a music tech degree at staffs. They have some great equipment and some allright studios, but you basically record 1 band in your 2nd year, and then you can do recording in your 3rd year if it's to do with your final year project. I went to learn about recording and basically just learned how to drug yourself into a whopping overdraft. I've since gained experience recording independently and am making an album with my own gear, but just learning what I now consider the basics of recording and mixing was a tough struggle after 3 whole f*cking years at uni.
17. Alex - from your post it looks like Orange actually PMd you?
18. It would never happen in my band. We're three mates who play songs together. It would be possible to train someone up to replace one or another of us, but we'd never do it. We've turned down great gigs because one of us has been away. It just wouldn't be right, and if they did a gig without me i'd be very offended.
19. Did they ask if it was cool with you to get a dep? If so, you should have been more assertive and said no. If not, then you should be seriously p*ssed off and tell them so.
20. I didn't realise it could batch process them. I will get Audition!!
21. You can normalise to RMS (not sure what it stands for but I think it's an average) rather than Peak in most programs.
22.
i use reaper, that does basically the same job as audacity and garageband doesn't it?
yeh. I would say the next step is to get some decent mics, which means a decent pre-amp or two, and then probably a decent audio interface. This is because working with mics and acoustic recording is far more difficult than recording DIs. I was in the same position as you when I was 16. In retrospect, I should have gone to college and done a Btech in recording.
23. I just remember that single, it was very funky indeed. I lost it during a lightning storm along with the rest of my mp3 collection

Vocaloid

That's very interesting, thanks!! I might have a go at this. IMO Reason is pretty poor for writing midi. You could use anything to create a MIDI file and put it into that program.

Vocaloid

What the hell's a vocaloid and how do you use it with reason?
