It's actually a pretty good pedal BTW. Doesn't do that "fattening" thing that compressors are known for but it does keep your peaks under control without trashing your sound. I've got one on my board to rein in any crazy stunts some of my other pedals might try to pull.
+1 I love mine. It's great for clean guitars as well.
Great news mate..... if you don't ask etc. Mart. (from over the border, 12 miles down the A53)
I used to live on the A53. When do I get my endorsement?!?!? psn - Well done you wrotter!

I have played a washburn 6 - it was a very nice bass to play. I can't remember the sound of it but it was deffinitely very easy to play. They come up on Ebay and i'm always so tempted!

I have a korg rack tuner, a zoom gfx 707, a zoom b2.1u, some other zoom guitar thing, and a boss tuner all at my disposal. I haven't noticed any tracking differences between them, and they all take a second or two to register lock in on the pitch of the lower string. Perhaps because the strings "flap" so much. I also have VST tuners on the computer, and I have been in studios and used the fender pedal tuner and a behringer tuner and still the same - no difference really.
-
well, yeh, but if you're playing in a band with distorted/heavy guitars then in general a clean blend will always help you cut through and remain defined. In the studio it may not be appropriate. To be fair, I might not be saying that if I had an expensive bass rig so....
-
I find blending is much more useful than just retaining the low end.

When did someone put a big notice on BC saying 'Sell Here'?
cheddatom replied to warwickhunt's topic in Site News
I actually found BC because I was googling something that was on ebay for information and found a for sale advert on BC featuring the same product (but not the same actual item), so the classifieds do have a role to play in attracting new members.
Yeh, I found it in the same way. I didn't think I needed to post in introductions, i've never done that on other forums, I didn't realise it would seem rude! Maybe it only seems rude if I put a for sale ad up in the first week? Doesn't that sound a bit silly? Anyway, yeh, we've had this discussion loads of times and it seems like we don't really have a problem. People who want stricter controls or rules are placing too much responsibility on the mods. -
Heh, BBC, you have such bad taste! Guns 'n' Roses!!! Dolly Parton!!!!!! I still think you'd love the premature ejaculators. We'll have the album finished in a couple of weeks. I'll post you a free one in return for at least 12 months amusing forum posts.

When did someone put a big notice on BC saying 'Sell Here'?
cheddatom replied to warwickhunt's topic in Site News
Didn't we already have this discussion and everyone pretty much agreed that we should have an "enhanced feedback system" whatever that is, and that the rest should be left to buyer's discretion. Some people are willing to take a risk, others aren't, some people come here to be part of a community, some people just browse the for sale section. I think the fact that it's in a totally seperate section means that there's no real problem. -
5 string sei (jazz shaped) bass for sale! stunning flame maple top.
cheddatom replied to Ewan's topic in Basses For Sale
Hi Ewan Don`t worry about the price on this one, it was owned by a FUNKY ASS bassist and has appeared on numerous recordings, in fact it should be going for double the price! " Oh you know i`m joking" but seriously, this bass can stand toe to toe with most, i think he`d still have it but doesn`t have the room due to having way to many Sadowsky`s. You can`t beat a sei! "as long as it has a Sadowsky pre-amp fitted that is" and this one has sooo BUY,BUY,BUY,BUY,BUY.
What's the deal with this? You signed up today to make one post about a bass of which you have some knowledge of previous owners? Obviously i'm not accusing anyone here, there's always an explaination, but it does look like the OP signed up under another name to plug his sale. -
Well Mr Yorke, I can see through your act. The whole mock-autism thing is offensive to those who actually have to live with autism, and if you care so much for the environment, stop touring, stop making records and stop living.
Pure BBC Gold I reckon he's genuinley weird you know. His music's weird enough for me to beleive the "act".
Sorry, its not like me to hijack a thread and turn it into a "I Hate" rant.
Yes, quite out of character! My point was that Radiohead have sold a hell of a lot of albums, and they probably wouldn't have done if they didn't write music that people like listening to. Why is Thom Yorke Pretentious by the way? I've never seen any interviews or anything.
Thom Yorke needs a slap. Pretentious, wonky eyed git. Try writing some music that people actually like listening to for a change.
Do you buy albums you don't like listening to? I suppose it's another form of your masochistic kinky-freak streak!
I got rid of my '71 short scale about a year back, but unfortunately it still rings in my ears on a regular basis. It's very loud and trebly with a tendency to snap. However I'm sure that if the body, neck and hardware were replaced, she would be perfectly serviceable.
I know it's a difficult mod to do, but try just swapping the head and leaving everything else intact, I reckon that'd sort it.

You can buy no logo on there as well!
Well I've got my own practice room so whenever anyone wants to meet up. just outside Manchester in Stockport So same applies
ahhhh, that'd be nicer. Our room is dingey as f*ck.

I rent a large room on an industrial estate in the stoke area - 1 hr from brum or manchester. We could dwell there on a sunday and play as loud as we want! I can supply around 35 different pedals and 1 average rig. If a few people are up for it, this might be fun! There's also a drum kit and guitar amp+cab so we could jam on whatever instruments we like. Oh, and I have a recording set up there so we can tape some samples/jams. This isn't a firm offer - I always say things like this and then never find the time - but if people are really up for it and keep me reminded it could happen!
