Or pretty much any 4x10 with a Hartke LH500 would be ample!
 2. If you end up with a cash price will you let me know? I'm going to need a small gig worthy combo for uni in sept. Being organised yasee.
 3. Sorry to hear about that man! On the plus side, I used a 1001RBII and a Schroeder 1212 For a long time with great results!
 4. Just realised its the classic your talking about and not the RebelHead... Ignore all the digital bits i wittered on about! ^_^
 5.
I did my first proper gig last night with my new TC450 and 2 x 210 TC cabs, and along with our soundman, was mildly disappointed, which really surprised me as at home and in the shop, I was blown away by the sound and couldnt wait to get on stage. The gig was in a fair sized room with high ceilings in a stately home, on a solid floor (no stage), and I was using a Zon Custom bass, but try as we did (and there are still a shedload of control knob combinations we didnt try due to time constraints), we couldnt seem to get rid of a heavy mid bias in the sound without going very "soft and bottomy", which we settled on. I guess it was a combination of the somewhat sterile sound of the Zon, the room itself, the 10" speakers and a lack of familiarity with the amp and cabs, but it wasnt great. I have therefore bought a single 112 TC cab to put under a 210 cab, rather than use 2 x 210 cabs to see if that is any better. What do the panel think of this as a solution? Is it more likely to be a bass/room problem, or something we will resolve when we have used the system more and got used to it, or maybe its the inherent sound of TC systems that I just have to get used to? I love the ergonomics of the amp, and have several other basses I could use that maybe arent as clinical as the Zon, but has anyone had a similar experience?
That sounds like a real shame! Obviously, the room sounds less than ideal so I'd wait for another gig in a more "normal" gig environment before making to many changes. I suppose thats one of the hard parts about all these lovely digital amps, changing anything on the fly can be a bit tricky! It might also be that you've got your centre frequencies on the EQ set in places that just arent working for you at the moment. Have a hunt around for amps you do like centre frequence's and adjust accordingly. Not sure how much, if any difference the 12 will make, but good luck!
 6. This happened to me a few weeks ago. I just practised more. I think it is such a simple yet often overlooked fact when you become a competent musician. But the more you put in, the more you get out is always relevant.
 7. I have to activly make myself do it, but once i've taken the proverbial plunge i seem to be quite okay. Its just taking that first step into giving it a go at a gig thats hard IMO.
 8.
Thing is, I'd be happy to accept that this sort of rehearsal is pretty fun, but I think the major issue (to me at least) is that they did this in a first rehearsal which is a bit squiffy to me!
I've auditioned for bands that have actually given me a disclaimer along the lines of "we like a bit of a smoke during practice, we hope this isnt an issue!" Luckily, Its not that bigger deal to me, and never gets to silly. It depends if thats the norm or if they stay sober when they know they need to get their sh*t together. We're in the latter and its a nice place to be!
 9.
I appreciate that failure to show item location from the outset may cause members some inconvenience and even cost them the effort of a PM. But I can equally understand that others of a nervous disposition might shy away from giving their location out to all and sundry, given the interweb's reputation for scamming, stalking and false identities. It might be bloody annoying, but it's also understandable, particularly if you're a newbie surrounded by a bunch of gruff blokes giving it large on core tone and how they'd like to lamp their frontman. It's fairly easy to establish where someone is - just ask them. So I oppose the motion, on the grounds that making it compulsory will probably cause some people not to post their gear for sale, hence reducing all our opportunities.
This is the same reason we didnt impliment the "template" rule, as seen on 7string
 10. Oh Musicman! You should know better than to post this in off topic! Moved to Effects for ya.
 11. Im totally guilty of this. To the point where I've actually got more chance of watching a crap band than vice versa! I often have people stalking on my gear too. Mainly when i walk in with a 2x15 above my head. I just tell them I work out...
 12. Oh lord, I regret moving on so much of my gear! but im in a happy place which kinda makes up for it... I miss my Eden Nemesis NC810 so much, sounded great, wasnt that much of a ballache to move round. I think my Biggest regret though is selling my Bacchus Woodline Turbo 5 with J retro Pre. Man that bass was awesome. I Think I used half the money i sold it for on a G&L L2500 Tribute which i kept for about a week, and spent the rest getting bladdered. Lesson learnt.
 13.
Slap bass is hard to master. Just keep at it. You'll get it eventually.
Im not bad at slapping in general, Its just a really odd rhythm in that section. We cover the song occasionally for fun and i can get through it without to much hassle but it'd be nice to play it right! I think doddy was right, i need to control my thumb bouncing perhaps!
 14.
It's not that fast-it's just a matter of controlling the rebound of the thumb.
Yeah, this is where im struggling. Thanks
 15.
I have the Puma1000 which can bridge the two 500w amps which allows 1000w into 8ohms, I believe the very latest versions can do 4 ohms but may be pushing it a bit. Really like this head.........doesn't mean I'll not sell it of course!!!
Does that mean you've excused my ignorance? That sounds like it would be epic through a nice 410 though. Good luck!
 16. excuse my ignorance if ive read it wrong, but you want to get more out of your head at 8ohms? I'm pretty sure the minimum load for a puma is 4ohms meaning you'd be getting less watts by going to an 8ohm cab
 17.
Hi everyone, I'm selling my 10 watt Kustom amp that came as part of the beginner package I got my first bass with. As you can imagine it's tiny and its just taking up space in my bedroom aha . I'm looking to offload it as I don't need it no more. Its in really good condition and you may find it usefull for practicing quietly or whatever you want to do with it. To be fair to the thing, its better then the P bass was that come i the package I can't knock it too be honest. I'm interested in offers really theres not a set price If your interested PM and we can talk Thanks Greg
Hi Greg, Forum rules stipulate you need to quote a price im afraid.
 18.
Their very first album with Mr Pink on it is a classic. Love Games is also one of my favourite tracks and bass part ever.
Quick question for you, In the Chorus Section of 'Peg' by steely dan, Is it double thumbed or just a very fast "normal" slap technique on the doubles?
 19. Bandcamp is a great resource. It should lend itself to single musicians okay, but i wouldnt like to say for sure!
 20.
Good stuff. It's been offered to me at the same price of a Standard Jazz (from Reverb) at £450, as they were all out of them. Thanks, Carl
Thats a good price, I managed to get mine a little cheaper this time last year, but that was before Fender went through the price increase - So really not bad at all!
 21.
I realised my mistake just after posting it, but had to go. I mean pearloid Thanks for your help, Ste
Your welcome! You shouldnt be disappointed either, I've been through countless basses including some Laklands, Musicmen, Bacchus - the works. And my MIM Jazz is the one that's stayed the longest!
 22.
Care to elucidate, Howard? I was planning to use speaker wire, as in a piece from a speaker jack to jack I've got...
I hope he doesnt have a serious answer and it was intended as a joke - I had a right little giggle!
 23. I played one in a shop once and it was really, really nice. I think it may have been one of those "magic" basses that are set up perfect right out the box. Definitely nicer to play than any bass ive owned... thats a depressing though in fact! Anyway, I suppose that's not much use to you, It did however, sound magnificent!
 24. Hmm, I'm pretty sure they're all pearloid. Mine sure is. And mines a very narrow Jazz neck. If your thinking of the Squier Vintage modified Jazz then yes, It has black inlays and a wider neck.
 25.
Yeah I knew that.. I just wondered if there was a "standard" way of wiring cabs. I assumed there was or else when you use two from different makers you could have them out of phase
From what ive heard, This happens all to often without people noticing!
