2.
sweet child of mine - GnR
Ye a great bass intro by everyone knows guitar riff....

4.
Speaking of Adele songs, I tried chasing pavements but they just lie there and let you catch them. Where's the fun in that?
Lets be honest, if you have trouble chasing pavements then somethings wrong! I did however manage to get this:
5. Anyone managed to get the moon to go round the sun ? ( Vanessa Williams)
6. And no matter how hard I tried, I was unable to stop the sun going down on me
7. I've also never found the muscle museum
8.
Wrong sort of rain then
You need purple rain.
9. In Cambridge , there are 4 weekly jam nights. Two are as described with12 bar and variations on that. One is jazz and has people with charts giving you random stuff and the last one is anything goes. I've played bossa I've played pop I've played just about everything from John legend to stevie wonder via van halen and foo fighters. By far the best. Used to run for 5 hours from 9-2am before noise complaints too. Oh and there is a chronic lack of bassists here. I often play entire jam sessions maybe minus one so a guitarist can play bass whilst I get beer.
10.
Not sure why you would need a DI after the splitter? Unless you are going through the PA as well? Jas
Running a bass and a keyboard (powered from ipad) into a bass amp. I would have thought there might be variance in signal levels? (ie might be quieter coming from bass or something) and to prevent change going LOUD SUDDENLY
11.
I have a behringer one that you can have for a tenner.
is it one of these : Behringer DI20 Ultra-DI 2 Channel Di Box/Splitter ? If so I want one with a stomp not a button.
12.
I have the Boss A/B Footswitch http://www.gak.co.uk/en/boss-ab-2/1266 Its £35 and works well. 2 inputs and one output - or 1 input and 2 outputs. Just switch between the 2, nice and simple. Jas
Perfect. I would imagine If i'm going with 2 instruments into one amp that it would be sensible to put a DI after the splitter?
13. I'm looking for a cheap AB Splitter so that I can connect both my Keyboard (Keytar rather) and my Bass into my Bass Amp Ideally would have to be a stomp box. Has anyone been able to find anythign in the uk for under 100 quid? ps. Should this be here or in effects? Not sure!
14. I saw this and thought, this wouldn't be about that..... I've just learnt the part from Jammin/Master Blaster (Its very similar, all pentatonics)
15. I use one for a backup (although currently it is my main rig due to problems) and they are pretty nift. I picked mine up 2nd hand on BC though.
16. How old are you? Have you actually made a claim (ie protected NCB) Add a parento r somethign who has 25 years on it
17. Line 6 Variax Bass 700 in Black. For sale: Variax Bass 700 in Black. Minimal usage, just a few rehearsals and practices. I am selling as I am looking to simplify my rig and have my eye on something else, I can't keep collecting basses! This bass is a lot of fun, looks good and makes great sounds. A modelling bass, it aims to recreate the sound of some classic electric, acoustic and even synth basses: 1961 Fender Jazz 1960 Fender Jazz (flat-wound strings) 2004 Fender Deluxe Jazz 1961 Fender Jazz Fretless 1963 Precision Bass 1958 Precision Bass (flat-wound strings) 1977 Musicman Stingray 2003 Modulus Flea 1971 Rickenbacker 4001 1963 Rickenbacker 4001 (flat-wound strings) 1966 Danelectro Longhorn 1963 Hofner 500/1 (flat-wound strings) 1963 Gibson Thunderbird 1966 Gibson EB2D (flat-wound strings) 2002 MTD 535 2003 Warwick Thumb 1978 Alembic Long Scale 1984 Steinberger XL2 1968 Hagström H8 1994 Hamer B12A Tacoma Thunderchief Kay M1 Double Bass Mini Moog Modern Bass Synth This guitar is pretty rare now, as they have stopped manufacturing them, so here is your opportunity! Includes the original gig bag (which is actually the best bass case I have ever owned), the power supply / DI unit – plus a decent stereo cable for connecting this up and the user guide. This bass has a great neck and is in near perfect condition, no dings or scratches and has been looked after well. The only thing I have ever had to do is spray a wee bit of contact cleaner at the bridge to get rid of a slight bit or crackle on one string which it had when I first got it (from the Bass Gallery in London) since then it has been absolutely fine. This bass costs about 700 new, I paid 550 in a shop so I am selling for £450. Prefer Collection in Cambridge, can meet within a 30 minute drive of Cambridge, any further or courier at buyers cost. Here is a basic video demo I have done: http://videobam.com/sbrJk
18.
Hmm, I find wearing a suit/shirt/tie at work to be the 2nd most ridiculous thing to be forced to wear. The first - "smart/casual". I refuse to go anywhere that has this dictat.
I wear t shirt and jeans to work with black shoes for smart ...
19.
If I could get paid for wearing things I would wear whatever you want.
Mankini?
20. Are we talking only root octave ? Do things like Master blaster qualify ? Blame it on the boogie octaves tasty
21. Various costumes a la village people. Although I prefer the flight suit
22.
do they work for checking house hold circuits ? am i thinking of the same thing ? detect a current ? Il have it if you still have it. i mess about with elecricity all the time.
I'd suggest that if you are unsure how to use it that it is probably a bad idea to try things like that for your safety. Multimeters typically used in smaller applications.
23. Been on holiday but after the post to the rockband keyboard that got me thinking. Rockband keyboard ~£30-40 Irig midi http://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/irigmidi/ (£40 ish) Maybe the moog app? £6 Under 100 quid. Got to be worth a go !?
24. Thanks for all the information chaps. Part of the reason for a keytar over a normal keys is because we a) already have a keys player (keys, guitar bass, vox and drums is lineup). We actually run a second keybaord stand on stage with some patches for me or the guitar to play stuff on, but it was more about expanding it a bit. I've never had a great deal of success with the synth sounds i've made using my zoom b2. I guess its also because I like to move about on stage that I considered it. @eskimo, I was under the impression that is how the one I linked in OP worked too. It just seemed interesting that one would be able to use iPhone to control it. Maybe i'm easily impressed @charic, whats the best wood for keyboards......
25.
The thing with most keytars that they are rather large and and ungainly compared to the average guitar and bass. The only one I've ever been comfortable with was the Yamaha KX5 which is a more manageable size due to having shorter length (but still full width) keys. And completely authentic in style for an 80s band: However, have you considered instead getting a more guitar-like controller such as the Yamaha EZ-EG? Much more comfortable to play if you are used to playing the guitar and more accurate than a pitch-to-MIDI system.
I'm not at all a guitarist, only a bassist and part time keyboard player. I'm just looking really for the easiest way to get some good bass synth noises, and was just considering the possibility of a key tar with some good patches set up. (partly as a joke, but in theory seems like it could work?) In reality, I should imagine a good synth pedal would be best, but that is expensive. (I also play a 35 inch 5 stringer so used to bigger basses)
