1. pretty much every time a 6 string set from a brand/type I've not tried before, I buy them, because otherwise experimentation is very expensive!
2.
I'll send you my easy to remember pneumonic, however can you clarify first, how easily offended you are, my pneumonic is definitely an adult one.
Not easily offended at all but I'd rather not catch pneumonia
3. Bad Sign, Zoax, and Hacktivist last night. Great bassists in all bands but I do have to give a special mention to Bad Sign - 3 piece with a singing bassist up front and he is awesome AND you could actually tell what notes he was playing. I can't give the soundmen any credit for that 'cos the other guys didn't cut through at all.
4.
...learning to read is, or at least can be, a quick and easy process...
I've tried to learn to read twice, once during music GCSE, once during music tech Bsc. Both times I managed to figure out the rhythm fairly quickly, and I could find out which note was depicted, but it would take me a while, starting at a definite point, then counting the lines, then checking the key signature. I really want to be able to do it, and I will try again, hopefully soon, but it's definitely not "quick and easy" for a lot of people
5.
I did it with two bands. Years apart for different reasons.
We live and learn... just need to get the hang of that second part
6.
...Thing is; a lot of people can get involved in projects and do stuff they haven't specifically been asked to do. Mainly because they had got too emotionally involved in the project...
Hah, yes, just screwed myself over with one of these projects!
7. I love watching these come together
8. great post, even if the style was a little bold
9. It wouldn't be unreasonable to ask them to pay for the production
10. If he was reasonable he'd give you a shot to show what you can do. He owes it to you for all the work you've put it. It sounds like he hasn't offered this, so IMO I'd f*** him off unless you think you stand to make money/reputation from the production side of things
11.
Dude, I crank my amp so hard that angels weep and my guitarist, like, totally bleeds out of his dick. It's so totally rad. S.P.
sweet dude that sounds killer
12. I see, I hadn't fully grasped the dimensions
13. what's the deal with the mini warwick that's always on there? Are they really just ornaments? Seems a bit pointless
14.
The only time a couple of girlies came up to me after a gig, I got the opportunity to make myself laugh. Girlie - "Do you play a lot of gigs round here?" (this was north London) Me - "Not really, but we're very popular in parts of Scotland" Girlie - "Wow, really!" Me - "Yes, personally, I'm huge in the Trossachs!" They wandered off looking confused, I laughed my head off inside. The Two Ronnies would have been proud.
15. protect your hearing!!! I assume you're not wearing ear plugs? You've probably already done permanent damage to your hearing.
16. When I get some time off I'll learn to read, I am determined!
17. bastards. I don't know how it works there but in the UK they're normally up and running again debt free the very same day
18. I'd love to be able to read music. I've had a few attempts at it but can't seem to grasp it. I just keep getting angry at the fact that there's 5 lines, 5 gaps, and a bunch of sharps and flats. Why not just have 6 lines and 6 gaps and forget the key signatures?! Wouldn't that be more logical? Anyway, I will have another go when I get some time off I've recently started a 6 piece funk band. Everyone else reads. We're doing some covers and some people bring their "dots". I'm just doing it all by ear as usual. We're all playing in the same key. There doesn't seem to be a problem communicating. I can't actually imagine where a problem would come up?
19.
Surely the Boss LS2 operates as an either/or switch, ie it won't blend the two sounds?
No, it can blend, it has many modes, it's dead useful
20. It'll be fine. The only potential problem will be whether your pre-amps are too hot for the LS-2, or whether the LS-2 is not hot enough to drive your poweramp. I doubt that'd be a problem though Does using the effects return on your amp cut out the pre-amp signal? Or maybe you have an effects blend control? I'm just wondering whether you could use the front end of the amp for the low side of the crossover... it'd save you buying another Leeds and an LS-2
21. I just thought the video didn't really show what the pedal can do, and it sounded as though it wasn't well recorded. This could be a good pedal yet. The video isn't enough to judge it by
22. I've done this loads. If you have tweeters turn them off, otherwise roll off some of the very high end, the rest should be fine
23. Barnsley on Friday, Nottingham on Saturday. Our guitarist uses a POD and plugs both his electric and acoustic through it, giving the soundman one DI. It seems they can't help themselves from adjusting the EQ, so when he switches we get feedback issues. It's not happened a lot this year, but both gigs this weekend it did. I guess the solution is to just give them two DIs. Anyway, that along with the flu sucks some of the fun out of it but we still went down well and sold merch etc
24. profit is the most important thing. If profit can't be made it's not worth doing. Just look at what's happening to the NHS
