1. Could be interested in the cricket bat! Could ya pm me a price sir?
2. So, you want to trade your 4 strings for my 5 strings eh... Riggghhhht
3. Im a little confused by the options (this isnt a dig bass ferret, being real here!) More often than not we'll have FOH, monitors, and a backline - though not necessarily using the backline as monitors. is this option two?
4.
So rewire a 4x10 so it will run as a single 4x10 or two 2x10s. I've done something like this, only with a 2x10 cab that will run as 2x10 at 4 ohms or 2 1x10 at 8 ohms each.
I see what your saying, but id say 90% of bassists arnt going to want to buy a head thats going to mean they have to re-wire their cabs are they! Im definately interested in hearing one of these for myself.
5. That really is beautiful. I agree with the statement above about a boutique bass thats actually been used lots. Its something i wouldnt have the balls to do myself but to see it in all its glory... wow!
6. Good Score! At that price, if you dont like it im sure i can give it a good home!
7. Ive always found Aguilar to be fantastic at "that" funk tone.
8.
so I really think your poll is a bit meaningless and everyone is just gonna vote for what they have got.
To be quite honest Mr Bass Ferret, most of what you say is merely belitteling someone else, and thus to anyone with any sense, meaningless.
9. Really sorry to hear about your shoulder! That must be an absaloute nightmare. Do you think i'll get commision if i bang on about schroeder some more? They do a neo series which are absaloutly fabulous.
10. 2x12 really does seem to be the way to go! Personally i find it to be the perfect balance between size, weight, and volume. And the amount of available 12" speaker cabs seems to be growing by the day!
11. Plenty of high mid boost. Maybe even cut the low mid for slap.
12. I think you'll get better results with another 212 matey! The guys in the know say that you shouldnt really mix driver sizes unless your properly bi-amping
13. The only part i would disagree with is the bit about her being too young to be in a band! Your never to young for a band, or even a few like-minded people in the garage. Its this sociological malarkee that makes something like the bass wonderful for us younguns! you get to make music that you like, with people that you like (with varying degrees of success but thats beside the point, for now!) wheras with the flute theres a much smaller window to do what you like with, she'll have had to learn pieces and play it how it was originally played etc. I think she'll be fine.
14. My girlfriend just has a lovely respect for what i do really! She even put a deposit down on a bass for me as my valentines day present! Beats a heart shaped hot water bottle eh! Shes always at our gigs dancing and selling CDs for us. awh shes ace she is *mushy*
15. Jonty, The XL series are the Aluminium top of the line drivers, i dare say this is the best bargain on the forum atm
16.
thanks for the welcome and... yes... its a '62 - naturally relic'd ! - several times over -- but its there to be played and not hung on the wall! roger
Mucho respect roger! Thats how those old workhorses should be treated! I do hope you enjoy your stay
17. Hmm, this might take a bit of working out, but if i had outright bought everthing this forum has got me id have spent... Jesus, almost 3K!
18. Have you seen what my fingers can do? *gone*
19. And the tanglewood is very similar to the Cort Curbow! Which is indeed a fantasticly underated bass, as are most corts (Im sure Finnbass will pipe up and agree shortly!) and if it is outta the same factory then im sure youll be pleasantly surprised.
20. We've started turning down venues on the basis that they dont have a suitable PA system for a 7 piece drum and bass band! Luckily never come across anywhere with a sound limiter!
21. Would there be any chance of you re-uploading some of the pics please alex?

Id just be ever so scared id not like it and have to move it on! Hmm. However, if i buy the pieze bridge on here, my (soon to be mine anyway) Bacchus would have a j retro, piezo bridge and a V bass system... versatility ftw!
