Thanks for your proposition but i am not looking for high end bass guitar no more. I ever played a F studio bass and it is a great instrument for sure I like the vintage vibe and the focused B string but i'm uncomfortable with such instrument. Actually, i'm"downgrading" my whole equipement (don't know if downgrading is correct in english...). To be honnest, i have an acceptable sound on stage with a roland Cube 100 and a squier vintage modified '70s bass guitar. Previously, i played on an USA made MTD 435 and a markbass stack and i did not notice an incredible difference as far as sound is concerned compared to my current equipment. So, i suppose i don't have the accurate brain and fingers to make sound an F bass like an F bass must sound. Moreover, i'm laid back on stage with my squier. If someone say "sorry, but i scratched your bass while moving my amp !", i don't care ! It would certainly not be the case with a high end instrument !

It is an incredible bass from the well known (i hope so !) Jp. There is some topics on talkbass (take a glance at Talkbass JPbass). some specifications : *hollowbody (2.8 Kg only!) *single cut *wenge neck with wenge fingerboard (flat radius) *body is wenge and red cendar *piezzo only (rmc from hipshot) *east electronic (volume with push/pull to add some extra trebles, bass, treble) *hipshot ultra light bridge and tuners *33" scale (but B string is strong and focus) *Ritter flightcase It produces a very natural sound. An incredible mixture of acoustic world and electric world. Jp don't produce bass guiatrs anymore. It is one of the about 20 instruments that JP build. I am in Paris but i can send the bass everyywhere. The price is very low : 900 £. You have to add shipping costs and paypal fees. ¨lease contact me to the following mail adress : siyoupi(at)yahoo.fr Some pictures :

Now on ebay... Here are some specs : 1995 MTD 435 made in USA. Specifications are : *Korinba body (300 $ supply) *Wengé neck with wengé fingerboard (300 $ supply) and zero fret and hipshot tuners *35” scale with 24 frets (200 $ supply) *Rare Pink salmon finish (400 $ supply) *Dedicated Bartolini pickups with Bartolini electronic (volume, balance, bass, medium and treble with a three way switch to choose medium frequency). Quiet dead ! *No issues, dings, etc etc... It corresponds to a 5000 $ value in new condition ! Here is a description of the wood choice from MTD website : “A wenge neck and board add compression and focus to the speaking voice of the bass. The bodies and necks are ergonomically carved to allow comfortable access to the extended scale bass. The pickups and active electronics are a proprietary design for MTD made by Bill Bartolini. The controls are: master volume and a pan pot, treble, mid, bass cut and boost, with center click (from neck to bridge). The three position switch selects the mid range cut and boost point. Down is lower mids, center is middle and up is upper mids. When the mid pot is at center click, the switch has minimal effect. This EQ has 2 batteries and is a +/- 9 volt system. * There is great variety in the settings of the EQ. The basses can be made to sound very traditional by cutting the mids all the way at 1000 (switch in top position), and boosting the bass and treble to 10 with the blend pot at center. This offers a great slap tone. Boosting the mids at 250 ( switch in lower position), with bass at 10 and treble at 9-10 with the blend pot on the bridge pick up gives the early Bartolini TCT tone. This offers a very percussive finger tone. These are just suggestions. The tone will vary depending on the rig and technique used.” Paypal accepted !

Hello, I am a french bass player and i am looking for some gigs in UK for my combo (take a glance to Kalognouma afro Funk Band). It's an afro-funk band from Paris. First, i don't know if there is some audience for this style of music in Uk. Then, i ignored the tyîcal procedures to get some gigs. If some people could give me some informations (concert hall adresses for instance...), it would be very Kind. I could give you some tips for gigs in Paris in return ! Best regards ! Yves. PS: sorry for my miserably english expression...

We are used to highly figured tops for MTD bass... I am not very fond of that pink salmon color too but i don't care. The most important thing is the sound. And it is the greatest sounding bass i've owned. Unfortunaly, i am unemployed and i need some money... Anyway, it is not a big job to respray !
