Have you looked for a way to do this? "Perhaps you could somehow get the keyboard to go directly to Reason rather than through GB to reason. The outputs will still be available in Rewire to listen back into GB." I know, for example, you can have MIDI data in the Reason sequencer and still run that in slave mode to cubase.
2. a switch is just two wires being connected and disconnected, so simulate the function of the switch without using the switch and you should be able to tell if the switch is broken. All you need is a couple of wires connected to the same points as the footswitch, then connect and disconnect them to see if you get the pop.
3.
Download asio4all,these drivers are brilliant and free, even if your soundcard is basic you can get near 0 latency.
Yeh, sorry, I forgot the basics - what card are you using and what drivers?
4.
Haha, Brilliant!
That's exactly what your mother said! What a coincidence!! (joke, don't be offended!!)
5. [jealous] Hey guys I just showed up so you can shower me in glory because of my rediculously huge and expensive and sexy looking pedalboards [/jealous] Welcome to the board, your pictures have given me an erection.
6. I use Cubase and Rewire to use Reason for drums, but I program them. I don't have a MIDI keyboard so never came accross the problem. When I play the notes on the virtual keyboard in cubase I don't think there's any latency with the drum sounds from Reason. Perhaps you could somehow get the keyboard to go directly to Reason rather than through GB to reason. The outputs will still be available in Rewire to listen back into GB.
7.
Not neccaserily, the 105q only sweeps the mids and highs, leaves the lows alone, i'd imagine other bass specific wahs are like that
Yeh, that would make sense. (what a dummy!!)

Peavey gear
Great kit for the money. Not sure if they run comfortably into 2 ohms as Peavey claim though -anyone have experience of this?
Mine has always been fine. I've got a TNT combo that ran at 2 ohms for loads of gigs (until I broke the extension cab!!).
9.
Yep, I think some people put a positive spin on this whole situation too quickly!
You are protected by law. If you fear for your safety contact the police.
10.
this is mine...pretty basic.... but a great board from Scott Dixon cases...! i take a Di from the sansamp btw..so i have the amp and the sansamp goin to the desc for a blend
It says in your sig you're a blackstar pedals endorsee, but I can't see any on your board? Also, I would get a better PSU, one that can power them all so you only have 1 plug.
11.
Am I Naïve in thinking wah is just an eq sweep?
It's a notch filter isn't it? It's not just a tone pot.
12. Nice one! free bass!!
13. lol, is that A or B? Now, i'm only posting because no-one else is trying to help, but beware i am NOT an expert. However, this is what i'd do.... I suspect it's A. If so, open it up, get a couple of wires and put them on either side of the switch. You can put these wires together to simulate switching the pedal on with the footswitch. If you don't get the pop, replace the switch. If you do get the pop, your pedal is f*cked. If it's B, your pedal is f*cked. When I say f*cked, I don't mean it can't be repaired, I just mean it will probably have to go to a pro. There are a few guys on this board that repair pedals.
14.
They only sound good with a blender on bass though, they cut all the low end and sound really clanky, except the envelope filter patch, that sounds absolutely awesome
Right, but why is anyone using a wah on bass without a blender?? Surely the whole idea of a wah is that you loose low end when your foot's all the way down?
15. Sorry I can't help, it's not my field of expertise, however... I would like to know why you need to do this? Can't you just record the MIDI data into GB or Reason, and then use this to drive the reason instrument from GB? I assume you want to slave Reason to GB as you have other stuff running in GB at the same time - you wouldn't want to do that for a live appliction would you?
16. Generally you need seperate power amps for each frequency band. Obviously you could use a stereo power amp for a bi-amp. Some bass heads have built in crossed-over outputs, but these generally need a power amp after anyway. I think Trace did an amp with seperate speaker outputs for hi and low?
17. Also, (and I know it's too big) I LOVE the wahs on the XP-100
18. Always record a DI as well anyway, you could end up with a much better sound. Make sure to record a DI of your clean bass, as well as a DI out of your pedals. Use seperate DI boxes, don't use the DI on your amp. Depending on the type of music and mix, you probably won't be able to hear the hiss in the mix anyway, and if you can. a decent engineer will EQ it out for you.
19. There's one bass sound (that's used a couple of times) on Renegades that sounds like he's deffinitely torn a speaker. It's amazing!!! Battle of LA is a great album, but the more I listen to it, the more I think it's a bit "over produced".
20.
so i've got a hartke lh 500 going through the errr hydrive 115, great half stack, really love the sound i'm getting out of it, but there is a hiss, and i want to get rid of it in time for recording, which is this saturday am i right in guessing that a noise suppressor only gets rid of noise from the pedals? if so, what am i to do? thanks, charles
Do you have a noisy amp or a noisy pedalboard? I have both. When I recorded with them, I used a noise gate on the pedal board, recorded DI of dry bass, DI of pedal board, mic'd the amp(s) and low-passed them.
21.
Is it possible that he's making up some of the secrecy stuff for a laugh? He must get bored with the same routine interview questions.
Heh, yes, I think so. Maybe he does it to try and turn his tone into a legend. He doesn't realise that he managed it without the hype!
22. Evil Empire is such a meaty sound. I use it to compare all my masters to.
23. Just re-read the OP. Are you getting: A a loud pop when you switch the pedal on B clicking for the duration whilst the pedal is on ?
24. I believe morley do a pedal with auto-switching? With the wah probe - I wanted it to go through my dirt pedals, which are all blended anyway, so it makes no difference to the low end. In fact, if you turn up the boost circuit it seems to add quite a lot, but I guess that's low mids.
25. Damn, I wish I didn't like it so I could make a whopping profit!
