1. I use one of these http://www.amazon.co.uk/FastTrack-SOLO-Audio-Interface-Avid/dp/B00CBU7EII Does the job and comes with a basic version of pro tools (although I use Reaper now). If I was to buy a cheap interface just now though I'd go with one of the Focusrite Scarlett solos. They seem to get great reviews.
2. Just recently been informed that another band has pulled out last minute which means we get an hour long set but we can't really remember an hour of our music so come watch as I try and remember 15 minutes of the set! An old old old basic recording of our first song (we're better now, honest) - https://soundcloud.com/goon-and-the-kings/dark-side
3. Certain Warwicks have large necks (too large for my tastes). I've playing one Spector Euro that also had a pretty big neck
4. Good to hear There's a few fellow basschatters who have done similar things for me.
5. The guitarguitar in Glasgow has a huge selection of acoustics, some of them are bound be rather nice. I would assume all the guitarguitar stores have similar selections.
6. I've never used one but if it's second hand and at a reasonable price then I say buy it. Try it. If it doesn't work out for you then shift it onto someone else
7. So my singist appears to have booked us in for a gig on the 17th of this month in a pub in Glasgow called Malones (Sauchiehall Street). All money made from the gig goes to Great Ormond St hospital and it's cheap as chips to get in. Figured it can't hurt to post it on here. Our first gig in a good while and we've barely rehearsed so come see how rusty we all are https://www.facebook...77091152416338/
8.
it does make me wonder what his creative intentions might be in a band situation.
I'm fairly sure he is in a band. Think they're called "a word alive" or something like that.
9. Just the one. TC Polytune 2 mini. works great with no issues at all
10. Elliots vocals seem to be a bit marmite for some. Personally I think they're excellent for the music. Also looking forward to seeing them with Periphery/Veil of Maya
11. Almost everybody I know loves them. To me they're "just another rock band" though. Bore me to tears.
12. Last band I saw live were a Japanese tech-metal band named Cyclamen. Were rather good.
13. Periphery. Saw them twice before but this is the first time I'll have saw them headline. Looking forward to it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QHwchxc6wsg
14. Very nice! Don't suppose this will be at next years Moffat bass bash?
15. Welcome It's good here but stay away from the marketplace, it can be expensive! Also. Judging by our ages there's a slight chance we may have went to school together (different years though!) Cameron
16. Having owned a Mono M80 and a Vertigo I would say if you do go down the single bag route, the vertigo is the way to go. I sold the M80 because the limited space and if I'm entirely honest the vertigo feels more solid. With regards to the space, I can fit my Genz shuttle 9 into the front pocket with no issue.
17. We occasionally have a "I reckon we should do this but x thinks otherwise" but we always put everything down to a vote and that's that. I think of the main reasons we never really argue is that right from the start we all agreed that if we have something we don't like/agree with we will say and discuss it there and then.
18.
"Do you play any latin music?" "Well, I've been known to dip in and out of salsa"
Jeez...
19. I have...but I've always ended up changing my mind again and selling it.
20.
I waited more than 5 months for mine (collected in July) but BD seem to be operating a 'running order' with regular NG-2 deliveries so if you time it right you could drop on with no wait time.
This is what I done. There seemed to be a few there for quite a while was looking last.
21. Only thing I can really think of is experiment with the strings you're using. Other than that my only thoughts are really to do with the construction of the bass itself.
22.
Record it live then ask for fan input to critique it 😉
Alternatively record it live and post it on here for us to critique. Then show him the thread.
23. Just about anything I regularly listen to most people I know can't stand.
24.
Trade for a Wal??? ...
Ha! Bet me to it!
25. I second the comment about how well these compare to the Canadian models. I prefer my NG-2 to an AB1 I previously had. Looks great in the yellow too.
