1. Greetings! I come in quite regularly. I'm not quite sure which one you are, i'm assuming the guy who had some funky slapping going on last time I was in - very good! I only come in for consumables, there's never any 6 strings in or interesting pedals or the like, but the shop is nice and friendly.
2. Nice. How did you do the finish on the byoc pedals?
3. I used to get a great sound that could be described with the words you use. I used a zoom GFX707 blended with a compressed signal using a boss LS-2. The 707 can be quite noisy but in a gigging context was not noticable, and it was easy to work around in the studio. The newer zoom pedals do a similar job. Perhaps a multi-fx unit would be appropriate if you're looking for versatility and the ability to switch between different settings. I had mine set so that the exp pedal controlled the gain on the distortion patch and it was really useful.
4. I think the ODB3 IS low gain at 9 o'clock, and I like it! I really think you need a guitar pedal and a blender.
5. The most biting overdrive i've ever had was with a Boss AW-3 with EXP pedal set so that it basically made my bass extremely clicky - into an ibanez overdrive, both blended with 50% compression, all blended with around 20% clean.
6. Have you tried a marshall jackhammer? I think the only way to get real aggressive attack is very biting overdrive combined with around 50% clean signal.
7.
In that case I'm guessing the low end loss I percieved must have something to do with the internal trimpot settings?
It could be. I messed with them when I first got it but that was years ago. I know one of them controls sensitivity on the plate, can't remember what the other one does.
8. I use a wah probe with bass and I love it. I've used it on it's own and not noticed any low end loss, but I have been using it blended for the last 3 years. It's deffinitely my favorite wah out of all i've tried.
9. Is the worm really noisy? I've tried two different ones in shops here in Stoke and they were very noisy. If not i'm interested!
10. Ahhh, great! That's miles easier.
11.
Stop playing with guitarists - now.
Or at least wear marigolds!
12.
walles
Stop playing Jazz with our language!
13.
I'm doing this on Thursday evening: mixer -> stereo mic input on camera. No mixing / syncing required later.
It might be worth putting a mic at the back of the room and feeding that to the tape outputs but not the PA.
14. Ta, that's what I was looking for. Now i'll attempt to put it in the Wiki. EDIT: I've done it!!!
15. There should be a guide on how to set up a bass either stickied or in the Wiki but I can't find one anywhere! I know i've seen it. Can someone help!?
16. No, i've been too busy mixing an on-going project, and i've been tracking myself on drums. It's something I anticipate for this thing I drum for, so I WILL get it working, and will be sure to report back after my next attempt it.
17. Use your demo CD and sync it up to loads of different clips from the video camera. It's a music video!! But yeh, the only real way of getting a good sound is to take feeds from the desk as well as at least a stereo pair of mics in the room. You can get fairly decent results with just a stereo mic or pair of mics in the room, but it's not going to be much better than the best built-in microphones on video-cameras IMHO.

Pitch Shift

You can use the wet ouput from a digitech whammy but I think this is generally a blended output. No other pedals could affect that. An XP-100 could acheive what you want, but really, the quality is going to be crap, you won't use it. I'd get used to swapping between basses and playing the same stuff on both.
19. A bass exciter will excite both of your basses, so you'll probably still want something to level them out.
Thats sounds like a good solution, I know Boss make one but are there any good ones in particular you could reccomend? Many thanks.
I have the boss one and it's fine. I've never tried another, an EQ is an EQ!! Although some "tone freaks" will go on about the quality of the buffer etc.
20. I would try them out in a shop before deciding that the tube is an issue. Personally, I always go for the cheaper option. I've not tried either pedal, but i'd love to play with the "Z pedal"!!
21. Well, I searched the marketplace for "auction" and couldn't find any moderated topics at all. Do deleted/locked threads not come up in searches?
22. OH, you might be right.
23.
Just check that again, mate. Beat you by 9 days. If I honestly thought I was talking bullshit, I'd own to it. I'm not. And I agree, tBBC will be sorely missed.
Fine, I have more dots under my name so made an erroneous assumption. You wouldn't know anything about erroneous assumptions would you? EDIT: Didn't mean that to sound as bitchy as it does, sorry!
24.
.... I simply can't be arsed. The fact that there's nothing to be found in the guidelines is immaterial - it has been moderated on in the past. ....
If there's nothing in the guidelines, it's not against the rules and never has been and without finding an example (I've never seen anything and been on here longer) it looks like you're talking BS. If you're OK with that, fine. IF there were repeated examples of for sale threads being moderated for being an auction, I can totally understand the issue here, but I don't think that's the case and no-one is willing to prove otherwise. I'm just sad that tBBC got caught out by your erroneous statement so that now I can no longer be amused by him.
