1. Looks like a Gen 2 Big Baby.
2. I believe there's a bass bash in/near the Toon this very weekend. Details here.
3. The Gallien Krueger MB Fusion can do what you want. It's a lightweight Class D with 3 valves in the preamp, 4 band EQ and 400 W into 4 ohms.
4. I play similar music with a GK Fusion 550 into a TKS S212 cab. Sometimes via a DHA VT1 drive. Its plenty loud enough, warm, and looks great. I previously had Barefaced cabs which were just as nice.
5.
I listen to both but it takes really bad lyrics to ruin a good tune for me whilst really good lyrics won't make me enjoy to a tune I don't like.
Exactly.
6. TKS are worth a look.
7.
Discovering and listening to bands has never been easier than with Deezer,Spotify, Youtube ect
This. I use Spotify and have actively been investigating bands from my own personal 'blind spot' recently. Led Zeppelin - listened. Hated them. Television - Loved them. The 5 Royales - awesome. Yuck - not sure yet. And that's just the last couple of weeks. There's so much out there, and it is very easy and worthwhile, imo, searching out and investigating bands that other people like. Some will become favourites, and others you'll know not to bother with again.
8. Did my first proper gig with my new TKS S212 last night. The sound was just right - warm, clear, punchy. I've also changed amps (GK MB Fusion to Fusion 550) so I can't ascribe the change to one thing or the other yet, but I'm very happy with the result.
9. Hi, I am selling my 3-unit rackmount flightcase by Flightcase Warehouse. As far as I can tell it is this one, with the short (30cm) internal body. Ideal for Class D heads etc. Collection from Harrogate preferred, or I can deliver to Leeds or York. Otherwise courier will be extra. Now £40 plus delivery Cheers, Martin. 10. Plus one for the Gallien Krueger amps. I have an MB 200 and an MB Fusion (500) and they're both awesome - loud and fantastic tone.
11. Sounds interesting, shame there's not a Leeds gig.
12. Now then, My little blues/soul combo will be playing at the Cross Keys in Knaresborough this Saturday night from around 9pm. First proper outing for my new GK Fusion 550 and TFS S212 rig - can't wait! Say hello if you happen to pop in. Cheers, Martin
13. If you thought it sounded muddy before.... Sorry, couldn't resist. I'd definitely recommend contacting Alex, and I hope it works out for you. In the meantime if you're stuck for any gigs, I might be able to help out. Martin
14. I didn't see it but went to see Peter Hook and the Light a while ago and they were fantastic, and I'm not even much of a fan. Live it all sounded superb, well worth going to see them in 2016.
15. At a recent Q&A session that Horace Panter did in Harrogate he was full of praise for John's drumming and general musicianship and said that John was the only member of The Specials who could improvise. Very sad.
16.
In a similar manner, perhaps the original faux pas by the creator of this topic is, maybe, now forgotten..? One may hope...
So what you're saying is, the longer we keep the thread going, the more likely it is that the OP's shame will be forgotten?
17. I went from a PF500 (which I liked, and didn't have any problems with) to a GK MB Fusion which I love. Very flexible tone-wise, powerful, and I've never had any issues with it. I'm in the process of deciding whether to keep the Fusion 550 I've recently bought, or the MB Fusion. They're both great...I think I prefer the sound of the 550 but much prefer the weight of the MB Fusion.
18. Mike Watt....right for (the US version of) the genre?
