1. Well! With a twisty and turny few weeks of gear and work, ive finally found a deal thats going ahead! My markbass sold within minutes and my schroeder is currently in the workshop getting some TLC after a nasty bump last weekend - so i made ends meet on a deal i just couldnt refuse! Anyway, i wont spoil the surprise, but i CAN tell you i will be paying a certain basschatter a visit on sunday after a very long drive. And i dont think most of you will believe he's parting with it! Can ya tell whdit is yet? Edit:- Oh, and for those in the know... SHHHH!!!
2.
where do some of you younger guys get the money from! when i was 16, the idea of me being able to afford a stingray bass was hillarious! although i didnt start playin bass til 2 years later...
Im only 17 going into my second year of college and have a Bacchus Jazz - Lots of weekend graft thats all!! I shall post up a latest aquisition photo after sunday... Cant wait! (No spoiling the surprise those that know!!)
3. I know they did the teardrop guitars and basses, and some European company recently started making good quality replicas IIRC. Never done anything for me, but they do have a huge following!
4.
dude weigh yourself on some scales, and then weigh yourself again holding the bass simple maths, hey presto
Maths?! *Runs and hides*
5. Well we do three, two hour sessions a week. and thats not including writing and recording. but i consider that very heavy, and we are opting out of the third for now as its tiring!
6. I DONT think a full day of practice is very beneficial. maybe 2 hours at a time seems to be the constructive limit of everyone i know. then repeat this as often as possible. Obviously, this seems impossible with your shift work, would a couple of hour sessions a week be possible?
7. Its a thirst that wont go away. Im drinking soon, you should too
8. Ohhh if only i played fours!! Anyway keir i dont regret not taking that Spector off you now, ive had the bacchus for like, nearly three months now?!!! good luck!
9. best deal ever. Any other time mate!
10.
Ok, I'm sold on Ashdown, only question that remains. Is the Mag-C210-T-300 worth the extra £90 over the EB15-180 EVO11? http://www.soundslive.co.uk/product~name~A...-II~ID~3071.asp http://www.soundslive.co.uk/product.asp?id=9003
I think so yes - Theres a big thread about ashdown basically saying the tens are lot more defined than the 15's - I personally cant compare the mag series but know its true of the ABM. Anyway, in amps and cabs there is the ashdown humble pie thread, go have a read
11. I think the Egotistical teachers are becoming fewer and further between, but it was very good of you to do this for us all! I shall have a browse thats for sure.
12. I put my markbass Through an ABM810 supporting sonic boom six the other day. Sounded cracking actually!
13. Deals now pending on both items, Thanks for the interest!
14. I just dance like a motherlicker ^_^ Although it must be difficult from a funk perspective. Take a look at JK, Hes doing all the grooving thats for sure. Personally, i find coordinated movs in a band a bit cheesy.
15. He was in a [s]dirtysubgrimebwarp[/s] Jazz trance
16.
Can't believe you're a 17 year old male with a room that tidy, did you take that photo somewhere else?!!!!!
Aha no! that is indeed my bedroom. I think i am a bit of a clean freak actually. But thats perfectly normal for a 17 year old with a rock and roll lifestyle, right? A also love Jazz
17. oh, and the Schroeders gone, need a quick sale on the markbass now
18. Thanks for the words guys! Its nothing life threatening, im just used to having a good cash flow and at the moment im without a job! As a 17 year old it shouldnt be a big deal but i find myself wondering around the house not knowing what to do with myself!!
19. In a strange and horrible turn of events, Both of these are now for sale. I want £390 for the markbass and £425 for the schroeder. Im tempted to just get a bass DI box and do a bit of a geddy, moneys going to be hard to come by in the next few months I could be tempted by any trade that would involve a fair bit of cash my way. Maybe high quility small combos - markbass - Ashdown ABM? Cheers guys, and sorry to all those who ive had partial deals with! I believe ive PM'd everyone involved.
20. I still want to start a "Basschat Steve Club" Im a Stephen, and ive messaged five steves in the last two weeks!
21. I might try and persuade ped to sell me his... hmm!
22. I believe some of the Design Programs have tone generators on them, so just take a line from your PC too your amp then through your speaker. Im sure google will throw up a few results for online tone generators also Edit, Here we are
23. Sorry dave, i know other options have been done to death but just a little more food for thought! Whenever i use my schroeder at volume i find messing with the EQ gets rid of some of that compression your talking about, i mean seriously messing. Id be interested to hear if more watts works out for you though! So for experimnets sake you know, Go for it!
24. I was supposed to just be referring just to the CL in my post, If thats not what i said, thats what i meant to say!!
