Sorry to hear about the amp. I remember having an Aria, back in the 80s. Lovely woods. I've just got back into bass, after a 5 year gap. I have a Fender Deluxe P-Bass Special (see my avatar) and a Roland Cube-100 combo. Cool amp but will need further gear, if I get back into gigging.
  2. Hi Steve and welcome. I'm a newbie too. So, what is your pride and joy?
  3. Thanks alot, for the welcome. Hey Telebass: my first ever bass, was a Columbus copy of a Telecater bass. It was the same colour as yours. I remember selling my racing bike to get it. It was £33 brand new, in the early 70s. BTW. I picked up a Roland Cube-100 bass combo, today. Really strong sound and remarkably loud for a 1X12. I also tried it, with a 1X15 Ashdown bass cab extension and it was pretty impressive.
  4. Nice Fenders there. And it's hard to beat the old Bassman amps. With flatwounds and bridge-foam, you must get quite a thump, from your set ups. All those chrome covers look cool but don't they get in the way, somewhat? Thanks for posting
  5. Hi there, I just joined the forum and thought I’d say hello. After a 5 year gap, of bass-less-ness, I got myself a Fender Deluxe Series P-Bass Special (phew! what a mouthful), on Xmas Eve. It’s in Blizzard Pearl and I really like it. Been a bassist since 13 and only had a break, when I got heavily into high-end acoustic guitars. Funny thing was, I’d intended to get a Rickenbacker 12-string but preferred a much cheaper Burns. This left cash, and I tried a Ricky 4003. I’d owned one, many years ago. But once again, I preferred the Fender. Amazing value. Now I need a decent combo and intend to find one, this week. Not too big but with a good sound. I love all sorts of music and have played in quite a few bands but my main passion, for most of that time, has been progressive and classic rock. I’ve owned a multitude of basses, over the years. The ones that stand out, are the Rickenbacker 4001, a Wal, a Goodfellow (probably the best bass I ever owned) and a Cort GB99B. Sorry to go on so much. I look forward to reading more of this forum.
