1. As far as I'm aware he plays it on a fretless. That could be a large factor.
2. My honest recommendation would be to just spend a day and find someone on there who suits you. There are a few teachers on YouTube who I just don't get anything from. When I was just starting out Dmanlamius was a huge help.
3. I'd like to add an extra question. "Did you once sing in a band with Billy Apple?"
4. "Do I need to sing?" "Are any of you mental?" "Do we have any chemistry musically?" "Are you doing music because you love it or for money?
5. I'm assuming you mean a covers band and not originals?
6.
I'm awful, I can't write lyrics or song titles... I have nothing to say or complain about.
This describes me as well. I stay firmly away from anything involving words in the band.
7.
Scott Devine isn't crazy about slap and therefore gets my vote!
He's still pretty bloody good at it which is handy if you do watch those lessons.
8. Scott Devine usually has a great point to say but spends too long to get to said point. Which depending on what mood I'm in, I quite like his ramblings. My thoughts on his point though would be as below. People don't need expensive/boutique/handmade/custom bass. Expensive gear won't make bad players sound good but I do feel they will make a good player sound better. I could get away with what I play on any bass but quite frankly, I enjoy playing my basses. I am inspired to play more often when I'm using an instrument that I like. I've had many basses in the last 3 years and when I've had one that I really like I've definitely improved as a player. Play whatever the hell you like but keep in mind that you are the one making the noises.
9. I've spent a lot of time learning songs that I have no intention of playing live but I've always had a reason for learning it. I generally only learn a song if I think it'll help me improve in some aspect. For example I've just learned Sequoia Throne by Protest the Hero to improve my speed and tapping. There's no way my band would play that live!
10. There are definitely certain artists who I am much more likely to listen to in Summer than Winter. It's not an intentional thing. It's more that warm weather reminds me of certain artists.
11. Second track isn't really my thing but the first track is catchy as a catchy thing!
12. I remember the exact moment I decided I want to play bass. I was scrolling YouTube videos one day and came accross a video of Les Claypool playing and just decided "I want to do that!".
13.
If it had a fifth string I would have
This was my thought when I played it. And probably why my recurve is worryingly similar specs!
14. Easily the nicest 4 string bass I've ever played. Best of luck with the sale
15. I'm yet to find a Yewtube video with over 30 comments and no arguing.
16. I've had this issue with a Payson string I had. Seemed to be a fault with the string. Do what Hobbayne said
17. I love Warwicks (having played them exclusively for about 50% of my time as a bass player) but their pricing is crazy. When I was really bored one night I decided to spec a bass up to get it as close to the spec of my ACG as possible to see how much it would cost. It came to around the price of almost 4 ACGs. When you consider the several things that Warwick wouldn't be able to do (preamp and pickups are unique).

19. Not in order - Chon - Grow Intervals - The Shape of Colour Sikth - Opacities Tesseract - Polaris Veil of Maya - Matriarch Agent Fresco - Destrier Leprous - The congregation
20. The studio I rehearse at has an Ampeg 8x10 in all of the rooms excluding one. The other room has a EBS 4x10 and the EBS blew the Ampeg out the water in every aspect. Just sounded louder, clearer, beefier, tighter and many other words ending in 'er'. This was also using a class D amp head. Plenty of oomph! I suppose it depends what you like. I definitely don't go for a 'vintage' type sound.
21. All I can really say is my experience with my 5 string fretted ACG (with flat board). I like it and will no doubt get the same on any other ACG I end up buying.
22. J-rock. Just a really fun genre to play. Despite the miserable face I have on, the song is great fun. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4PxCVEDmumI
23.
Awesome guitars, the ZR tremolo is awesome on these.
that reminds me actually. The tremolo bar is missing (the previous owner lost it) but I think they can be picked up fairly cheap
24. Reviving this as I remembered that there was a guitar in the cupboard that I don't use!
25.
Found it - http://basschat.co.u...o%20bass%20tune Didn't realise it was me that actually started it... But yeah, it's more about the responses!
First time seeing that thread/video. That was really difficult to watch!
