1.
just looked at the ux2 what does pad mean (simplification please) cheers mark
It's a button that engages an input gain reduction when pressed.
  2.
No, it isn't. But this one started as a guitarist before taking up bass. What about the one you know of?
He's left handed, plays the tuba and piano and all that, and took up guitar as a bit of a hobby and now plays bass in a band in london. I think he's actually taking the bass seriously now, i've not spoken to him in a while though.
  3. If you know any local drug dealers, they could possibly find out any news. That's how I got my guitars back (8 of them) when my house was broken into.
  4.
I know a lefty who plays a right-handed guitar, but doesn't re-string it from righty to lefty. But he also plays bass, and uses a right-handed bass, but this time re-strung from righty to lefty. Which means he plays two stringed instruments, but with reverse fretboard layouts - top to bottom. Is it just me, or does he take the prize for being the weirdest guitarist on the planet?
Is his name Adam? I know a guy just like that.
  5. Use a thumb pick! You can grip it as lightly as you like and it wont fall off.
  6. You can get PSUs which supply an emulated dying battery for pedals.
  7. I think you should offer to sign it and a photograph for the buyer.
depends on the amp some would work as you suggest though. some run the effects loop in parallel with the pre amp so the send comes from after the input buffer.
Ahhh, OK, that's probably what my peavey's like, but I could use the power amp input for the other method.
The Peavey TKO I'm using is the same, and using either of them doesn't let me use the master volume as a control (volume depends entirely on the output from whatever is going into the poweramp)
Yeh, mine's the same. Weird!!

I thought the same as you Kev, but having said that, my amp does have a loop, as well as a preamp out and poweramp input. You wouldn't have both if there was no difference at all?
  12.
I phoned these guys direct and got a deal for three sets for just under £30 including p & p for my six string bass. Not the greatest ,but not the worst either, but at a good price to experiment!
£10 for a 6 string set? What brand? Who did you phone?
  13. If you use the EQ to create a crossover, all your lows through 1 amp into the 15", all your highs through the 4 x 10", it will sound immense!!!
  14.
Call me dense, but i never thought of that!
It's not dense! It just seems, if you already have a pedal that will do the job, and it fits on your board - why spend more money? You could fashion a cover to protect the knobs, or you could pull them off and file down the poles to make them more like trim pots.
  15. I've used mine for guitar with no problems, but I think if you buy the guitar version you get a little more variety in effects - not sure - but bass could sound crap plugged into it. With the Zoom, you could really get into using cubase, and that means you can start adding VST effects as well, so you're never limited!

I don't know about this pedal, but I would imagine that you would appreciate some form of EQ after the pedal, so if your amp has that I would use it. Of course it might turn out that the sound coming straight out of the pedal is exactly what you're after.
not really.
Can you explain why not? Not doubting, just curious.
  17. Just to say I think this pedal is underrated. If you add an expression pedal, not only can you get some seriously funky wah tones, but I used mine (with expression pedal on always down) to give me a pick sound from my fingers.
  18. I think this wants to be my christmas present. Hopefully Santa will be in touch!
  19. Just check on each midi channel, you have the output set to where you want it to go. As ironside said, it sounds like you want the standard "onboard" GM sounds, so you can select that from the outputs available in cubase on each individual MIDI track. If the outputs are set to the GM synth (or whatever it's called on yours) and the GM synth is turned up in the windows mixer, and you have output on the level meters in cubase then...... Do you have more than one soundcard in there? If so which one do you have your speakers plugged into? Does it have a midi sound module (don't know the correct terms) of it's own?
  20. I got my feeler out in the swimming pool. They said "put that away or we'll have you arrested!!!!" I said "I was only testing the water!!!" My joke book should be out for Christmas.
  21. It looks realy cool - i've been following this one. I really agree that you could do with some new hardware - black or gold or anything that's not that cheap looking crap.
