1. If I tuck it between my legs can I answer this?
2.
How do you feel about spark plugs?
Love 'em.
3. I enjoy music better when the quality is better. Same as I enjoy a meal when the food is of better quality.
4. B.C Rich. I just don't get them in any way shape or form.
5. Got it a while ago but it was technically a christmas prezzie. Freltess OLP MM Also got the Bass Aerobics book which I'm looking forward to throwing myself into!
6. One of them is set up with a very low action, another with what I would say as slightly high action and the other (fretless) hasn't been set up yet but it will be getting set up as low as possible.
7. SECC was fairly pants when I went recently for Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie. Bass was almost impossible to hear for both bands. Saying that, not all big venues are bad. I saw Rammstein at the Manchester MEN Arena and it was the best gig sound-wise out of any gig I've been to this year (out of around 25+)
8. At the moment I'm trying Doxa by Monuments. After Christmas it shall be the bass aerobics book. Getting it as a gift
9. Know your enemy - Rage Against the Machine Rolling1000Toon - Maximum the Hormone Bouncing off clouds - Tori Amos
10. In defense of Android here. The Sony Experia is particularly good for this (better than iPhone imo). So i reckon its more to do with hardware than software.
11. Les Claypool and Ryan Martinie
12. "...and found" by Reflections. Some of the cleanest guitar work I've ever heard. Hard to think they're all only around 20 years old.
13. Can't say it's very Incubus style but this albums inspired me a good amount! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UnLNXquIBVs
14.
I have seen people running home from a venue to get their guitars/bass/sax to sit in for someone who failed to arrive or got waylaid. I did one this year where I had to get a sax player 10 minutes before we were due to start. Got him out of his dressing gown, dressed, driven across town and onto the stage to lead a sax/bass/drums trio
Thats just showing off!
15.
Well done mate. I've just agreed to sub for a mate and thought I had it bad learning about ten tracks over a fortnight, but three and a half hours takes the biscuit!
Hour and a half of that was spent travelling as well! I'll be honest, I never expected to be asked to step in for anybody! So I was kind of flattered at being asked!
16. Just home...went allright. Apparently only went out of key on one part of superstition (had played through once before) It was experience I suppose...people never complained so I shall take it as a "you were allright"
17. half an hour ago was asked by a friend to play for his band at a gig in roughly 3 and a half hours. I've only pplayed 3 gigs in my life so this is pretty nerve racking for me. Half hour set all songs I don't know yet (and im not even home right now to learn them!) Any advice to stop me from releiving myself with nerves on stage would be appreciated!
18. The guy/guys at Sei Bass will do a set up for £35...
19. I've noticed that in almost every band I've saw live (the good ones at least). The bass on its own doesnt sound great but when in the mix sounds fantastic! John Myungs bass tracks sound terrible but great when mixed (as people said).
20. I've done 3 gigs and been playing 2 and a bit years. If I didn't play between gigs I can't really say I'd know how to play the thing when a gig came around.

SOLD

It sucks being poor.
22. Any more notes and this will turn into a Dream Theater song. C#
23. Essentials? None. What I want? Justin Chancellors pedal room (I refuse to call that a board)
24. Farmhouse by Phish
25. The main difference I notice between my 34" and 35" is that chords are a little more of a strain to play (although the action is set higher than my 34") and that muted notes when playing fingerstyle are a lot clearer and firmer sounding. I don't know if that's due to the scale length or piezo pickup though. I like the feel of both but 34" definitely feels a lot more comfortable for me. I can't say scale length would sway my choice of wether to (or not to) buy a bass. Unless it was a short scale, in which case I wouldn't buy it...just hate the feel of them, feel like a guitar to me
