For me, the feedback loop is the best feature of this pedal, although I do use the blend function almost all the time.

I've not used any Korg units, but the Zoom B2.1U is very well built, quite easy to program (read the manual), and sounds great IMHO. I gig with mine as part of a bigger single pedal setup.

You use a multiband when mastering 'cos you might want real hard compression on the lows, for example, and really soft, or no compression on the high-mids, or whatever you like. Multi-band compression tends to sound more natural, because the whole mix doesn't pump just from an extra loud kick or something, just the lows. theosd - If you haven't got a sound you like yet, i'd love to have a crack at mastering them for you! Let me know.

I'm no big jamiroquai fan, but I know the song, and I think the Danelectro French Toast with octave up and a bit of the high rolled off after the pedal would really do what you want.

I'd open it and look for a loose connection/dry joint. They're apparently notoriously badly built.

I use an EXP pedal with mine always. I have it so that when the pedal is full back, I get a horribly ear-raping high-frequency full picking tone, kinda like justin chancellor live, but a bit more nasty. I also use it with overdrive and/or dist to make some funky wah sounds! You can get it to sound really "vocal".

What's the boss pedal with the flash pointing at it? AW-3? What do you think of it? I have an AW-3 which I like, but i've read loads of crap reviews of it.

You can get low pass, high pass, band pass, and notch filters. A wah is a band pass filter (I think, sometimes I get the names mixed up) that moved up and down the range and you move the pedal. If the filter is controlled by an envelope follower, it's as though your picking dynamics are controlling the foot pedal. You can get sequenced wahs as well, and autowahs which just rock back and forth at a set rate. The are other types of filters, but I wouldn't really know about them in pedal form.

Most envelope filters are analogue, so..... EDIT: My lack of clear definition is not sarcasm. There could well be a pedal called an "analog filter" that does something completely different that i've never heard of.

I would say 600Hz is more "mids" than 2.5K. Whether or not either is of more use on bass or not........ I personally like to boost both mentioned frequencies on my amp. When recording, I use the EQ in my DAW. Do you not have this option?

A limiter is a compressor with the compression ratio set to 1:infinity. The limiter/enhancers you can buy let you bring the ratio down a bit, but it's still very much a hard compression ratio. These pedals are really good if your dynamics are all over the place, or, if you want a very consistent level. The "enhance" circuit could help your passive sound a bit active, but that's really not the point of these pedals. The reason I like them is that you can set the threshold, and the ratio. A compressor/sustainer will generally have less of a hard ratio. That's about all I can say (probably should have kept my mouth shut) The most important point IMHO when deciding what kind of compressor to buy is that the limiter/enhancer pedals (boss+behringer) give you more control over the compression taking place.

I saw one on Ebay, and I was watching it. I didn't buy it so it probably went above 50-60 quid but I can't remember the final price sorry. It wouldn't have been more than £100 'cos I would remember (I think). I'll make you an offer if you're going to sell it, but someone could always know more about these things and advise ebay 'cos it's worth more, or very rare or whatever. The one I saw was not in good condition.

I have to agree there Tayste - Lots of people use blending to "retain low end". If a dirt pedal looses low end, turn up the low control on it, or get rid of the pedal IMO. I use my blending for added "punch"

It's when I put an NS-2 and LS-2 with lots of blending and routing, loads of buffers etc, it just didn't like it and started to squeal.

If you don't use the modelling, i'm sure there's something cheaper. I've seen USB mics really cheap on Ebay, so there must be a "USB DI" somewhere.
