an active eq, brilliant, very interested in the drive one
+1 If only I could control my money! I can't wait for a review so I can get all depressed about not being able to afford one.
Are you in Stoke? That's only gonna be about a 60 mile round trip – about a tenner in diesel?...unless you're driving an 8.2ltr Juggernaut I’m feeling generous so you can have it for £75 if you’re interested and gonna collect it.
I was thinking I would try the sports mode out on my new car. To be honest i'm way too broke to be wasting money on cabs when I can't even gig at the moment. I was just offerring a removal service 'cos I have space for it and would love the extra volume. Good luck with the sale!

I will give you my opinions when I have read it. I'm too feckin' busy at the moment :-/

When i'm on stage playing bass I never get mad at anything, and when I come off stage no matter how many mistakes I or anyone else has made, I always feel great. It's all the crap before and after that winds me up. I'm doing some gigs as a drummer now wih my new band, which is loads of fun. However, I like to share a drum kit so I can get wasted, and this means I feel like I can't mess about with the settings too much so sometimes i'm uncomfortable, and that's annoying. At our last gig, we were told to arrive at 6.30 to load, soundcheck at 7, doors at 8.30. We were unloaded by 6.30 and then the sound man f*cked off somewhere for an hour at least, so we went home for drinks. The other bands had to wait around outside the venue, until 7.45 when he turned up again. Then, he took until 9 O clock to soundcheck the other 2 bands, kept on shouting obnoxiously at them and generally trying to come accross as though he knew what he was doing. The doors opened at 8.30 but he didn't stop, and he didn't think "f*ck the 2nd band, it'll be ok, the doors are open and this looks sh*t" he thought "the doors are open! it's my audience come to watch me soundcheck!" so he started shouting louder nad more obnoxiously until he was done with the middle band, which left us to walk on stage and play without any sort of check at all. The worst thing about this gig? The bar didn't open until 9!!!
The piece of cardboard is a placeholder for 2 eb jr volume pedals that will go there. Still waiting for a modded dod grunge and will be buying Subdecay Prometheus and Mojo Hand Sugar Baby. So not as empty as you would think, also would love to get this down to 1 board but we'll see.
Heh, yeh, I did realise you were leaving space for something specific. I just thought i'd get my jibe in while I could before you post the finished pic

It's looking a bit empty there Tayste.

does the pod have some sort of interface connectivity i.e usb? You've used it to record bass already? I would make a dry patch with a limiter on it, and plug your mic into the input. I'm pretty sure it wont do any damage.

I play bass in a band that I would like to think has a lot of "musical integrity" in that we take a long time and put a lot of effort into writing our songs, and then practice until we're tight. Sometimes it's quite technical stuff, and it's basically getting us nowhere, but musicians seem to appreciate us, and when we play together I get this amazing feeling of satisfaction that is comparable to a great orgasm. This band just got totally stressed with our lack of progress and now our drummer is hardly ever in the country I play drums in a band that I think has basically no musical integrity. Listening to it, you might be fooled, but we write songs in under 10 minutes with absolutely no thought of creating a beautiful and/or clever peice of music, we don't practice much etc. However, it's loads of fun! So, having "musical integrity" gives me more of a "deep" relationship to the stuff i'm playing, which can feel amazing, but it will also get me down where nothing's happening (all the time). Having no "musical integrity" gives me more of a care-free attitude to what i'm doing, which makes it more fun, but much less of an intense musical experience. Interesting thread!
Interesting to see that a few people run their comp after distortion, I read or was told a while back that its much less effective that way as its much harder to compress a distorted signal than a clean one (something to do with all the extra overtones the distortion creates or something).
I wouldn't know about overtones but... If you distort a signal, you are clipping the peaks. This is basically a really harsh form of limiting, so (depending on your amount of OD/fuzz) you loose a lot of your dynamic range, which is quite like using a compressor or limiter. Distortion before compression means that your playing dynamics can still fully react with the dirt pedal, while the compressor does whatever you've set it to do.

Sounds like a great venue! I love it in tiny places where the audience are right in your face.
I wasn't talking about the top picture.
Ahh, I made a thread in OT about sigs which you are welcome to comment in on mine. Shouldn't really hi-jack this thread any longer!
Is that supposed to be funny cheddatom?
"group hug" represents the general atmosphere of this thread. I'm enjoying it. The state of undress of the men in the picture I thought would be funny, yes. Do you not agree? Never mind, you can still join in the group hug

How did I miss this first time around? Guide prices? I'm not really interested in the Zoom, but at the right price..... I AM interested in everything else so some guide prices would be appreciated. I am a bit of a c*nt so don't ask me to PM you an offer, I know some people get easily offended if they receive low offers.
I love my pj. I've got two necks for it. One j and one p. It's like doing twins.
Awesome.

Welcome. Check out the free track mixing thread in off topic if you want some help with your band's stuff.

I think the sound of a bass has nothing to do with the amount you pay for it etc. I think it's the "playability" the smothness of your neck's join, ot the frets or whatever. I personally have no problem playing a sh*tter of a bass. I treat it as a challenge. As long as the intonation's ok, and I'm playing through a decent rig, I can make it sound good. The amount of players who have borrowed my rig to use with a sh*t bass and have sounded amazing......
i asked, but got no help all i was told was to email akai, and i never got a reply
Ahh, that's a bit crap. I bet someone could have fixed it but didn't notice your thread. I would have had a crack but not for £150! You played the odds, you might as well forget that the other guy fixed it as it was just as likely he'd just chucked £150 down the crapper.

Yep, same here Kev. I find the boss units a little boring.
-
Yeh, i've got cheap little ABs for £10 in local shops before.
broke, mate tried to fix it, melted the circuit board, sore story made worse by the person i sold it to, for £150, managing to fix it
Oh dear Kev! Should have sent it to a techy on here!
