50 gigs & the Orange Tiny Terror is dead !
punkypuncher replied to punkypuncher's topic in General Discussion
I wouldn't take an amp out of the box and gig it without switching it on and burning it in for 30 mins, no matter if it was a cheapie I was lucky enough to nab at trade price or a £2000 custom handmade job. #justsayin'
Just too let you know, the Orange cut the mustard,it rocked the place. Game on for a cheapie -
did you buy this brand new and provided receipts etc.. if not and it's over a year, I'd say you've done very well mate. Not all amp companies would do that without a fight. New have a new one now Are you sure your comments shouldn't be 'thanks Orange, let's see how this goes'?
Yes was purchased new,on return i didnt have to show receipts as im a trader,IE own a Music Store,so get trade prices. I'm not even going to try this amp 1st,got 2 gigs this weekend, starting tonight,so lets see if it cut's the mustard. I do hope so,just so i can retain my faith in Orange. Ampeg,i'm looking at a back up Amp. -
In what manner did the amp die? Did it cut out completely, or is it an intermittent fault? Did all the LEDs go out or did they stay on and just no sound? More info will help indicate the fault to the more experienced tech-savvy posters.
Ok,it just died, light on front went out, then faded on & off ,like there was some kind of power loss. Hence why we changed the power lead, then changed the valves. i'm baffled by this. -
Just done my 50th gig with my Orange Tiny terror, but tonight it died on me,never had a problems as yet. So after having to go via the PA witht the bass,in the interval we checked every thing, valves were changed, power lead. So on with the second set,3 songs later and what do ya know,it's died again. Well have i found a fault with these so called worhorse amps ! or have i killed it. Never used passed 2nd notch & gain is et at 2 to 3,so i'v hardly cained it. Any idea's Basschatters !!!!! Orange i will be on the blower on Monday.

Drummers - where are the good ones
punkypuncher replied to thunderbird13's topic in General Discussion
A Drummer is the most important member of a band,he is your driving force, loads of dodgy drummers out there. there are only a handful of good drummer in each town. -
Anyone know of a double bass tutor (rockabilly style) in Dorset. I'm not far from Bournemouth.

we use a Peavey escort 150 watt PA,all in 1 compact bit of kit. Speaker on stands, and not on floor, which is common sence really. works much better floor monitors, and takes up less room in the motor than wedge shaped boxes. Proberly pick 1 up on the cheap too. We could not go back to floor monitors. Hope that helps PP

I have been gigging Orange Terror bass amp, with superb results, the sound fills the stage aswell as every venue we play (pubs circuit). Useing ampeg cabs ie 4x10/1x5 with the Terror head stacked on top. best map i ever had, without a doubt. As far as Ashdown go,well i would give them a miss . Oh just the bulb went on the 1st gig,but replacement sent from Orange after a moan. ORANGE TERROR BASS HEAD R O C K S !
