1. We do several, but the most successful are probably Walking on sunshine into Walk like an egyptian, or Heaven is a place on earth into Easy Lover
2. Definitely hike the price. Everything else has been said above. I have yet to play a "bad " wedding. I've been soundman at one for another band (who aren't that impressive) but otherwise, no bad weddings
3. No one have any ideas?
4. Afternoon I have a lovely new strap, however it is really thick I am struggling to put my schaller strap locks on it, and actually found that one flew off mid gig last week. Are there any strap locks that have a longer "thread" for the nut?

SOLD

Any interest in a '51 P reissue for trade? Searching on behalf of my brother!
6. Any interest in a '51 re-issue P trade? (My bro is looking to trade it for something more "versatile" so having a search through BC for him)
7. Another +1, have one for my barefaced midget. Superb
8.
Best sound I ever heard was Jack Bruces sound on Cream's live version of 'Crossroads'. A definite inspiration on me.
That is really well done and sits well in the mix. The playing, although busy also really works too.
9.
Yep, that'll do for me.

I always loved Kasim Sultan's playing and tone on L by Steve Hillage . A superb and underrated player . It's a shame he ended up in Meatloaf .

So many different tones that are great. It's horses for courses. I think it's actually hard to get an overdriven bass tone just right; Justin Chancellor on 10,000 days nails it..but to my ears Geddy Lee has got it wrong over the last few years (Rush fans, I am one of you don't hurt me!). Personally this is the one that ticks all of my boxes. youtu.be/Rf6tp2c6nMM

youtube.com/watch?v=ddOFtHP3oS8 And at 1:44 in this video. Love it! youtube.com/watch?v=g7A8wwduI6U
I love all of these. All for different reasons.
10. Am back in the market for one of these, having sold mine previously due to cash restrictions. However playing in an 80s band kind of lends itself to steinburger style basses..... the bass on these is "HUGE"
11. Anti climatic warning :Turned out rather well. Both couples were a lot older. Around 50 or so. We had the younger generations dancing whilst our dj had all the older ones with older songs. As they were older it was more a party for a parties sake so they weren't really bothered about the whole shared thing.
12. Really liking "Give life back to music"
13. Searching the Internet suggests its not as uncommon as first thought. I agree sounds like a recipe for disaster though!
14. Has anyone ever done a "Double Wedding"? Tomorrow sees my latest project doing our first wedding, and it is also my first "Double Wedding" (Done probably around 100 weddings with various other bands before) The idea is simple - One venue, one church, a lot of the same set of friends - share the costs etc One thing i'm not looking forward to is the "2 emotional brides to potentially piss off" I can forsee one group saying turn it up, the other saying turn it down. (you get the idea) Should be a laugh anyway, 2 first dances, dont know which one is going first!
15. I just voted based on my first impressions. Didn't sit there listening hard for nuances, just went with the one that sounded most natural. May not be technically the best, but it was the most listenable to me. A couple of them were downright horrible (no offense to whoever made them) through my headphones at work.
16. Wrong part of the country, sorry bud
17. Placed my vote because of the signiture link, so its working Ps, the band name amused me, because our old quiz team back at uni was "Uncle Dad and the Family Secret"
18.
Might have to watch the girlie one again just to determine which one's best
purely for research purposes ?
19.
Definitely. I wonder of the album that song is on all sounds like that? Sooooooo Police sounding, I love it. This live version is excellent:
I see your great version of the song, and raise you a lot of attractive girls. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5gpOpHbECk
20.
Definitely. I wonder of the album that song is on all sounds like that? Sooooooo Police sounding, I love it. This live version is excellent:
There is a video of him playing with sting. I'll have a look for it. Apologies if it's already been posted, can't see videos on my phone
21. I know at least two goodones in Cambridge but they both have no transport!
22. I assume it's bury up norf and not bury st Edmunds?
23. It is slightly disturbing that everyone is assuming walking when you say Jazz., Its not necessary for all jazz
24. Blue Bossa is a perfect starting point for the more latin styles, learning about the pushed 2's etc
25. In my 80s band, We have an intro of a collage of clips from back to the future, and we launch into power of love...
