Very nice!

I use the TC Polytune mini 2 and had no issues and anytime I'm out of tune it's been my own fault and not the tuners!
-
Apologies for the crappy quality pictures but here's the Shuker Elite 6 that I briefly very owned. Fantastic bass and sounded huge but I'm just more at home on a 5 string.

TC Electronic G-System on bass...anybody tried it?
Cameronj279 replied to Cameronj279's topic in Effects
My main thought behind going multi effects is that I have to change the settings on my pedals a lot (probably after every 1-2 songs during our live set) and a multi-effects would be simpler and basically just mean I don't have to spend the last 30 seconds of each song trying to remember which pedals I have to change. -
Basically I'm considering selling up the pedalboard and going for a multi-effects of some sort. The Kemper profiling amp has peaked my interest but when you include the foot controller it would be around the £1500 mark which at the moment is more than I have (unless my recent job interview has went considerably better than I think it has). Finding any real information about the g-system on bass is proving quite difficult. My current setup is : TC Polytune Mini, MXR Envelope Filter, MXR Bass Octave Deluxe, Darkglass B3K and some EHX delay pedal so I would be looking for it to be able to do a rough estimation of each of those pedals if possible.
Should I destring the bass for flying? Truss rod need any adjustment?
I've always loosened the strings but never took them off for shipping. Never had any issues. As for shipping I've always used UPS via Interparcel.

Online Bass Purchase – Am I over reacting?
Cameronj279 replied to bagsieblue's topic in General Discussion
Doubt the seller noticed in all honesty
This. There has been quite a few times where I've had to amend adverts because I've noticed tiny little marks. I can honestly say it wouldn't bother me and quite frankly I probably wouldn't have noticed it. If you're happy with the rest of the bass I'd just accept it. Making the seller aware it wasn't as described would do no hard however...for any future sales the guy/gal makes. -
Apologies for not getting a proper review type thing up here yet. been super busy with house move stuff but managed to get time mid rehearsal to restring. Wanted to do this so I could properly compare the Elixirs to the DRs that were already on the bass. So this is just really first impressions. The first thing I noticed when I plugged the bass in was that it was the huge increase in volume and overall presence in the sound. They definitely feel slightly different from previous elixirs. They feel more like non coated bass strings which Im not decided wether I think that's a good thing or not as I liked the very slidy feel of elixirs. I got the set with the .135 B string and find it a little floppy feeling when playing unplugged although not to the point of being weak sounding. The E string sounds slightly duller than what I was expecting although that is being nit-picky! The main test of Elixirs in my mind is how long they keep their zing for so I'll report back once I've given them more use...had a few cancelled rehearsals lately so not been able to use them as much as I normally would have!

If you could have been in one band in the last 15 years.....
Cameronj279 replied to merello's topic in General Discussion
There's a few. Leprous would be one as I'd love to play with their drummer as he's utterly incredible but I think if I could pick any it'd be Monuments or Periphery. They have groove, technicality, melody and heaviness. Everything required in a good metal band really. -

So after a lot of uncertainty I've finally decided to put my Thumb bass up for a sale. This was (and tonally still is) my dream bass however due to a recent house move and me being stupid when lifting laminated flooring I've seriously screwed up my lower back and shoulders. From taking the advice of many members on here I've decided to not risk making it any worse. Anyway, to the bass! This is a 2006 NT5 Thumb bass made in Germany Serial Number : D-124582-06 Description: Thumb Bass, 5-string Natural Oil finish Bubinga Pommele body Ovangkol neck Black hardware Condition is excellent as it's been well looked after (and infact has spent most of it's time with me in the case). I will include a Warwick handbook with this (the great big folder they give you) and some beeswax. I don't currently have any scales in this flat but if I remember correctly the bass weighs around 5.2/5.3 kg but I found that depending on what strap you were using the neck dive was either non-existent or horrendous (with a Levi leather strap I got no neck-dive). I'm open to trade ideas but please no 4 stringers, Fender, passive basses or P-basses as I just can't get on with either of them. Dingwall NG-2 is something I have my eyes on if anybody wishes to trade theirs! I do not have a case for this unfortunately as I only have one and use it for my ACG but will be very well packaged if I am having to post it. Based in Motherwell but could come into Glasgow if required. Any questions just ask t

All I can really say to this is that I wouldn't be prepared to risk my hearing for the sake of someone else.

I was 50 weeks on the dot waiting for my ACG. i was a horrible wait but well worth it!

Tonight's gig was...weird and enjoyable. My band (funk/proggy rock) get hired for a weird amount of metal gigs and tonight was one if those gigs. Never sold many tickets etc but had a great time overall with many compliments from people in the audience (majority of which probably never listen to anything other than metal). I had a lot of compliments but like most of us here I came across a bit of a twat when replying to them!

Never used the COG but unless it seriously impressed me (which I don't doubt it probably would!) B3K is my choice

Who's the finest luthier in all of...um....luthiery?
Cameronj279 replied to Funky Dunky's topic in Bass Guitars
I think if money was no object I'd go for a Carl Thompson. Although a Dingwall to my specs or a fan fret Über ACG would be on my list. -
If I get a spare hour I'll try and record some quick clips for you. Bit of a big if at the moment though!
-
Always loved his solo stuff and really enjoyed the Faceless' last album. E-mailed him about getting a lesson when he was on tour a year or two back but the gig got cancelled due to visa 'issues'. Shame!

Free Primus Manchester ticket (todays show)
Cameronj279 replied to Cameronj279's topic in General Discussion
Alternatively, any Manchester BC'ers got a spare room for the night?
Not an option sadly, too much work needing done around the flat -
Would love to try one of these! Congrats and such
-
Sorry mods if this isn't allowed but trying to get this to someone if possible (I do know it's a long shot though). I'm in motherwell (ML1 Postcode area) and have a ticket for what is now todays Primus show in Manchester. Due to getting the keys to a new flat on Friday and realising that flooring alone is around £1k I can't afford the hotel price. So if you can pick up the ticket from motherwell today and get yourself to the show you're welcome to come get it free of charge! Gutted about missing the show but must prioritize! Cameron
Watch it, buster.
Only place I've been where I permanently felt in danger. didn't like it one bit! On another note. I have to sell my ticket for the Manchester show unfortunately. happy to post next day recorded.
