[i]this is my take,[/i] [i]a while ago I saw a interview with carmine rojas,the bass player with joe bonamassa,[/i] [i]the interviewer said to him,[/i] [i]you did not do a solo tonight why?[/i] [i]he replied[/i] [i]well its my job to make him sound good not to star,[/i] [i]I play what is needed,[/i] [i]so this is a guy thats played with bowie ect a fantastic player,[/i] [i]but here is the rub,[/i] [i]a selfless player who has the talent and then some to star,good song writer [/i] [i]but does the job thats required,[/i] [i]and to me thats what all of these named players do,[/i] [i]their playing might not float everyones boat,and a few here would say they could do better[/i] [i]but the fact is they are not,and the guys in said bands are[/i] [i]this is not a dig at any previous posts[/i] [i]just my opinion,[/i] [i]oh and yes I have in my time said the very same things,I could better ect,[/i] [i]but now in the twilight of my bass playing time after thirty something years playing,and in the early years[/i] [i]a little bit of success and fun,I think well done to all their continued success[/i] [i]cheers[/i] [i]stef[/i]

What is strange is that the man himself has not been back not a word.maybe we are not worthy or he is away gigging in country pubs with his band and is too busy still there we go cheers stef

well I am glad thats me told, I am going to have ritual burning of my gallien kruger setup and santa wil bring me a ampeg or something then I can obviously try and join a groovin band with heavy riffs, thanks very much for showing me the right path cheers stef

for me I am really liking the playing of carmine rojas at present with joe bonamassa, a five string player on the blues is a bit unusual just plays some sweet stuff,his older stuff with bowie ect is also very good cheers stef

well I was in london today, went into wunjo,met one of the sales guys lawrence was his name,cool guy,if you want to try anything no problem,I goes and tries a black musicman, I had been playing a bit,some other people came in,started to feel a bit guilty so says to the guy I will stop and let the other people have a go,its ok he said you carry ontheres lots of room anything else you want to try, what a joy to go into a store in denmark street and not be treated like pooh as has happened to me and others in the past,will I buy for sure they will get my money,top job guys

yeh you all right we should never forget, we enjoy the freedoms that other gave their lives for, for me it was brought home today,my brother he posted a film of my father with a brown bear that he looked after in the second world war,called woytek,the bear carried ammo alongside my father who was one of the polish soldiers at monte cassino,although he survived,I have a charcoal drawing of my father done by his best friend in the days before the battle,he sadly was killed,as the poles were used as cannon fodder and this drawing was one of the only things to survive, sorry to go on, its just the post made me think again as it would have been dads birthday a couple of days ago, cheers stef

[i]have had a squier jazz for years[/i] [i]bought my first one 25 years ago,as I was wanting a backup bass [/i] [i]and I still have it,also got a vm fretless a year ago a fine thing,[/i] [i]both standard,but with very light strings[/i] [i]so now my 69 jazz is for home use only,for the last 15 years,[/i] [i]great basses would buy another one no problem[/i]

well they were playing a track this morning on radio 2, the ken bruce show,sounded mighty fine to me you can here it on the reply version of the show cheers stef

very good player, has done loads of some of the best known would be stuff like the funk me tender,album I bought a tutorial video that he did about 20 years ago,he shows you how does stuff but I thought he just got straight for that video shoot only,still learned some stuff though cheers stef
