Does anyone know where i can get one of these from? Saw one while is was over in the states! Please Help???

Saw Karnivool in southampton last night! and i can say was that i've never heard such a good bass tone at a small gig! This popped up on talkbass at some point and might help you out, this is from jonto a member on there: "I use an Ashdown EVO II 500 live and in the studio I'll use a number of heads, mainly an Ampeg SVT-CL or SVT-2, plus also Eden, Sunn and Aguilar gear, as well as my Ashdown of course. I use a boss bass equaliser (GEB-7) to reduce a bit of the low mids (160Hz) that are naturally produced from my Warwick Thumb-6, I also run an ODB-3 but I've just bought a Tech-21 XXL, which is a monster distortion, a bit differnt to the ODB-3, which is an overdrive. I also use a DD-20 boss delay and an OC-3 boss octave pedal for some parts of newer songs"

I'm after a 5 string bass, that would be suited for someone with small hands, So far i've owned/tried a Yam TRB and a Stringray 5 and found both of the neck just slighty too big! What about a jazz style bass? I've heard jazz necks are pretty small? Can anyone recommend any basses?

I'd say grab a Dave Hall VT bass pedal, V versatile pedal, can do valve warmth as well as full on distortion. I brought one a month ago and absolutely love it for the same sort of thing, just to add a little bit of warmth to my Eden, and now i'm maybe considering buying another to have one for full on overdrive/distortion sounds and another one just to leave on to give me some warmth. The pedal has an a hand built valve Pre-amp which uses a 12AX7 (ECC83) pre-amp valve.

Yeah, That might be a good avenue to explore! Im not really sure it'd be worth it tho as i'd have to find an original moog pre amp, which i think would be tricky!! Although saying that I have just found a new scratch plate and pup's on fleabay.com!!

I've been in talks with mike from Iceni guitars about making me a Semi custom built guitar (he had a body and neck lying about) and i just wondered what peoples opinions/ pros & cons are on buying a custom built guitar compared to say a normal high end bass.
