Wah woes

red onion are apparently good. If you have a spare pedal casing, make it yourself, if you don't, it's probably not worth it.

yep!

The fact that you don't use the fuzz isn't a problem. If you like the wah, you've got what you need! Get a true bypass loop and you can switch the pedal in and out of your chain independant of where the treadle is.
4. I bought a load of cables off Max. They arrived on the next working day! Very well packed etc. Cheers!
5. I want a chorus that will chorus the lows and leave the highs alone. I know i've said this before but no-one knew the answer - is there one out there?
6. My bassist bought Matt's modded Bronco, I handled most communications etc. I've just opened the package which arrived today. Extremely well packed, the bass is still shining and in tune!! Incredible. Cheers!
7. This Jamman sounds really useful! We're doing an album at the moment and putting samples in a lot of songs. This could help us put it in the live set!
8. It's built extremely well, weighs a lot, has been chucked around a lot and has withstood it. I've no idea what the impedence rating is, let alone what they claim is the ouput power. If we were going to blow the speakers, surely we'd have blown them by now? It's been gigged at loud volumes.
9.
If it's working for you then it's working. But if you get the chance to offload it for a decent price before it stops working then I'd do so! Alex
I'm not worried about it breaking, i'm just wondering about the sound of it. To my ears, it's getting miles more out of the peavey than when it's on it's own. Is there another extension cab in the same price range that would suit the peavey even more? Or "get more out of it"? Basically just make the amp louder.
10. You could have a rack with a sampler and an effects unit, both MIDI controlled from your floor board. 1 DI box at the start of the chain to link to your bass amp, the output of your effects to a guitar amp, the ouput of the sampler to the desk.
11. I play 6 strings and I tune the E string to drop D. How silly of me! But I also love it.
12. tBBC - I get why knob tweakers annoy you. I play with a lot of pedals but it takes me 1 minute to set up and I never tweak the knobs. I play with lots of pedals to get a good sound, and I always do. Whether or not the punters actually think "that's a distinctive bass sound!" or not doesn't matter. As a whole band, we sound and play better because we know exactly how to get a good sound within a couple of minutes. Sounding good is important, but being able to set up quickly and all on a stage is equally important.
13.
A great sounding band makes you want to stop and listen - a crap sounding band just gives you tired ears.
Exactly - whether you're a musician or a studio engineer or just a friday night punter.
14.
It's a shame none of the pissed punters you play to will give a sh*t though. Oh well, I'm sure it massaged your ego all the same.
They may not care about the sound consciously, but more people will be on the dance floor if the guitars aren't piercing your ear-drums with horrible tinny distortion at maximum volume.
15.
haha, probably just me but I really don't like line 6 tones. They just sound like a heavy metal tone (which is what I don;t want). It's that kind of over-the-top chorus flangy-thing that immediateltly goes into a searing hot heavy metal tone. I know for sure that it's that way on guitar, at least.
There's no such thing as a "Line 6 tone" that's the whole point. You shape your own tone using the Line 6 product. You may not like the options available but clearly you can turn off chorus and distortion and create 100s of tones without any chorus or distortion.
16.
...... If I need a dub bass sound or a more classic sound for recording, it's a great tool..........it'll be useful for recording jobs, but live I'll continue with either a Status direct into the amp or my Jazz through my Sadowsky preamp. Rich.
Sorry for cutting up your post there. I think you're missing the potential of this live. What if one song in a set requires a dub tone, one requires a grindy rock tone, one requires a jazzy tone, another a funky tone. Once you're used to being able to switch between drastically different sounds for different songs, you start wanting to switch between different sounds for different sections of songs. That's when effects pedals are useful. In the studio you have a desk and a rack of outboard gear and an engineer to get whatever tone you want.
17.
Their electronics are hit and miss in terms of performance depending on who they've ripped the design off from and how well they've copied it. Their loudspeakers are shockingly poor in every respect. Get an old Peavey or something instead, it'll sound better, last way longer and won't depreciate. Alex
I have a Behringer 2 x 10" ontop of my Peavey combo. Would you say that I would be shockingly better off with a different extension cab?
18. No I would need the exported files or just the original audio pool. It's not THAT good an offer, i'm not a pro, but I would make it sound good.
19. You could export it from Pro Tools and do it yourself, or upload it and i'll do it for free.
20. Another 2 x 10" to go with the one you have, and then stack them vertically!
21.
'56 Plate Ford Fiesta - 8x10 ampeg classic & classic head & back up gk head & 2 basses and one whinging gf. Only once but it can be done !
That's amazing!
22.
Check the Tu1000 too...
Nice! It's the same idea as my rack tuner on the pedal board - nice and wide display but on the floor.
23. The Line6 rack gear is excellent, as are all of the Pods etc. I'm not sure what this^guy's on about
24. "no more nails" or something equally over the top should do it. I used UHU and "lock-tite" or whatever it's called and it came up.
25.
Did you used to be in the A Team before you turned to music?
No I confused MrT out of his transport by asking him in detail where the evidence of all of his modifications had gone. In the end he was convinced it wasn't the one he'd been messing about with all those years and I drove away with a fiendish band-mobile!
