1. This isnt un heard of, STOP PLAYING BASS NOW! Give all your gear to me and we'll take treatment from there okay?
2.
My question was why for example, when I turn on my TV and watch Glastonbury, every single bass player has an Ampeg/Trace/SWR stack? The most exotic it gets is EBS.
You didnt look hard enough, i was using markbass and schroeder
3. I dont know if the winning bidder will appreciate someone e-mailing him saying "oh by the way, the amp youve just bought is probably stolen, have a nice day" I say leave it be and enjoy your amp when it comes through! I was lucky enough to buy a LM2 a few weeks ago brand new at the old price (£450 W/postage) so im pretty pleased the prices have gone up!!
4. Aguilar do a little cab id like very much to hear, i think its 2 8" speakers and a 5" one or something like that? Edit:- Here we are! Little Aggie
5. The S-1 switch was a short lived system Fender installed on 06(?) basses which switches the pickup circuitry from series to parrallel. For some reason lots of people didnt like it, other people couldnt tell the difference, and a select few thought it was alright! I'd personally have a good look at the G&L, Never heard a bad word said about them! However £550 will buy you a great bass on this very forum so have a hunt about!
6.
Well I'm entering my 4th decade in a few weeks... My guitarist is the relative old man of the band - he'd just got back from his son's first gig so we hadn't even had time for a soundcheck! I know I can be prone to wittering in person but I thought I was a lot blunter online. Obviously I'm still too tolerant... From 10 feet away I wonder if you can tell the difference between textured paint and tolex? Alex
Well you dont look as if your pushing 40! And thats an incredibly good point about the textured finish. Hope alls going well!
7. Good stuff! I really want a pointy five string that wont cost an arm and a leg. I dont even play metal, i just think they look cool as tits.
8. Did we find out what the problem was miss?
9. Nah thats a standard finish on curbows, Mystik Ice Crazer i believe. Looks stunning in person!
10. I imagined you to be a wittering old man in real life Alex! I do look forward to hearing one of your cabs sometime soon. Id have to agree on a tolex cover as my covering of choice, with painted being my least favorite. although thats purely based on aesthetics
11. I'm not flaming, nor in much of a position to have a particularly valid opinion (Student, parents house yada yada) so take any of my opinions with this in mind. The items arnt particularly desirable, especially in a market so full of good quility cheap gear. If the auction was for say a Mexican Jazz signed by such and such an artist it would be a whole different story im sure! Good bass, Within most peoples "acceptable" price bracket and the desirability factor of an artists endorsement would make the whole thing that little bit more interesting! However any charitable work is good charitable work and i hope you raise a fair amount! And as a side note i personally find the Figures of people pledging against site traffic approach make it out like i should be obliged to give money to come on the site. Im aware the moneys for good causes and im sure many people do more than just offer bands services for free.
12.
we're almost gear brothers !! Mark Bass + Schroeder + Bacchus , only difference I am using a Glock Amp Rig , but kind of missing the MB vibe !!
The MB vibe is whats making my rig at the moment! Fantastically phat with that little orange box!
13. I have one of these. Closest feel to that damn sadowsky i tinkled on at the NW bash. Cracking!
14.
Thanks dave, yeah, thats what im using.
A specifically designed speaker jack? Just looking out for you my friend! ^_^
15. I'm afraid not no. Ill edit the thread title, thanks for asking!
16. I remember having a similar issue with my bongo, Allbeit i stuck at it a bit longer (and THATS saying something!) Its such a rewarding bass when you get it right. But i have to agree the SC neck pickup isnt worth doodly squat.
17. Nice to see you doug, enjoy yourself!
18. If you want me to look after it and ahem, promote with it just send it my way yeah?
19. As for the compressor, I found it very musical, Ped will vouch for his aswell im sure!
20. Depends how many i have when i pop my clogs! If i have two the nice one would go to my little brother and the other id probably auction on here.
21. I do rather like it actually, but i must admit, whenever i listen to it after listening to some of Marcus Millers essentials im left wanting more! Id care to note i do actually prefere Wooten as a solo player, but boy does Miller know how to write a track!
22. DB750 and an F bass, i will follow in your footsteps one day!
23. a waist of his time eh! Where people thinner in his generation?
24. Hmm, id say buy an eden pre-amp then buy a poweramp thatl go down to 2 ohms, but the navigator might be a bit overkill :/
