1.
I love his drive sound. But I think it only works at relatively low volume.
What do you mean by that? It will sound crap if you turn up the CD in your car? Or if they were louder at gigs? Or.......?
2. It's such a great deal, it would be a shame to split it, but I know I only need the soundcard. If you'll take £60 posted i'll take it, I can collect for a discount as i'm only in Stoke. PM me when you're back.
3. Well I was going to suggest just making a CD with a click track on one side and the samples on the other. The thing is, if you came in after 5 instead of 4 beats, or anything like that, it would totally mess it up..........(because he says he wants to do it without a laptop).
4. "hallucinoginetics" or something like that? Cool!! I've not seen him use the bass keyboard pedal thingies on that DVD.
5. Interesting! Ta for that. I would love a DL-4. I guess he uses this for his reverse sounds on the primus live DVD I have and it's very cool.
6.

Can you tell what's on that? If so, can you tell me please? Was there somewhere particularly informative where you got the pic?
7. Nice. I reckon you should keep the limiter at that price. Even if you don't particularly like it you never know when a limiter will come in handy, they're very useful.
8. Ta for the link but I can't search on the les forum. Still, it seems he has more material out than I realised. Nice one!
9. Really? I thought the blue box was a ring modulator rather than an octave up? It does sound like the octaver on digitechs etc rather than a ring modulator but I await correction. Are there any sites that detail Les' rig?
10. How will you make sure your pre-recorded samples are in time with the live playing?
11. There's an octave up at one point so I thought maybe it was a synthy type pedal with envelope follower, octaver, and dirt in one box.
12. Does anyone know what pedals Les is using on the song "Mr Oysterhead"?

Muse Bass Sound
I suppose it's cos it's one of the really well known Muse tracks. I'm still trying to figure out how to get the right sound for Muscle Museum.
Muscle museum is just plenty of compression and played right by the neck without much force IMHO. On the CD there is a piano doubling the part which makes it sound much more interesting. I don't know if it's actually a piano, someone disagreed with me on the Muse board about it once, but it sounds just like a piano doubling the part. It would be amazing if it was a pedal though!
14.
there's one or two 1/2 decent fx in the zoom if you spend a little time messing & the delay could prove useful.
There are some seriously good sounds in the Zoom if you work at it. Stick it in a blender and it's even better. I used to use mine for all my dirty tones, as well as wah and delays and phaser etc.
15. Can you give some info regarding "record labels sniffing aound" please? Also, you say that you have loads of gigs lined up, but there are only 3 dates on the myspace. I live in Stoke. I can easily keep up with this band. It's not my favorite type of music, but if it's really going somewhere then I could be interested. P.S I only own 6 strings, but don't let that scare you, I can play root notes with a pick.

Muse Bass Sound

I prefer his earlier sounds. You can find out all about them as the set up was rather more simple!
17. I used to gig with 20 odd pedals and I got loads of compliments from other bassists on my sound.
18. I would imagine it reduces signal level, rather than increasing it. You would have it turned on to reduce the level of your actives, and off to balance with your passives.
19. I think the cab walls are thick enough to drill for casters.
20. Beofre I bought a decent soundcard I used to get a lot of latency. I just moved the waveforms back a few ms until they were in time, it's dead easy.
21.
I had a B2 & I loved the sounds on it, but in reality I never used it live. That was because it had an annoying slight delay between playing & the sound actually happening, especially on the SWR & Marcus Miller settings. This was a real pity, as the sounds themselves were excellent. Rich.
A latency on a multi effects pedal? What settings were you using? Was is the B2 or the B2.1U?
22. I used to gig with a GFX707 all the time. I used a blender, but it sounded great. It's also how I learned about all effects all those years ago.
23. Nice one, i'm glad you got it!
