Is this the sort of thing that you're looking for? https://jamm.rocks/adult-workshops (For conflict of interest purposes, I run this!) -

Up for sale is my much loved DI 2112. For those unaware, essentially it is two SansAmp RPM preamps being run in parallel: the "Deep" and the "Drive". Deep is preset to a solid thick clean sound (with a saturation control), and the Drive section is the full RPM preamp. This then feeds 5 outputs (Deep XLR, Deep 1/4", Drive XLR, Drive 1/4", 1 pass through/tuner out) giving lots of routing options. You can also combine the two sections within the pedal via a little switch accessible through the battery compartment (it runs off of 2 x 9v, or an 18v DC input - not included). It's a really versatile preamp, not just for Geddy style rush sounds - one of my favourite sounds is to set the Drive section to be "mids only" - kill the bass and treble, push the mids and the drive to give a really creamy mid-range, but still leaving the clarity from the Deep section. There are also various switches (mute, pad etc.), but the best is the "tight" switch, which just turns the drive into a super focused sound. So why am I selling given how good this is? I've moved to a Quad Cortex setup, and as much as I love running this in parallel I just can't justify it. I've also go another little one on the way, and I could do with the extra cash! It's in near perfect condition (other than the velcro on the bottom, which I can remove if you like), with the original box. I can post for an additional £10, or collection from East Grinstead.

I don't think I would recommend the Tonehammer DI for modern sounding DI; it's got quite a vintagey sound. Maybe look at the Aguilar AG preamp?

Billy Sheehan fan at all? Mine is currently at my Mum's (Peavey Milestone III) where it has been for the last 15 years. Pulled all the frets out of it as soon as I heard Jaco; I should probably pick it up at some point (although the G string machinehead is knackered)

"Sirerays" listed on Andertons (and probably other places)

OK, that sounds the part (or at least close enough) and doesn't look as "obese" in the hand. Really like the sound of the single cut too: -
Good luck getting it back; Overwaters are definitely a bucket list instrument for me, but never the one I currently need
-
Oh that's cool, having NE attached should be a big pull. I honestly think they underpriced these; I reckon we would see more out there if they were 1.5-2x the price

Correct, assuming you don't want to capture the sound of the cab/mic too

I was eyeing this one up, so I'm glad I haven't got to make any tough decisions any more! Beautiful bass, I'd love to see a video or two!

Technically it's a "competition" as you have to answer a question, and you can enter free by post; the classic get around for running "gambling that isn't gambling"

The Joe Dart III - New Joe Dart Musicman Signature Bass
Killerfridge replied to greentext's topic in General Discussion
Fair, I've probably read into the comments a bit much and hate is totally the wrong word; I think I'm conflating the dislike of EBMM charging £2k for a shortscale simple P bass (which I think is the correct opinion) with the dislike of Vulf as a band (also a reasonable opinion, just not one I hold). I think the "The result is jazz funk with a raised eyebrow played by music college kids." comment hit a nerve, despite the fact it is demonstrably true! I retract my statement, but leave the comment there for posterity; carry on! -
Spot on, that Tom Sawyer was flawless

Disagree on point one, but I guess that's the joy of art Point 2: They're a concept band based in the 60's/70's, and I guess you either enjoy that or you really don't; I'm surprised at the amount of hate they seem to get on here though -

Oh yeah, it sold out within the hour. I understand collectors getting them, but I think anyone buying it to sound like JD should listen to Vulfmon's poem about tools and creativity: -

I saw Joe in Brixton last year as part of Theo Katzmans band; killer gig, best I've been to in forever. That MSG gig though, that's something else. -

I want to say that that's the point; he's got EBMM to build him (and supply him with) the three basses that he used and likes; a passive Stingray with only a volume knob (Carlos Robelli), a passive jazz (mexi j) and a short scale P with only a volume knob (Jacks precision bass jr). The fact they sell them too is just EBMM making money where they see a market. I think the video of them explaining the JDII and how much of a piss take it is I think sums it up. They're not the ones selling it, they're just happy to accept the business handout -
