The Coolest Bass Player On The Planet
punkypuncher replied to Pete Academy's topic in General Discussion
LEMMY is cool for being himself and still standing. John Enwhistle for coolest playing style -
Bass player required to join 3 piece punky/crunchy style melodic band. Good solid straight player with backing vocals. This will be more suited as a side project,so minimal selected gigs. Mostly original material, with a few covers thrown in the bag. Good gear & transport needed. Bournemouth/Dorest area's.

Status Graphite Lined Fretless 4 String Bass
punkypuncher replied to dodgnofski's topic in Basses For Sale
Hi Guys, Errrrrrrrrr - does anyone wish to swap their fretted Status for my Lined Fretless jobbie ?? - but must be headless like this one. You'd have thought that my 'mates' - having heard me caterwauling on my Squier Fretless - also for sale - strangely enough - would have said - 'buy one with frets if you are going to spend that much money - please'?? I should have realised at my age that a cloth eared old bint like me was never going to master a fretless bass - even 'with' chalk marks !! - I kept thinking 'maybe it will all click tomorrow' - but it never did! I watch in amazement at my friend playing his 6 string fretless - with 'no' chalk marks 'or' side markers!! - how the heck do you fretless Guys do it?? - 'we are not worthy'!! I believe it's a Series 2000 all Graphite beauty in exceptional condition for any age, let alone a 25 year old Classic & very lightweight for a Status - under 9lbs! Fitted with Status Hot Wire black nylon coated strings, so combined with the Graphite neck & Phenolic fingerboard - it's fast & sleek - (obviously 'too' fast & sleek for an old plodder like me) ! Complete with Status 5 Star Full Flightcase. Or would be asking for £895 ono for a straight sale & will obviously consider a p/x - so W.H.Y?? Pick up prefered, but it's OK if you are a scrillion miles away & wish to arrange your own courier - as my logistics are on a par with my playing ability ! Love this bass,if i sell my motorbike,i'll have it for sure. Thanks Guys - sorry to be a pain - 'yet again' !!
-
TINY TERROR BASS AMP,THE BEST I EVER HAD.
i've almost listed this a couple of times but bottled it and i'm still not sure i wanna do this but its not getting used as much as it should so here goes! trade offers only at the moment as i wanna see what else is around... apologies for the tentative nature of the thread, the thing is i really like this bass, the graphite neck is a joy to play and the 18v electronics sound incredible but... its just not me! i can't see me ever using it live and it seems stupid to have it sat in its case. also sorry for the vagueness of trade details but there's not really anything i'm currently after (apart from a semi-acoustic guitar) so i'm open to ideas really. comes in a hardcase, which looks like this: condition wise its good but not great, its been played alot and has a few bits of damage here and there, although its more worn than battered, the body's pretty spotless but the gold on the bridge and saddles has worn through in places, see pics: the neck has a bit of buckle rash (!) on the back and a couple of chips on the end of the... er... stump?! (what's the end of a headless bass neck called?) anyway more pics to stop the rambling: so... whatcha got?
Hi,i gotta Schector bass on here if your interested mate, superb finish, along with slick neck and fully active with great tones. is like new.
-
Schector Photo Flame Active Bass i believe it is from the diamond series . Active electrics,2 volume and 2 tone controls. superb low slick action, with a stonking sound. i originally purchased this bass 4 years back for a photo shoot, i did use it at 1 gig for a couple heavier tunes,& found this a really lovely bass to play with a good various of tones. The finish is a real eye catching flame with tribal markings up the fretboard as I'm not using the bass anymore at this point, i guess it's time for a new home. Oh the was new when before my ownership Is in very good condition May swap or trade for a good headless bass
I can usually spot a guitarist playing bass, it generally comes out as complete mush - I've always found that drummers make quite good bass players though...
I always found drummers make good tea or sheds.
I've got a budget of about £500 to spend on a head - I've been looking at the Ashdown Little Bastard and the Bass terror. I played the Little bastard through the 2x12 cab and it sounded absolutely great. I was playing it in the shop though so couldn't really test volume! I've also looked at the bass terror but havn't been able to play it yet, just wondering what peoples opinions are? I'm looking for something loud enough to rehearse and gig with my punk band, studio work (with punk band and folk band...) and something not too expensive. And small! Cheers guys! Z
I just done 4 gigs with an Orange Terror bass head via Ampeg 4x10 into 1x15 cabs i have a job to get this stack above number 1,possible number 1 3/4 for ace of spades. I a punk rock bassist myself,n these Orange heads are the Bollocks without a doubt. having used a Orange tiny terror for guitar in my other bands, same again it's rock the smallest venues to the festival gigs. I lost count the amount of times other muso's have asked about my Orange sound. Size of a toaster, sound of a tornadio. BUY 1,you WONT LOOK BACK.........

First Act Delgada Bass! USA Custom Shop! SOLD!!!
punkypuncher replied to prengel_basser's topic in Basses For Sale
up for sale is my First Act Delgada bass! these are produced by the USA First Act Custom Shop (which is headed by old Gibson Custom Shop members) in very limited Editions. the First Act Instruments are well known in the amerikan rock-scene. they have an excellent reputation! This bass costs 1800dollars in the US, and shipping plus fees make it even more expensive... in my opinion this bass is much like a Gibson RD/thunderbird but without all the weak points of these basses: - with a relatively good strap, there is no neck dive! - it has a super massive hipshot bridge and hipshot ultrlight tuners. - the body is made of alder, and the neck is maple (very fender like...) - the neck width feels a bit a like jazz bass, but the profile is really more precision like.. (really great neck!!!) - the finish reminds me of the old gibson classics - it has a bolt on neck with great playability and a superb neck joint. - the pickups are custom made by Kent Armstrong, they sound super thick and 60´style - the knobs are vol/vol/tone (like a jazz bass) the condition is very good! there a two dings, I can post pics from (if required). It plays really nice and the trussrod works like a dream. the bass comes with a high quality custom case! here is a review with Ed Friedland: http://www.myspace.com/video/vid/30743108 this is the First Act site: http://www.firstact.com/ the price is: 900euros / 800pounds the bass is located in germany, but I will ship international of course! please contact me per mail: best wishes from germany! stefan
I LOVE THAT BASS -
