1. You've been holding that deposit a long time, Lozz. Are they ever gonna pick it up?
  2.
Leszek, Great doing business with you and meeting you in person! The F1 sounded sweet! It was worth the drive.
Does that mean this amp is now sold? Leszek, please amend your topic title to reflect *SOLD* status, as per forum rules. Shemeck, this is an English forum and all public communication should be in English please. PM if you would like to use a different language. Thanks.
Think he has, £575 ono.
Has now, yep. That wasn't there when I viewed it - he did a cheeky edit
I dont mind posting, but i would really have to check the details of that out as ive not posted a bass in a huge case like this before, and dimension restrictions might screw me over.
Get yourself over to either www.parcelmonkey.co.uk or www.parcel2go.com. They make things very easy to do, and it's really inexpensive. They use DHL, Home Delivery Network, etc. (I usually opt for DHL) and the price includes collection and delivery. 9 times out of 10 it all happens in 24 hrs, regardless of choosing 48 hr or 2-3 day service - they are excellent. You can send pretty large things and up to 25kg I think. The only thing that can drive the price up is if you need insurance on a valuable item. Anyway, worth a look. I use it all the time to save money buying things from eBay. Seller says £12, I say I'll arrange my own courier thanks - £4.95
  4.
Any chance of gutshots? Totally can't afford it unless you wanna do some severe trading, but totally curious.
Thanks for the interest, Mr. Foxen. I'm not keen to take it apart, but I will be adding HQ photos as soon as we get some decent whether around here! The right light makes all the difference Feel free to PM me with any stuff you might have to trade. You never know! Cheers, Stuee.

    Sold

You have to specify a price mate, or admin will remove the post. It doesn't have to be firm, but at least a ballpark figure. As a tip, I'd advise working hard on borrowing a better camera from somewhere. The better the pics, the easier you will find it to sell your bass. And details of your whereabouts, whether viewing is possible and whether you will courier, etc., would be useful info to add. Good luck with the sale! Cheers, Stuee
  6. Would you mind doing us a favour and amending your topic title please? It should say *WITHDRAWN*. I just wasted about 5 minutes reading through all the info about these bags. Thanks, Stuee.
  7. I might be up for one of these sets, but you have omitted to list individual prices Cieran. Any chance?
  8.
I'm not aware that any changes have been made - I'll have a poke around a bit with a torch and a stick..................
YAY! All hail the Hamster
  9. Nobody feelin' the valve vibe on BC? BUMPETY BUMP!
  10.
Pretty sure they are Rotosound Swing Bass Nickels, I have a set on 2 of my Basses.

I play elites, and they have red ribbon at the ball end, and blue at the tuner end so I'm pretty sure those are the ones you're looking for
So there goes our databass then. Not gonna work unless each type of string has something unique about it. Shame
  11. I can't stop looking at this bass! Boohoo!! Somebody please buy my HIWATT so I can relieve this gentleman of his bass
  12. Just bought a pair of Chord patch cables from Marc, which arrived quickly and as described, packaged nicely in their original box from Chord. Nice comms & a pleasure to deal with. Thanks mate :-)
  13.
SNIP... I always use it stacked, as the picl it has no provision for being in the trad way horizontal... SNIP
.:EDIT:. I'm not sure what you mean by that. They are pictured on the Avatar website horizontally and the logo badges are stuck on that way too...?
  14. Not to jump on the bandwagon or anything, but it does look like it was thrown together out of brand new looky-likey parts and beaten up slightly, approximately err... yesterday! I don't trust it one bit. Grrrrrr...
  15. I can tell you from experience that in-ear-monitoring (without an amp) in a live situation (or any for that matter) SUCKS for bass. There are so many things about it that I dislike anyway (some down to personal preference, some practicality, some vibe-related, + the fear of being deafened), but the main thing that is more specific to bass is that without an amp or decent monitor you can't feel anything, and we all know you have to feel bass, not just hear it. One thing you could do, if the engineer is up for it, is augment your in-ears by having a sub unit on stage with you. This won't interfere with any live mic's but it should at least let you feel a little of what you're doing. Worth talking to him about it anyway.
  16. Have a look at this chaps, see what you think: How to plug a screw hole in a guitar neck
  17. Oh I seeee! I thought you'd actually physically found one. I've been after one of these for a while, but I'm not getting one I haven't touched, especially when you've gotta pay import duty, VAT and everything else. Interesting though, ta!
  18.
I'm interested, but ignorant. Could someone please post a quick explanation / review so we can all know what SC is, how it works, why it's great, etc.
Probably easiest and best to let SoundCloud tell you themselves. Here's a tour: http://soundcloud.com/tour/
  19. I like this idea. I think it could be a great enhancement to the forum to be able to add the SoundCloud player to posts, for all sorts of things. Apart from music, members could use it as an easy way to include audio clips of basses, etc., in the marketplace. Admins, HERE's a link that should help. Full instructions on how to add the button and the functionality.
  20.
SNIP... Found this guy and loved it, if it were a 4-string (and I wasn't so earth shatteringly broke) I'd buy the hell out of it! Hagstrom F-800...SNIP
So where, pray, did you find this old Hag?
  21. I think it's pretty standard for all concerned to expect 2 x 45 minute sets, with a little leeway to accommodate the atmosphere on the night. But 2 x 1hr would usually be a maximum. Considering the punters can sometimes start off relatively indifferent, but by the end won't let you stop, it's fair to adjust set times with that in mind. As you guys do, a shorter first set and longer second, holding 2 - 3 songs in reserve for encores. This all depends on the money, the relationship you have with the venue, the punters, the vibe and how much you're enjoying the night (and sometimes how many songs the band can actually do!). I've been in bands where we just keep going until the landlord stops it, because everyone's having so much fun. Cheers, Stuee.

    Ebay links forum
I don't have a problem at all with people joining to buy stuff. But there does seem to be a trend for people to join, post often quite expensive stuff for sale, taking advantage of free advertising and avoiding the fees they would face on ebay etc. SNIP
I'm not taking any sides here, I haven't read the whole thread, but if I can play devil's advocate for a moment... People coming here to sell great gear is also a boon to the players, enthusiasts and collectors who populate this forum, as the whole atmosphere of BassChat encourages much better communication between parties, and almost certainly better prices than eBay as a result. I must admit I signed up because I wanted to use the marketplace, but within a very short time I have got caught up with the whole great vibe of the community and will remain for as long as it survives. And with any inclusive community, whatever brings in new members and helps it thrive, is good... right? Like I said, though, this isn't my hard & fast opinion. This discussion is far more nuanced than that I know. But it's a side of it to bear in mind. Cheers, Stuee.
  23. Shame you're not into trades. I would consider a straight swap for my [topic="119911"]HIWATT Custom 400[/topic]. Oh well, GAS in full effect. Time to open a window...
  24.
SNIP ...this will most likely be the busiest thread in the world unless someone deletes it, quick!
Told you!
  25. Hi Geoff, Here's a link that should help. You'll have to contact the admins to get them to enable this, but it looks pretty easy and could be a great enhancement for all of us if they do it. Hopefully it's compatible with the IP Board forum software! Basically it puts a SoundCloud button in the forum posting jobby so anyone can add the player to their posts. This would be great for including audio clips of basses, etc., in the marketplace IMO. Maybe start a topic in the Site Issues forum. I'll certainly support the idea Cheers, Stuee.
