I try not to go to any big gigs, just don't enjoy them, usually end up just feeling ripped off. Even seeing the absolutely brilliant Arctic Monkeys was a rubbis experience for me because of the venue. On the other hand, I could quite happily set up camp and live at the Brudenell in Leeds and go and see whoever's playing. Have been to quite a few gigs there over the last few years to bands I've hardly heard of, sometimes never heard, and haven't had a bad experience yet. Even Johnny Marr was ok on Tuesday! Next up is Mike Watt (whom I've seen before but have had no exposure to his current stuff) and then Melt Banana (whom I 've only just discovered and only heard a couple of things on youtube). Gigs like this are what keeps you alive.
