1. SS amps, Gain to clip level, the volume with master, With valve amps when i want a little grit, I crank the master right up then adjust volume/destruction with the gain.
2. Aye, insurance and the fact thats what theyre made for! I suppose its easier with fenders as replacement parts can be easily found if the absolute worst happens, that said, Even if i had a ritter/60's P im pretty sure they'd be taken out all the time.
3. Hmm.... I think im on 16. And ive been on Basschat - Bassworld the entire time ive been playing
4. haha! This was me playing an extra in a local movie starring comedian Seymour mace (Friends with Jonny Vegas and had a part in Jonnys TV series "Ideal") We where the jazz band next door who heard seymour playing saxaphone throughout the film and at the end when seymours at his lowest we invite him to join our band and alls hunky dory! you gotta laugh...
5.
But there's only so many times you can bend a bit of metal isn't there?
All metal has a certain amount of elasticity, I suspect that it hits the floor before it exceeds that limit and goes from elasticity to stretch.
6.
Email Eden and explain the situation. I find that talking to the manufactures usually helps a big deal.
+1 And from what I've heard Eden are generally very helpful with these things
7.
Of school with an infected foot bump!
LOL! Not the best selling point for a footswitch based system!
8. Hey! For sale on behalf of my guitarist, Its his backup one and he doesnt need it anymore. As new in box. £45 + p&p Pics on request
9. I really love the pick tone - but my hand cramps up so quickly when using a pick and i simply dont have the patience to try and get used to pick style! I wish i did... Any advice on fast tracking is appreciated!
10. If I whine about the slap chorus in Peg to you any more Pete you've got every right to ban me from playing Steely Dan ever again...!
11. dont "revert" back to old hobbies. Do them aswell! Then when the need to play bass comes up next, which it undoubtedly will, you wont be stuck!
12. P Style Encore and BB blaster 10watt amp. phwoar!
13. I briefly tried a warwick $$ and found it didnt have the same punch and growl as the JJ versions - It'd rip your head off thats for sure! But the smooth round growl of the JJ's do it for me. Do you have a tone your aiming for? Maybe that would help!
14. EBMM Stingray 5 and GK is tried and tested and deadly good...! If it was me It'd be a tossup between a nice Corvette or an SR5. Let us know how you get on!
15. My Trace Twin isnt exactly tiny (115 watts) and as mentioned, the GP7 pre isnt magical, But it certainly does that beautiful warm and full valve tone and isn't that heavy. Certainly bus-able if i had a cover made for it. I got mine dirt cheap and used with a high efficiency cab its good for any sized stage.
16.
How dare you express a positive review of barefaced cabs. Round here, we call that hype, and we don't take too kindly to it. S.P.
Grab your torch and pitchforks! I'm going to have to +1 the unplug or simply dont use the 15. It might be that your experiencing some phase issues between the two different driver sizes. It might even be worth rewiring the 15 the other way round, just to cancel out the possibility.
17. I wouldn't use a graphic pre with anything other than a passive Fender (or similar passive instrument) these days. I'd much prefer a semi paramtetric on my Trace but beggars cant be choosers and all... Having said that, the MXR pedal Johnny lad points out seems to be a great Idea. Although I'm not sure i'd trust its bass-worthy ness.
18. I mean, You could just buy a barefaced...
19. I often find the kind of bands that i would listen too dont play wembley that often and as such any live recordings they do seem a bit shoddy quility wise. I sometimes (shamefully) find myself listening to the music on the quility of the recording alone so it rules out quite a lot of live stuff.
20. Im Stephen and I'm [s]an alcocohlic[/s] the bass player for Blackpool based band, The Locals. We're all 19 now, and both guitarists have been writing together since they where 12. Ive been part of the magic for a year now and the musics definately turning into something i'm really enjoying writing and playing. I can definately get my teeth into it! There's a link in my sig should you want to listen. Its Britpop Rock and Roll really, A definate Arctic Monkeys flavour about some of our older tracks, the new ones are definately developing into something that feels a bit more like us!
21. Skeptical, but interested. My main concern would be if it did have a placebo effect, and you learnt to ignore the pain to such an extent where by you wouldnt notice if it got a whole lot worse. Thats a scary thought.
22.
Cool! Thanks skankdelvar. It occurred to me this afternoon, that a modern way (and less of a fire hazard) would be to stick a projector on to a laptop that's playing music with the psychedelic patterns you get with various media players.
try and download some original ones if you can/they exist. The generic ones are good but EVERYONE will spend at least two songs nudging each other and saying "Eh up, thats media player that is"!
23.
What watt is it? If you were nearer I'd be biting your hand off. lol
I cant tell you the wattage Sarah, but I know the XL series will take more or less anything you can throw at them...
