Just read that Virtuoso not recommended for cracked finishes. Apologies, I should have checked first.

The Virtuoso Cleaner and Polish is good for nitro basses. Fairly pricey, but good stuff. Had mine for years. https://www.theguitarrepairworkshop.com/product-page/virtuoso-cleaner Dr Ducks Axe Wax is also meant to be good. I've got some but not got around to using it yet.

Hi folks, Moving on a couple of bits I no longer use. First up is my Cioks Adam power supply. Fits nicely under a PT Nano. It's a few years old now, but it's in excellent condition. Apparently it's discontinued now. Comes with a number of power leads, as well as UK plug and the screws needed to attach it to a Pedaltrain. More info here. £60 posted in the UK - SOLD Next, I have a couple of 'American Loopers' pedals. First is a standard true bypass loop. It has a small scratch on the enclosure, but the pedal works flawlessly. LED is blue £20 posted in the UK. Details here The other one is a 'switcher', which switches between two separate loops. I used it to easily go from one drive pedal to another with one click, as opposed to turning one off, then turning on another. It's in excellent condition. Further details on the AL website here. LED's are red on the left and blue on the right. £40 posted in the UK. SOLD Thanks all

Thanks to @Sparky Mark, I now have a cab up and running! Thank you very much. Hooked up the speakers, tested the ohms on the end of the speaker plug and was getting around 8 ohms, so that was the first good sign. Next, the PP3 test had all speakers moving in the same direction. Added the amp, and now it's making actual sound! The first diagram you shared was more helpful for the 410TX. I only had 4 hookup wires to play with, so perhaps the 410TVX has 5? (judging from the sketched schematic). Regardless, thanks all for your help. Recording next week, so glad it's sorted

Great, thanks. I'll take a look and report back.

How would I do that? I tested each speaker by putting a PP3 on the terminals and they all moved so I'm hoping they're all good. Would plugging in a speaker cable into the jack and using a PP3 on the end of the speaker cable make all 4 speakers move? Thanks for your help!

Hi folks, I picked up an old 90's Peavey 410TX. It's the 8 ohm version, 350 watts. The speakers are currently all unhooked and I'm struggling to find a wiring diagram, or even a similar diagram which I could use. Are there any owners out there who fancy taking the back panel off and taking a few pictures for me, so I can get it up and running again. I'm a little clueless on things like this. Thanks all.

Very nice. I'd seen this too and had some messages with the seller, but like you, it was a fairly hefty round trip. Decided against it in the end. Great price though for a great sounding and looking bass. I picked up a "Commie Red" Dano a couple of months back. Great basses.

I think they've been going since the 70's. Made in Japan and not hugely common over here. Larry Graham is probably their most famous artist. He used an all white jazz back in the day. They offered a range of pickups, so I assume it's for ease of just dropping different ones in. The base of the bobbins on these pickups are the same outline shape as a pickup cover, so they sit kind of flat against the bottom of the cavity...if that makes sense! There's an old catalogue here which has them in. They were referred to as 'jaggy' pickups, but are basically Schecters/Tom Anderson pickups. https://brochures.yokochou.com/guitar-and-amp/moon/1985/sp_en_09.html

Hi all, I've got a new amp on the way, so making some room. This is an early 1990's Peavey Alphabass head. Fairly rare around these parts. USA-made, 165 watts, rackmountable. Easy enough to carry, even one handed. Serviced last summer and had a few preamp valves replaced and was given a clean bill of health. I shipped this over from Germany at the start of Covid, so it has only had light use since my ownership. Never gigged whilst I've had it. There's not loads of info about these as I don't think too many were made. If you're looking for a reliable, lightweight (for a valve amp!) amp for not too many pounds, you can't go too wrong with this. The case has some scratches, but obviously hidden if it's in a rack. Can get a clean tone by cranking the master and then gain to taste. Doing it the other way, the gain gets quite gnarly early on, but it's more than enough power to keep up with a band. Price is £350, not looking for any trades thanks. I'm not able to ship it right now due to not having suitable packaging, so collection from just outside Leek in Staffordshire is welcome, or somewhere reasonably close to hand over in person is fine. Thanks all

Hi all, Having a clear out of some things I don't use that often, so up next is a 1978 Fender Precision. This thing screams late 70's punk I picked this up a few years ago from a guy who bought it in 1979 in Blackpool. Since it's been in my ownership, it's been used lightly, with a couple of gigs before Covid hit. It's a black and maple, late 70's P bass, so not a huge amount to say. It's definitely not a collector's piece and has been very well used. It has tons of scrapes and scratches, but works just as it should and is very comfortable to play. The Dimarzio is obviously a replacement. It was soldered in by the original owner not long after purchasing the bass. The pickups were originally held together with some electrical tape, so these have been re-soldered and re-spliced, and heat shrunk so make sure they're connected as well as possible. I also have one half of the original pickup, which will be included in the sale. Asked the owner if they could find the other half, but it's long gone. The Dimarzio has a price sticker left on the side of the pickup cover from the original purchase...£10.99 if I remember right. Thought it was a nice touch, so it's still on there. The nut looks to be a replacement - there is a small strip of maple just in front of it, which suggests it could have been damaged and replaced in a former life. It's an old repair and doesn't affect anything with the nut or playability - if I was going to keep it, I'd consider replacing it but it's works fine as is. I've tried to capture it in the pictures. Truss rod turns as it should - overall just a solid workhorse bass. As a late 70's P, she's not the lightest. Weighs 5.08kg or just a smidge over 11 lbs. Price is £1650. I'm not looking for any trades thanks. I am happy to ship, but will need to charge extra and can get a price for you based on where you are. Alternatively, collection from just outside Leek in North Staffs is preferable, or can meet somewhere reasonable for some petrol money. Thanks all, happy to answer any questions, or take additional photos.

Hi all, Having a clear out of some things I don't use that often, so up next is a Moon/Warmoth jazz bass. I picked up the fully-loaded body and tuners last year, and decided to go with a birdseye maple/ebony neck from Warmoth. It also has 'Arizona Blue' dot markers, which look great. Tele-bass headstock, as opposed to the usual J/P headstock. The body is late-70's I think and has original Tom Anderson/Schecter high-output single coils. The neck pickup needed a rewind which was completed by Armstrong pickups last year. They don't have a pickup cover, as was their style at the time. Body wood is Walnut and looks darker in real life than it does on the pictures. Due to its age, it's not in perfect condition, with a couple of smaller dings. It's very comfortable to play and balances nicely. Weight on the scales is 4.46kg or 9.8lbs. Controls are VVT. The tone put is push/pull which brings the bridge pickup out of phase. Not hugely different tones, and I think it could be wired for series/parallel if so desired. The switch is a 3-way pickup selector - neck, both or bridge. The neck is in perfect condition and looks and feels amazing. Warmoth quality is right up there with the best. Truss rod turns with no problems, as you would expect from a brand new neck. Comes with a brass nut. I had this put together for me by Jack's Instrument Services in Manchester back in the summer, but I need to thin the amount of basses I have, so it's up for sale. Price is £750.

I'd be interested in your experience of Tuff Cab, once you start that bit. I've got an old Peavey I wanted to cover in tolex, but painting seems easier and somewhat cheaper. Did you get the Tuff Cab from Blue Aran? Seems a lot of things are out of stock there at the moment. Cheers

Fantastic job. Looks brand new.
