1. I think the cab walls are thick enough to drill for casters.
2. Beofre I bought a decent soundcard I used to get a lot of latency. I just moved the waveforms back a few ms until they were in time, it's dead easy.
3.
I had a B2 & I loved the sounds on it, but in reality I never used it live. That was because it had an annoying slight delay between playing & the sound actually happening, especially on the SWR & Marcus Miller settings. This was a real pity, as the sounds themselves were excellent. Rich.
A latency on a multi effects pedal? What settings were you using? Was is the B2 or the B2.1U?
4. I used to gig with a GFX707 all the time. I used a blender, but it sounded great. It's also how I learned about all effects all those years ago.
5. Nice one, i'm glad you got it!
6. Lots of people advocate the use of two rigs - clean, and effected. I tried this, sending purely clean bass to my peavey 1 x 15" combo, and purely effected bass to my johnson 2 x 12" guitar combo. It sounded OK. I messed with it for ages trying to get a great sound, but nothing I did got close to the sound I was getting using a blended pedal board running into the peavey AND the johnson on a crossover.
7. Nik - You should try a blender with your effects.

XP-100 Value?

£70 would be great value for an amazing pedal IMHO.
9.
Because the useable dynamic range of a hi-fi is a fraction of that of live music. Alex
Ahhhhh, makes sense. EDIT: But I suppose i'm one of those types who loves a really compressed bass sound. I doubt I have dodgy technique due to the amount of acoustic practice I do, but i'm certainly not technically brilliant. I wonder how you know if you just like compression, or if you're just sh*t with playing dynamics.
10. That's really good value Wayne. In the past, we've always printed onto photo paper ourselves, guillotined ourselves, stuck labels onto the CDs by hand, and used plastic wallets. It works out very cheap.
11. I don't understand why anything would be useful in the studio but not live. I set up my pedals to do exactly what I do in the studio, live. This means my sound is exactly the same as in the studio, which IMHO is a very good thing. Why would it be a bad thing? Why would compression be redudant when used in a live context as opposed to useful in the studio? Surely you're still listening to a bass sound through your ears?
12. On Saturday 20th December, The Premature Ejaculators will be letting down a pub full of christmas-booze fueled partying rockers. It's always a great night at the Norfolk Inn (Shelton, Stoke) and with it being Christmas it should be extra fiendish. We have a couple of Christmas themed debauched "covers" for added comic effect (not needed with our front man). I'll buy you a pint if you recognise me and say hello! P.S My new band which is more serious rock music (myspace.com/creepjointmusic) are playing the same venue this saturday, but that's a bit late notice. Same berr rule applies.
13. I like the old worm but it always seemed very noisy. This looks interesting, but not being able to footswitch between modes is a real bitch.
14.
I'm suprised you're walking.
"waynetrunkdude"
15.
I was with you.
Last night?? So that's why i'm walking like john wayne!
16. I thought you guys were with me but you're being sarcastic aren't you!!! Don't you get it?? The internet is serious business!
17.
I find that sort of attitude deeply deeply offensive
Yeh? Well I care enough to reply even though I couldn't give a t*ss.
18.
You havnt touched a nerve at all. Im not bothered i just seem to recall you making a fuss about this on more than one occasion i maybe wrong though. Im just pointing out that it is a bit ironic to complain about people complaining thats all.
I was actually complaining about people NOT complaining
19. Cool!! It's looking great - my kind of bass!
20.
He should be, but as it's just a guy as opposed to a company I think it would be quite difficult to enforce without getting other people (ie small claims court invlolved) which is a lot of hassle - TBH though the guy should just do the decent thing and sort it out, but I guess he's just one of the many people out there that are utter, utter c**ts
Yep, but if he shipped it insured, we could all hasle him until he refunds and claims. A few phone calls and disturbing peices of rotten meat through the post would do the trick.
21.
Yeah, ok, it was a dumb idea. I just had this image of walking out to where the audience would be, playing some stuff and thinking 'hmmm, not cutting through enough in this room', pulling a remote out of your pocket and fiddling with the mid/treble until it sounded right. it would save the play/walk/adjust/walk/play/walk/adjust cycle that I seem to get into. As for stopping people playing with it when you're playing, I'm sure we could put a bypass/off switch on the amp itself. Hmmm.... maybe i'll have to come up with a better idea to make my millions.
I thought it was a great idea, but it IS rather specialist. Not many bands are playing in venues big enough to take advantage of this. I've never had a wireless system for example, so I wouldn't be able to take advantage. I think perhaps a specific remote controlled pre-amp aimed at top pro players would be more effective in the marketplace. I have leant my bass amp out before and I would have really appreciated a remote controlled volume control. Some people just don't listen to your advice/rules.
22.
Not about time you got over that? you complain more about it than anyone ever did for your jokes. Kind of seems a bit ironic to me.
I've never complained about it other than when it has happened to me. Feel free to prove me wrong. Sorry if I touched a nerve!
23. Yeh any guitar OD pedal with a bass EQ control should be fine. I like the ODB-3 and the Marshall Jackhammer myself, but i'm sure there are loads of other great pedals out there.
24. If one of our products is damaged in transit, we are obliged to replace it. For this reason, we have insurance through parcel force and the like. If this guy didn't insure it, it's his own problem. Surely he is legally obliged to take it back and refund?
