Hey Dude, Thanks for checking us out man, even if it was brief, Yea the two bass player thing is a lil odd, lol, But its come about as i sometimes take the role of rhythm guitar on my bass, using loads of fx's and distortion, wich means the lead singer can fill the gap i leave with his bass, And yea, on those particular recordings you wont here two bass guitars, but if you check out this recording you'll see us both in action. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wvCWcPTMAVg And heres our youtube link, Theres a few interviews of us on demon fm that might explain things a lil more, http://www.youtube.com/user/OfficialRockMe...u/4/j-l5oQs3MWY
Its by far not our best performance how ever, Just thought id throw that in there, Its unfortunately the only example i can give you of the two bass's i suppose its a taste, il have to get too work on mixing the tracks weve recently had recorded, of which there are much better versions of 'Disposable Love' and other songs, Il let you know when that happens but it wont be till ive sorted out all my final year uni stuff. have a flick through the vids of us at the leadmill, there poorer recordings but the performance are much better, lol

I had a listen to your music briefly on myspace but I couldn't really tell there were 2 of you!
Lots of research and also speaking to people who have had basses built for them already. Input form the luthier is crucial as well. 5.
Joe, I've been through the custom build process a few time... I'd think about the phrasing of your questions as a few of them can easily be read as the same. I've tried to answer them best I can. Make sure you alter those questions. There are basically only 2 questions above if you word them right, then you cabbage more useful questions... Shep
Hey Shep, Thanks for taking the time to answer these questions, and pick fault with them, thats all useful stuff. Are the updated questions more useful?

 8.
Welcome dude! My 2nd bass was also a Shine 6 string! It served me well for a good few years that did, still got it too just in case
Yea, there not a bad make, ive had mine i bought mine after playing bass for a year so that was ... 4 years ago now, theres not much original shine bass left anymore though, i cant help but alter it, but it suits me, feels rite and sounds good so thats all that matters i suppose.
 9. thanks for the welcomes guys, Im from mansfield / chesterfield area.
 10. Hello people, Im Joe. Ive been playing bass now for ... erm ... 5 years now. And ive enjoyed every second, and its the best thing a guitarist buddy of mine ever talked me into. My first bass was a wesley, a cheep thing to get me started. It did the job, by after a year it became very nasty!! lol. You get what you pay for. My Second and current bass guitar is a Shine 6 string. Ok shine arnt the best make out there, but it does the job, and ive pretty heavily customised it now, so theres not much original shine left. I am a bit of a gear head, but it stems from working as a sound engineer, and doing a BSC in Audio Recording Technology, of which im in my final year and i cant wate to leave, its been fun, but ive had enough now. So in terms of gear, i have just the one FX pedal, its the KORG AX3000B Of which ive created some custom pre sets, its an awesome versatile pedal, and it does more than i want or need, great for experimenting with. I have 3 amps ... =s lol, My main amp is a 160 watt Laney R4, a nice sounding amp, an old Taorque 100 watt amp from the 80's and a 300 watt Laney HardCore. The reason for these amps is, i use the Laney R4 in my room, The Laney Hard Core on stage, and the second bass player in the band im in uses the Torque 100 Watt. So. The Band - RockMelon!!! Joining RockMelon has been an awesome experience!! I love playing live music, and just jamming with the guys creating music thats just so much fun to play. You can find out more about us and listen to our music at; www.rockmelon.co.uk www.myspace.com/therockmelon also on facebook and youtube. Weve played Sheffield's, Leadmill and The plug, as well as Blast Festival 2009, of which we headlined the second day, of which the Sugerbabes Headlined the 1st. Mainly our gigging scene is in mansfield / chesterfield / sheffield, but we try to get about a bit too. Were currently looking for a new drummer so if anyones interested, get in touch!! Last year we headed on down to london to record 3 singles with The Animal Farm, im currently mastering these as part of my coursework o my degree. You can preview the unmastered version on the myspace! Once mastered were hoping for radio play. Anyway Back To Me, Currently im looking through some guitar books on speed playing, as im into virtuoso musicians such as Vai, Joe Sat, Mr. Big. And im hoping to brush up on my theory, as im wanting to get out there after ive finished uni and get a job as a bassist / musician. Id love the band to make it, but i cant rely on it. I do love fancy techniques and technical riffs, but i like to think i know when theres too much or a song just needs something simple. Im always striving to be different and improve my skills. Any questions, dont hesitate to ask, I want to be sociable so please get in touch
 11. Hi there, Im currently studying at university, im in my final year, and my current assignment is to build an interactive multimedia video. My subject is "Building a Custom Bass". The idea is, its got to be informative. So i thought id come here and ask people the following questions to inform my research and my assignment. It would be much appreciated if you would take a few seconds just to answer the following questions. What information did you need to know before going ahead with a custom build? If in an ideal world your were having a custom bass built, what information would you want to know before going ahead with the build? What information have you or do you find hard to find on custom bass's and builds? How did you go about the process of choising the components for your bass? What advice would you need before going ahead with a build? (Wood choices, electronics etc) ? Would you need information on different designs of bass (such as thru neck to bolt on neck) and the pro's and cons? Thanks for your time and your help. Cheers, Joe.
