If it really was D# major, what would be the relative minor? - B#minor. It makes much more sense to use Eb major and its relative minor, C minor. That's how I I work out how to describe a note or chord. If the relative major or minor wouldn't commonly be used, I start to think I've got it wrong.

[/quote] I was trying to be faithful to the key signature, and also have as few accidentals as possible. The run E#, F(sharp), F double sharp, G (sharp) would only need 2 accidentals (the sharps in brackets covered by the key signature). Your suggestion of F natural, F sharp, G natural and G sharp would need 4 accidentals. I'm not sure putting the chord symbols/names helps, because the bass line is just a chromatic run under fairly simple chords in this case. Or am I missing something?

I've just joined a blues band so have been busy learning new tunes. I've done a transcription of Albert King's Born Under A Bad Sign - would be grateful for any feedback. I used Noteflight (an excellent free online tool) and saved it as a PDF. I'd rather have used a F double sharp than the G natural where it appears, but don't know how to do double sharps using Noteflight. Cheers, Martin

Its not quite the same (C# major instead of minor, and double length) but you might be able to do something with You Got The Love - the first 2 chords are the defining feature. Can't think of anything else just now.

I always thought they were a second rate Husker Du, although still not bad.

That looks great. I've recently bought a MIM Precision Special Deluxe which is black with a gold pickguard and P/J pickups. I've been thinking of rewiring it to passive and putting on a tort pickguard. Its a very cool looking bass.

Bought a MIM Fender P Active Deluxe from Si. No problems at all, good communication, the bass (which he sold on behalf of a friend) was exactly as described. Cheers mate, Martin

Mine has arrived and sounds fantastic through my compact. The only problems are the loud fan and I'm getting an annoying buzz when using the headphones - anyone else getting this? I've tried different leads and basses and the headphones are fine using other sound sources.

Great instrument - I'd love to have a go. Tried the tablas recently - unbelievably difficult to play properly.

How did this work out? I've got a Compact and am considering heads. The LH500 seems to be excellent value for money.

I was also lucky enough to see him in the late 70s or early 80s at some festival in NZ when I was a teen. Solo performance with lots of loop/echoplex going on. He had everything really, great playing, voice and songwriting. I saw him a year or two before he died with Danny Thompson in Leeds at the City Varieties and he still had it.

£299 for the PF500 at Andertons at the moment!!
