1. Hey Dan, I'm afraid I didn't get the chance to get anything down pre or post, I might be able to sort something with the new ones at some point when I get a bit of spare time! Going to drop you a quick PM in a bit about something, don't want to derail this thread too much! Cheers, Rich
2. looking really nice Mike! Can't beat a nice bit of maple or two ;-) That flame is going to look DEEP with a nice stain on it! Hope you get some more news soon, Rich
3. I do indeed, the frequency control is a nice little screw on the back that you can reach through the control cavity. All very nifty! Jon a legend as far as I'm concerned, I still get a smile every time I pick the bass up! Rich
4. Hey Dan, Yup, I popped in into the neck PU as I had a real hankering for a P. Think it's done the job admirably. Might not be quite so versatile/subtle because of it, but my god, it's a good sound! I'm going to adjust the mid frequency a bit so I can back it off when I need a smoother tone. How are the plans for your SC headless coming on? Rich
5. Looking GOOD! Just popped an EMG P5 in my Shuker - It thunders! Really, really growls. The 6'er equivalent and the switching on the TW should give a nice range of sounds. Can't be too long now? Rich
6. Cool, I'd missed this one. Count me in as very much /subscribed. I love the look of your basses, Robbie, and this one looks VERY nice. Nice one, Rich
7. Good to hear that you've got some news Mike - I understand how frustrating it is waiting for info (as can anyone whos been having a build done!). I dealt with it by kind of forgetting about it, and I popped up to Sheffield to try out the neck to make shure it was what I was after (I chose a bit of a mishmas of dimentions from the Shuker Jazz you tried around mine, and a Spector Euro 5 that I really liked) - So the neck was a bit of a (Slightly guided) shot in the dark. Probably helped that I had shedloads of other things going on at the time so bass thoughts were properlly shoved to the back of my little mind! :-) Ooooh, I swapped out the neck EMG DC for a EMG P5 pickup recently, b*gger me the bass is monstrously punchy with that in! Need to balance it a bit but reckon it's a ery good thing! Hope all's well and we should sort a meet up at some point soon! All the best, Rich
8. Swapped an EMG pickup for a different EMG pickup with Tom - Top bloke! And very Tall :-) Top stuff! Rich
9. Just thought I'd pop on and say that I had a Vester bass once - Not quite the same as this one, was sort of Jazz shaped, but had the sloping pickup thing a la the Thumb. I have to say that it was an exceptionally well made and very nice sounding bass. Really solid and my band mates complained when I sold it and got a Warwick. I was told/ read somewhere that they were closed down by Fender with a 'Cease and Desist' type order in the 90's for some reason or another, but can't find or supply any evidence to support this - Sorry. So anyway, just thought I'd give a thumbs up to this...er....thumb(copy)...(well, Vester in particular) Cheers, Rich
10. Heheh! Would have been great to have been able to keep the jazz, but would have been fighting with the SC, and I think the latter would have won! Still, there's always the next build..... Hope you get some nice pics of the progress! Rich
11. Blimey, busy, busy chap - Glad I got mine done nice and early! He does make some lush stuff - I think his website could do with an update as he's got some really spectacular basses out recently (especially yours Bassmonster!), though the poor bugger doesn't have enough time as it is! Keeping very close tabs on this build, I'm not sure how responsible I am for Mike going to Jon after he played the Jazz 5 I had a while back! Rich
12. Hybrid for me: Valve in the preamp section of the Eden. Warms it up nicely. Rich
13. That was brilliant chap - like some others have said, some stuff leaves me a little cold, but that was super cool and funky. Properly in the groove! Nice one, Rich
14. Flanker and Ari had theirs at the Bash a while back - Can't really remember there being too much difference between the two, maybe that the 4x10 was a bit (really low down) deeper, or perhaps that the 3x10 had a slightly more pronounced mid (barely). I could be talking out of my hoop though, by that point of the evening my ears were distinctly fatigued! Rich
15. Wow! That looks superb - I don't know how you can achieve so much on a first time build! I'd love to have a go it building a bass, but have far too little time and/or talent! Where are you thinking of getting the wooden knobs from? Rich
16.
I'm toying with one of the 4 ohm Tech cabs to replace my two EA cabs. I have a CXL112 and an old VL110 that are very compact. Not the heaviest but not the lightest either and one less trip to the car appeals. Does anyone know who sells the Tech cabs?
I think the Bass Merchant in Essex do the Tech Cabs, though I think they'd pretty much sold off most of the old style cabs and were due to get in a load of the new style. HTH Rich
17. Looking good - Was this the neck I took a picture of a while back? on the left hand side? I'm interested in the different positioning of the graphite rods with the two necks. Anyway, looking great - I was the same with mine towards the end, I kind of wanted a surprise when I went to collect it! Good luck! Rich

Is is gorgeous, isn't it. And it's got orange LED's. And is got a huge range of tones (like basically anything you can think of). And the finish is just lush. And the fretboard is stunning. Basically it's brill. Rich
19. Just posted this over in the Show Your Rigs thread, but thought I'd sling it up here too: Schroeder 1212L Specs over here: http://www.schroedercabinets.com/1212.htm Rich (I'll get a better pic of the cab when I sort my camera out)
20. /Subscribed! Looking forward to seeing how it turns out. Hope you've managed to get some updates, Cheers, Rich
21. Thought I'd show mine, as I've not had a picture of it all together before: Shuker Single Cut 5 into Eden WT400 into Schroeder 1212L (debadged as sometimes I run it the other way up, and occasionally I'm a sucker for aesthetics!) Nice, small, loud and very easy to cart about, probably 60lbs tops for the amp and cab. Might look into getting a Aphex Punch Factory again at some point, works really well in live settings. Rich
22. Cool stuff, I like it! What sort of difference do the scale lengths make? I'm assuming the shorter scale makes the G a bit more supple -or is it more about intonation? Nice one, Rich
23. Oooh cool, Another baby to add to the fast growing community! Keep us posted with the progress - Are you thinking of an active preamp? If so, then I highly recommend Jon's in house design, it's splendid! All the best, Rich
24. Rich - Another geordie at heart, but has long since lost the accent. Have been playing bass for about 13 years or so, and I currently own (and always will) a lovely Shuker Single Cut 5 String, which is far too good a bass to be in my possesion. I'm in two bands, one covers, and one original and covers with a nice lounge twist. I apparently have Mekon-like fingers. Rich
