2. Before you go knocking elixers for not feeling like normal strings, no, they dont, but i actually prefered that! So with that in mind i'd say they're well worth a try
3. I had one. It was the Cats Pyjamas! Very Light, Full of tone, Neck was bob on. IIRC it was a woodline turbo 5, but with a J retro. I actually cant think of any gripes and im dead fussy me...!
4. In a word, Yes just be sure to keep an ear out for any nasty noises and you'll be fine!
5. I've just bought exactly the same bass and mines perfect
6. You should be fine if its just one source your recording at a time. I use its big brother the omage and after a bit of a challenge setting up all the drivers it works really well
7. what are the controls on that bad boy? Vol/Blend Bass Treble? What pre-amps in there?
8. it'd be great to see some familiar faces about. It'll be my new jazz's first outing, and my first real gig with the guys. Its at the metropolitan, no idea what or where that is but i'll keep you all updated! The music can be found at www.myspace.com/thelocalsblackpool. See what you think And i hope to see you down there
9.
This is fairly amusing. Guys wanting all these bells and whistles... and the funny thing is, I personally can never see them being used!
10. Id more or less want an MXR M80 with a valve pre and power section.
11.
Sweet deal dude. Which guy was it?
It was the manager, didn't catch his name mind. Short dark hair? Boss have just put their prices up though too, a tu-2 cost me 70! Love the multibuy blackmail discount though
12. Well! I got it! And I have to give a heads up to hw music for being the first music shop where I really felt valued. They had bumped the price up to 600 which really shocked me considering it's been there for ages. Anyway I mentioned I'd been in to try and but it once before and he instantly offered me the old price (490) with a fender padded bag and a £25 lead. What a guy! I'll get pics up tonight. I can't believe I'm finally the owner of a sunburst jazz, I must be growing up!
13. Crap, Rslaing, I didnt mean to edit your post. This is why i shouldnt be a moderator... I'll see if i can dig out what you put, but he made a very valid point ladies and gentlemen and i was trying to emphasize this! Edit - Sorted.

15. Its a small old world! The fella you got that Jazz from took my Old Schroeder Cab and an OLP a while back. Us northwest bassist seem to naturally flock together! What happened to matt by the way? I hope its not a touchy subject or anything!
16. I cant say i ever imagined you taking bass duties in march Max! You really do need an Ampeg on full Tilt for that lot... I think im coming to preston to grab that 75 re-issue tomorrow. Im rather excited! I hope its still there!
17.
Further to my 'AnyOldJazz' & Sadowsky suggestion Steve, I was totally bowled over by one of the white Squier Classic Vibe Jazzes the other week & speaking of which, my brother Nick (Doctor_of_the_Bass) has just bought one.
I tried one of those and was left wholly un impressed myself. Th eplayability was just atrocious. I'll bet it was a lemon though. I think ive come to the conclusion im going to shoot for the 75RI in preston, i know it sounds brilliant, I know it plays brilliantly, it looks stunning and yeah! More good news, i just got back from my first gig and it was awsome, ill post pics up in the relevent thread when i can!
18. yeah i remember playing it, I think it was wired wrong though, only one of the volume pots worked! I was going to make a trip to liverpool on tuesday to trawl round some shops but i might just save myself the effort and grab that...
19. yeah is that the one in HW music where sound control used to be, is it still there?! I was really wowed by that one.
20. im afraid not, It was a very nice bass! I got a bit clumsy on 5 strings though and would much rather have a four now. And the bacchus didnt do "tame" very well!
21. Oh do! We're at Jenx, Goonies never say Die and Sinister Footwear are playing aswell. Some of Blackpools finest i do believe!
22. I also want the money for a ric! Your right though, tonally its right on the button.
