1. No worries mate... the 210 + 112 works for me, but we all have different requirements... the 40's weekend is great, one of the best reenacting events of the year...have a look next year, we are the mad bunch of Paddies doing Royal Ulster Rifles... cant miss us
2. Ahh I see you are from Ramsey... I go there every August to the 40's weekend with my WW2 reenacting group... lovely place
3. I bought an RS210 plus an RS112 cab from Smash on here... the 112 added to the 210 gives a lovely warm and meaty bit of extra oomph to the overall sound and I would highly recommend the pairing... actually Smash still has one RS112 for sale at a good price, I would seriously consider it if I were you... you get the 4 ohm load from the head and its a featherweight too...
4. I'll be able to give you an opinion on this next week... I own an LMII and its been my main gigging amp for about 2 years... great head, tons of poke etc... however i got bitten by the TC bug and I have just aquired an RS210 and RS112 (thanks Smash)... I also bought an RH450 head last week on TB, got a great deal... so I'll be trying the TC cabs with both heads on a couple of gigs... I'll let you know how I get on..
5. Dimensions: 51cm wide x 35cm High x 41cm Deep .... very compact.
6. Chris the cab is rear ported (2 ports), I will add a pic later... weight is 35lbs... sorry I should have included this info in my original post!
7. These cabs are custom built in Chicago USA. I imported this one about 4 years ago. LDS ( Low Down Sound ) 2x8 with tweeter 350w 8ohm cab.. big warm deep bass tone with long throw Celestion 8" drivers and custom tweeter... check out the excellent reviews on Bass Player magazine... I have used this as a standalone cab for smaller electric and double bass gigs, and stacked with either a Bag End 1x15 or an Aguilar GS112 for louder gigs... its an amazing little cab, its hard to describe the big fat warm bass that comes out of this, and with an extra cab it is a monster... beautiful smooth tweeter, not harsh or brittle... I have just gone for a full TC rig so I need to shift some of my current gear.. This cab is totally NOT what you would expect a 2x8 to be, its a real wolf in sheeps clothing! I am looking for £220 including shipping to your door, which is a real bargain for a genuine hand built custom cab!
8. 200w at 4 ohms, weighs 2lbs and fits into any small laptop bag or similar... the ultimate compact lightweight head, perfect for gigging or as a handy backup amp in the pocket of your gigbag! Big warm punchy tone, incredible from such a tiny amp.. check out the great reviews on the net... 4 months old, mint condition, only used a couple of times... Only selling as I have just gone for a full TC rig and need the money! Looking for £175 posted to your door... From GK: MB 200 • 200 watts @ 4 ohms, 140 watts @ 8 ohms • 10dB pad • Four-band active EQ w/contour • Headphone/line output • XLR out, pre/post EQ • Speakon output • 7.75x8x1.75 • 2 lbs. PS: Sounds fantasic with my LDS 2x8 Cab posted seperately... beautiful warm punchy but tiny rig!!
9. I like darker.. ... I'll pm you mate
10. Hi... have you ever tried the 2x RS112 cabs together on a gig? wondering if it sounds any different to 1x RS212...
11.
I'm using an Ampeg PF-350 with one bc212 so only getting 250w out the head. I play with a hard hitting drummer, guitarist and three singers all matching the drummer's volume at rehearsals. I'm finding my setup loud enough to keep up. The tone of the 12's is great too - especially for the money.
Thats a cool rig Sparky... I'm seriously considering the BC212, just cant decide between the micro heads to drive it.... GK MB500, Ampeg PF-500 or the TC BH500 which is in the same price range but is no micro at 30lbs... otherwise a used RH450 or Classic 450... I have a Markbass LMII but I fancy a tone change and will keep it as a backup for the time being... It might work well with the BC212 though..
12. its also sold which is just as well coz I couldnt afford it and I kept looking at it every 10mins... lollll
13. Let me know if you do decide to sell the RS212... ... Mmmmm that Staccacto is tasty... pity its not a hundred quid cheaper..
14. Well after all that my deal on the RH450 has fallen thru.. I had it paid for and everything to a guy on TB and when he went to the post office the shipping was double what he quoted me... long story short we agreed to forget it and he refunded my paypal... bit gutted now though!!
15. Have a deal in the pipeline on a used RH450 and I'm wondering what guys are enjoying them thru apart from their own brand of TC cabs? I kinda like the idea of the GK 212MBE cab in 4 ohms, I hear they are pretty nice and not too expensive... my only cab at the moment is a Bag End 15 so time will tell how I like that pairing but I'm kinda looking for a change too... surprise surprise... bass player disease! The only stipulation is that it must be reasonably light, as in no more than the 53lbs or so the RS212 weighs... if I got a used RS212 I'd jump on it but they dont appear very often and I'm not sure a 2x10 does it for me going onpast experience... any suggestions appreciated though...
16. Mmmm... well I can only afford one, maybe the 2x12 and I can only haul one, so a pair wont be an option... my head is the Markbass LMII so should have loads of power in 500w... anyone using heads other than TC with these ?
17. Bump for Dave here... we tried our best to work a deal to get this lovely cab to Eire but eventually had to give up the ghost due to excessive shipping costs etc... someone buy this soon and put me out of my misery!!
18. Would like to hear from anyone using these, particularly the 212 cab.... great prices... what do they sound like tho?
19. Duuuuuhhhh.... just spotted the customer centre has an email address...
20. Anyone figure out how to contact these guys? I cant make head nor tail of the website... if the basses sound remotely like the video clips they sound great to my ears...
21. I use the MB200 and I love it as well... its only 200w and my cab is 8ohm (Bag End S15X-D) so I'm only getting about 140w out of it but it sounds much much louder... still as Merton said earlier it can run out of steam on a very loud gig. My main head up to now is the Markbass LMII which I was very happy with till I tried the little MB200... now I am also considering retiring the LMII in favour of either the MB500 or the MB800 for my louder gigs which are mostly just weddings and functions but in bigger hotels and function rooms where you need a bit of extra grunt... The GK tone is definitely doing it for me though... all my basses sound great thru this little mamma!! Even if I buy one of the more powerful MB heads I would not sell the MB200... its a fab little piece of kit and almost fits in yer pocket!! Is anyone using an MB head with any of the newer GK cabs like the Neo series or the MBE series?
22. Yes the Stingray is still up for grabs and open to decent offers... the bass in the link posted by Stingraypete was not mine!!
23. Now listed on ebay... Pre Ernie Ray
