1.
Does it get worse when your hard drive is being worked hard? I've had PC's that induce noise onto the line in, and when the hard drive is spinning hard, it gets worse. It is a constant noise, or intermittent?
that wouldnt surprise me. Its quite an old laptop, allbeit its just had a new hardrive put in. And its intermittant as in it will go from crackly to very crackly and back again! Its picked up on the recording. Ive just recorded using the USB without hooking it up to my amp and its fine. but i cant hear myself play so its a bit of a bummer really!
2.
my guess would be something wrong with the jack socket in the amp. also try switching the ground lift switch on the line out, but you've possibly done that.
Tried it with two amps. and various basses and cabs. Possible, but unlikely!
3. Ive tried all possible outs (Tuner, fx send, Everything on my pod) And i thought this would be the problem untill the USB thing occoured! Also changed all the things in control panel to the pod (Audio device business) and that made no difference
4. Also just found out that it still crackles when connected to the pod even when its turned OFF and unplugged! Weird.
5. Hey there guys, I seem to have a bit of a problem with my laptop and recording onto it. Whenever i take a line from my amp to my laptop i get a crackling sound through my cab speaker...? I dont use my laptop for proper recording, just putting little ditties down yaknow? Anyway, i got a PODxt recently and even when thats hooked up via USB i get the same crackling noise...? Happened with my ashdown amp and warwick cabs aswell as my GK and schroeder now too. Whats going on?!!
6.
What £150 power amp is any good then? Pod XT Pro is £350.
You can get a POD xt used for little over £100. lob that in your gigbag and take a 2u poweramp. Im not saying its a completly useless idea, it just seems to overlap a little bit too much.
7. To be honest this dosnt excite me in the slightest, And i was discussing with Ped at the NW bass why. The simply fact is the Lowdown combos arnt all that great. They do a job, and filled a gap in that market. great. But how much are these heads gonna cost? If its anywhere around the £500 mark you could get a podxt and a poweramp and have a whole lot more at your disposal! 2pennethinnit.
8. You do love your lightweight gear dontcha!
9. I have to say, thats a cracking price for an awful lot of bass! 5 and i might be interested. I hate needing that 5th string sometimes i really do!
10. If its black/black maple i think i might have to pay you a short vistit! You can be out, it wont matter

I dont think itll be far off yaknow!
13.
Thanks for that guys, not sure myself did wonder wether it's because it's the 6 ohm version, but i don't know or more that the quality of the lightweight cabs now available are making the big rigs harder to sell.
I know exactly what you mean, i had such a hard time shifting my Eden Nemesis 810, it was a bloody brilliant amp but i had no way of getting it round after the bandwagon (pun intended) broke down! Anyway, Just to let everyone know this guy was great to deal with and if i did have the spare dough id have it myself for a practice bedroom amp
14. Whats your price range? Theres a warwick 611 on here thats going for £200 (cracking deal) but its a big beast. if you like the markbass gear its well worth looking into in a bit more depth!

22. Ive played the tanglewood and this, and honestly got on with this better. Hands down the most comfortable bass ive ever owned. Mine was fretless, but i think the preamp will be more useful on a fretted. I say go for it!!
23. Ive just had a thought... Next time we should do it like ten minute speed dating... Except with amps and basses! Now theirs a novel idea...
24. I would but im afraid id get everyones names wrong! Let me have a wee gander...
