I have a lead (can't remember the make) that I've been using since 1987. I bought two at the time, but lost the other one at a jam night.

GAS strikes, so I'm selling some well-loved pedals to raise funds (therefore no trades). All are fully functioning, but unless I say so, I don't have any original boxes. Most have some residue of velcro/glue on the bottom. Let's say £4 P&P to add to each of these. MXR Stereo Chorus: This is a real vintage item, bought by me new in around 1980. I gigged a lot with it between then and 1986, then haven't really used it much since. Fully working. This is the original three knob version (Manual, Width, Speed) and has built in power (no adaptor necessary, and doesn't use batteries). These don't seem to come up very often. To me it (along with Oberheim synths) epitomise the sound of the 80's. [s]£125.[/s] £90 Fredric Effects Unpleasant Companion fuzz: Details here. This is a clone of the Shin-EiFY-2 fuzz. I bought it from Tayste here a couple of years ago I think. It later developed a problem so I got in touch the the maker who couldn't find any problem but sent me a new one anyway (top bloke). There's one word to describe this - harsh! If you like extreme fuzz, this is the pedal for you. I've got fuzz well and truly covered with my 1976 Colorsound Tonebender, so have never really used this. [s]£50.[/s] £40. Ibanez CF7 Chorus/Flanger: I've never really used this. Its got a reasonable range of sounds but I just don't have any use for it. [s]£40.[/s] £30. Ibanez FL9 Flanger: Another vintage item, this is from the early 80's. Very highly regarded on this site (http://www.pedalarea.com/flangers.htm) and rightly so. Its made in Japan, and has the black label with silver writing on the back so therefore one of the early ones (around 1982). I'm not really a fan of modulation effects, but even I think this sounds great on bass or guitar. [s]£100.[/s] [s]£55.[/s] SOLD DHA VT1 Bass Compressor: Highly regarded valve compressor. I bought it off here at a bargain £50 a couple of years ago. At the time I thought it was a bit noisy so I got in touch with the maker (Dave Hall) who then upgraded some of the compenents to the latest spec (this is an early one, s/n 429, from September 2007) which made a difference. I then bought a recommended power supply which made a bigger difference. Recently I had a problem with it and sent it back to Dave who has tidied up some solder joints and given it a clean bill of health. In all (excluding postage) its cost me about £110. But I'm afraid compression just doesn't do anything for me (although the valve certainly warms up my PF500, I've now got a VT1 Bass Drive that does that nicely). Selling for [s]£75. £65.[/s] SOLD Boss CS-3 Compression Sustainer with Monte Allum upgrade: This works well on bass and guitar. To me the Monte Allum upgrade made a big difference, cleaning and tightening up the sound. Again, I just don't use compression. I do have the original box for this. [s]£60. £50[/s]. SOLD Payment by cash, bank transfer or Paypal gift. PM me if you'd\like any more pics. Cheers, Martin

Second gig for my blues band last night. Went well, apart from a couple of uncharacteristic blunders from me - started 2 songs in the wrong key! Golf club gig, nice venue with plenty of room and a friendly crowd.

Very sad news. Dunn + Jackson = rythym section heaven. RIP.

Chord Structures for Electric Bass - a bit beyond me...
Kirky replied to thepurpleblob's topic in Theory and Technique
Its not an 11th, but an augmented 11th (written in your post as #11). I think... -
Ball of Confusion ...or The Night ...or What Becomes of the Brokenhearted... I can't decide!

I like mine, although I do have to press the -15dB button to get a clean sound (using my active Mex Precision Deluxe). But isn't that what it's there for?

FEELER: withdrawn due to work contraints.

I enjoyed the whole show (Later) and I really can't remember the last time I thought that. Norah Jones was great too.

[sub]You really want sparse songs. How about "Ain't No Sunshine". Suzanne Vega does "Left of Centre" with just bass.[/sub] [sub][sub][/sub][/sub]

I use a PF500 with a VT1 (into a Compact). Works brillantly for me.

I play in a blues band (guitar, bass, drums, vocal) with a valve compressor warming up my Class D amp, and a valve overdrive, the latter just used sparingly. Can't imagine what other effects I'd want in this context.

Just bought a cab from Jon. Deal done in a day (paid and delivered to my bro-in-law) from 250 miles away. Great communicator and thoroughly recommended. Martin

Mr. Hardearly UK Tour !! Looking for Blues Clubs and Pubs in Newcastle Area !!
Kirky replied to funkydario's topic in Gigs
Try the Blues Bar in Harrogate and the Duck and Drake in Leeds. Both regularly feature blues bands but I'm not sure they pay as much as £400. -
