I've had the 540A for about 5 years now and its been awesome. Best of luck with the sale - I simply cant justify a use for a second one right now!
Ok, so I'm thinking I need to get rid of my Ashdown rig. Its an ABM500RC and two mini 48 cabs. The cabs are flight cased in purple ABS cases, and have had the old blue speakers taken out and replaced with Ashdowns newer black lighter and more powerful speakers.
What do you think? Anybody after that sort of thing? I'm not sure about a price yet... I understand that the flight cases will be worth hardly anything of the original price, but they are pretty good and in really good condition.
Send me a message if you think you might be into it or any part of it.

Hi Jimmy,
Just a quick reminder to let you know its forum policy to quote prices when you put items up for sale. I appreciate this is a feeler so if your not sure of the right price to ask have a wonder over to the amps and cabs section and ask! I happen to be very interested myself...
Thanks! -
I've always had a thing for that Status eclipse of yours. If you dont mind me asking, whats the going rate for one of those? Feel free to PM me!

I used to love my GT6-b! Alas this is a little out of my price range right now. Let me know if it drops at all man
-
how much do you value it at?

Do us all a favour and buy one of those vibrating board thingies!
Ive only seen a couple on here so far, plus mine.
I sold mine for £350 (IIR) and that was with a Nordy in it so that brings it in line with the price of a SUB.
I know what i would buy given the choice (and having owned both).
If anyone reading has one up for £350 I'd take it! -
I'd prefer to stick to my way TBH. It does not take long at all to email attachments. A lot less time than lifting the info from the various spreadsheets and making them work in forum post (which would take ages!).
As for Primus, all I have is a VHS...."Cheesy Home Video".
Thanks for the suggestion anyhow guys.
you could just attach the spreadsheet on your first post, update it occasionally. I know I'm much more likely to buy something off you that way! -
the SWR amplite is 400 into 4ohms, might not be quite the power your after though.
-
I'll give it a listen tomorrow but I'm a huge fan of your artwork so far matt

As far as double thumbing is concerned, Ive been trying to get this down for a while now. You really do need a bass with a super low action and some low tension strings - or thumbs of steel!
Playing with a plectrum has never really appealed to me, the only time I enjoy it is with a P bass on full tilt through an ampeg. and If im completely honest none of the lines that sound good that way are particularly hard work! -
Some nice elements! But im surprised at the amount of finger noise you can hear! Come on lads, tidy up yer technique like...!
-
I missed his Clarky! That Pino is one of my all time favourite basses.
I must admit ive only ever played two MM Stingrays but my Ray34 felt better than both. could be a set up issue as both were in shops but straight out of the box my Ray34 felt very comfortable.
I really cant wait for the SBMMs to start popping up second hand. I really cant justify paying full whack at the moment but boy do I want one... -
I was going to nip to Maplins to get some but judging by there website they don't sell it,does anyone know of any retailers that do?
B&Q perhaps? I think I just ordered mine from ebay -
I tried the 4 string version and its been the only bass to really blow me away all year
Felt so solid and ready in my hands! -
Cheeky bump

Turns out that having too much mojo often leads to a rash
Could the cabs be out of phase with each other?
I was going to suggest this. I used to have 2 warwick neo cabs, and the volume almost halved when they where both turned on together! -
man I want one of those! Any idea where to buy them new?
-
Glad this worked out for you Tom! I really like the Nemesis combos - I had an 8x10 one once!
err you're right, it looks bigger and heavier! prob sounds lush though!
oh and the Cab is spoken for, but is going no where till the amp goes.
Haha, Its actually tiny and lightweight! Under 10kg for an all valve head. keep it in mind! -
hey bass london, I Pm'd you last night, Did you get it?
-
I was looking at these as well not so long back. I decided against it simply due to the lack of reviews and the usual "it looks too good to be true" philosophy!
Personally, I'd save some dough and get Lysdesxias Ashdown ABM combo or similar.
Any examples?

my old lot, Myth of Unity had a mixture of live and programmed drums live and in the studio. We had some metal-ish sections but I think those parts where more live drumming.
This is a good example, programmed hi hats in the faster sections over the live drums etc.
