2. I thought you guys were with me but you're being sarcastic aren't you!!! Don't you get it?? The internet is serious business!
3.
I find that sort of attitude deeply deeply offensive
Yeh? Well I care enough to reply even though I couldn't give a t*ss.
4.
You havnt touched a nerve at all. Im not bothered i just seem to recall you making a fuss about this on more than one occasion i maybe wrong though. Im just pointing out that it is a bit ironic to complain about people complaining thats all.
I was actually complaining about people NOT complaining
5. Cool!! It's looking great - my kind of bass!
6.
He should be, but as it's just a guy as opposed to a company I think it would be quite difficult to enforce without getting other people (ie small claims court invlolved) which is a lot of hassle - TBH though the guy should just do the decent thing and sort it out, but I guess he's just one of the many people out there that are utter, utter c**ts
Yep, but if he shipped it insured, we could all hasle him until he refunds and claims. A few phone calls and disturbing peices of rotten meat through the post would do the trick.
7.
Yeah, ok, it was a dumb idea. I just had this image of walking out to where the audience would be, playing some stuff and thinking 'hmmm, not cutting through enough in this room', pulling a remote out of your pocket and fiddling with the mid/treble until it sounded right. it would save the play/walk/adjust/walk/play/walk/adjust cycle that I seem to get into. As for stopping people playing with it when you're playing, I'm sure we could put a bypass/off switch on the amp itself. Hmmm.... maybe i'll have to come up with a better idea to make my millions.
I thought it was a great idea, but it IS rather specialist. Not many bands are playing in venues big enough to take advantage of this. I've never had a wireless system for example, so I wouldn't be able to take advantage. I think perhaps a specific remote controlled pre-amp aimed at top pro players would be more effective in the marketplace. I have leant my bass amp out before and I would have really appreciated a remote controlled volume control. Some people just don't listen to your advice/rules.
8.
Not about time you got over that? you complain more about it than anyone ever did for your jokes. Kind of seems a bit ironic to me.
I've never complained about it other than when it has happened to me. Feel free to prove me wrong. Sorry if I touched a nerve!
9. Yeh any guitar OD pedal with a bass EQ control should be fine. I like the ODB-3 and the Marshall Jackhammer myself, but i'm sure there are loads of other great pedals out there.
10. If one of our products is damaged in transit, we are obliged to replace it. For this reason, we have insurance through parcel force and the like. If this guy didn't insure it, it's his own problem. Surely he is legally obliged to take it back and refund?
11. I deal with Bax/Schenker all the time so if you have any problems.....
12.
I have rule: 'If they can't spell...i don't sell...or swap for that matter' people who can spell very rarely rip you off
If I said that i'd be getting flamed by the dyslexic membership!
13.
+1 - I hoped this would be easy to incorporate but I think there was some difficulty. I will chase it up though as it seems the best idea. ped
Cool......Or if you could automatically generate a feedback thread for each member and automatically generate a link to it in the respective sigs? I don't know, but I think there should be some sort of compulsary space for people to add feedback about every member. If the member doesn't like the feedback he can take it up with the mods. It kind of relies on everyone to leave feedback as well. I've bought quite a few items from people on here, and always say "link me to your feedback thread if you have one" and I think all but one have just ignored this question or just said "nah I don't have one, don't worry". Similarly, no-one has left any feedback for me as a buyer.
14. You could probably synch two loopers together for you and your guitarist, although you'd have to fight over who got to tap the master tempo. My guitarist does some lines with his delay pedal set in time i.e the pedal contributes to the rythm of the line, and I have no problem drumming to it as long as I can hear him.
15. One solution would be to add a feedback section to personal profiles. When people receive their item or whatever, they can go onto the seller's profile and just post about the transaction. Then if you are thinking of buying from someone it's as easy as clicking on thier name to find out their feedback.
16. Surely if the loops are significant in volume (in relation to dry bass), and the drummer has a sh*t load of bass in his monitor, it shouldn't be a problem if you start the loops with a tapped tempo?
17. I don't use a looper and this is no use for live work, but an interesting thought on playing to a click... To track drums for my new band, we demo the songs with a drum machine so obviously a constant tempo, and then I play the drums to a guide mix including a drum mix with some fills and everything. It's a lot easier than playing to just a click and perhaps your drummer could benefit from this technique in the studio?
18. I don't know the brand, I bought them used from 6stringbassist. I love the extra tension. Acoustically they are less bright, but when playing through my pedalboard and bi-amp rig it sounded just as good as my bass with rounds.
19. I put flats on one of my 6 strings and it seemed to increase the tension in the strings quite a bit (which I love). Is that normal?
20.
Any advice on acoustics would be most welcome. Although we will mostly be recording digitally including drums (Roland TD20) we may well do some acoustic/analogue (sp?) stuff. The drum/vocal room will measure approximately 2m x 3m, corridor 1m x 2m and the live/mixing room 4m x 4m. There will be an internal double sealed unit window between the vocal booth and the mixing room for visual cues etc. Forgot to add... floating wooden floors throughout, recessed lighting and a stella fridge!!
Cool, the dimensions sound allright, but it would be a bit tight recording a full band in there. I suppose people don't really do that much now. I don't really know that much about acoustics. I think there's a great SOS article about building home studios, you could find it on their website. I think if you make the partition double-walled with some foam or whatever inside, and angle the windows so that the viewing window doesn't form a parallel box, you should be OK. Oh, and double doors for the partition.
21.
I think was zoning on too much on the bass rather than the bass In relation to the track.
This happens to me sometimes, especially when playing the drums. If you're just listening to yourself it's very easy to lose timing.
22.
You'll have to buy me a drink first!
For some reason your avatar is stretched vertically. Is it on anyone else's screen? Perhaps you should upload a c*ck shot while you have the opportunity for artificial length enhancement.
23. I wish I had a building like that! Cool. Have you researched acoustics at all? How are you going to be treating the room(s)? If you section off a control room, will you have enough room in your live room? And will the control room be cramped? I know it's not very proffessional, but sometimes bigger live rooms sound better, and you could get a silent case for your PC, set up your mixing console in the live room, turn the speakers down when you record. It's what I do (not to save space) and it works great!
24. At my practice studio absolutely everything that plugs in is noisy as f*ck. EG I had a pedal board set up with 25 odd pedals on it, and everyone said "that must be SOOOO noisy" etc, and naturally I just accepted that my board was awfully noisy. However, I noticed that at gigs, it was never noisy at all! Same goes for my amps, the PA, even my computer speakers. I figure it's just the wiring in my practice studio.
25. I wouldn't really know, but it does say it gets rid of AC hum, and if it's your mains supply that's humming it should work? For the money you could try it and report back!
