NOW SOLD THANKS! Hi all, In my never ending quest to find the ultimate Muff sound, I'm putting this up for sale. I got it in February and it sounds prettyyyyy pretttyyyy good. I could go on about it, but Juan Alderete (of Mars Volta fame) recently put a review up on Youtube here which really samples all of its sounds... Looking for £100 plus a fiver postage. Cost me about £140 including customs getting into the UK, and this is in excellent condition. Just two strips of pedalboard tape on the back. Any questions, please ask! Couple of pics....

Hi all, Just having a clear out of bits and bobs I'm not needing or using. Everything's a fiver, plus probably a pound or so for postage, but we can discuss that at the time. If you want more than one thing, we can also discuss the price. Good times! Marvel Straplocks in chrome. They don't come with the actual strap buttons, but these can be had off ebay for a pound or two. - £5! Jazz bass control plate from a 90's Schecter custom shop - couple of scratches, but nothing major - £5! NJS Footswitch - can't remember where I got this, but it works. Has standard jack cable - £5! Any questions, please ask! Many thanks all! Payment by bank transfer please...not much for Paypal.

The first nuts on stringed instruments were made from cashew nut due to the ease of use of the material and the abundance of them. They changed to bone (and a variety of other materials) after the cashew nut 'corroded' and wore down, usually over the space of a few months.

Next up in the downsizing is my Matamp 2x12 bass cab. 4ohm, rated at 600 watts, I'm fairly sure it has Celestions in it. Looks great with the salt and pepper grill cloth and black tolex. There's plenty on here about these cabs and it sounds pretty damn amazing. It fits in my little Fiesta with the back seats down and is a pretty easy one man lift. I believe these are about 30kg, and I'm pretty scrawny and can manage it. Speakon connectoion only. There are a couple of tiny rips in the tolex, but nothing really worth mentioning. If you want pics if them, I'll sort it, but it has only been gigged a couple of times and never abused at practices. Collection only for this one, or I could deliver within an hour or so from Lancaster for petrol money. Looking for[s] £250[/s] SOLD which is a bit of a bloody bargain I'd say! Here are some pics, and questions, please ask! And next to my Jazz so you get an idea of the size...

Hi all, As part of my rig downsizing, the GK 800RB has got to go. I've had this amp about 2 years and it has never let me down. These things are built like the proverbial tank and never miss a beat. For those who don't know, this amp has a 300 watt power section at 4 ohms, and a 100 watt power section at 8 ohms, allowing you to bi-amp. I've never run it this way and always just run a 4 ohm cab at 300 watts. Sounds great and gets nice and gritty when the boost knob is cranked. I've only gigged this amp a couple of times and it sounds lovely...sound very warm for a solid state amp. The amp will come with the rack ears which I had to get separately from Polar Audio. Only ever issue I've ever had with this amp was sound cutting in and out when I first got it.. After a quick Google, it seems that there can be issues where the effects loop messes with the signal. I've put a patch cable connecting the two jacks for the effects loop and problem solved. If this bothers potential buyers, I'll get it sorted by a tech, but I'd have to raise the price accordingly. As I say, never had an issue since putting the cable there. I've kept the amp in a Boshma 4u shallow case since I've had it, which I would include in the sale for another £50. Collection of this beast (from Lancaster) would be ideal, or I can drive and deliver within reason, but I'd want some petrol tokens. I'm occasionally down in Stoke on Trent at the in-laws too, so meeting up round there is a possibility. Looking for £350 please.NOW SOLD, I'm happy to sort delivery too but I'll need to get a price for it. Any questions please ask. Not looking for trades as I'm sorted for another amp now. Here's a few lovely pictures!

Anyone used the EBS Classic Session combo's - particularly the 120?
-
Thanks everyone for the help so far! I'll check out the GK combo's if I can and see what I think. I know Ampeg's quality has supposedly dropped in the last few years, but can't get away from that 'classic' bass tone. Thanks again!

Juju - that's pretty good. There's been a G-3 parted out on ebay this past week, but the pickguard was about £100 and the bridge was around £85 - that's before shipping and customs. Tommo - PM me your address and I'll get the guard out. Might be next week though.
-
Tommo - yeah, I think I may have paid slightly over the odds for it. There may have been alcohol involved in the bidding though.... You're welcome to the pickguard, but as you can see it's pretty shot. There's a pickguard template on the flyguitars website, but if you really want it, let me know!

Hi all, I picked this up yesterday from Parcelforce and finally got to spend a bit of time with it this afternoon. As you can see, it's a 70's Gibson G-3. I bought it saying it was a '1974' but I think they weren't in production just then. Pot codes date it to 1976, so I'll go with that. I got it off fleabay, saying it had been left in a cupboard for years, no bridge, no strings, wiring all shot, so I was never expecting a closet classic. Saying that, it is in better condition than I thought it would be.. always nice! The neck has really seen some action with the tuners covered in gunk/mold/crap from many years. Despite looking pretty bad, they still turn smoothly, so a good clean should help. The neck is lovely and worn in, but with a few chips out the fingerboard. Frets will need a good clean to assess them, they may need replacing. No nut on it currently, so I'll need a pro to sort that for me. I haven't tried the truss yet as I don't have the right Gibson tool for it, but neck seems pretty straight with a very slight back bow which will hopefully change under tension. Body is in good condition, although I suspect it's been refinished at some point. The paint job is good for its age, with only a few chips and nicks in the finish, but the pick-guard screw holes and one of the strap button holes are filled and painted - hence me thinking refinish. I'm not too fussed though, I love the look of these basses when they're beat up! Pickups were stuck hard onto the pick-guard thanks to the rusted screws, but I've got them off now. They're pretty filthy (my girlfriend called them disgusting) but nothing a good scrub won't cure. Pickguard was well cracked with cut wires between pickups. One of the pots wouldn't even budge but I managed to salvage the knobs. Everything else is being thrown out - sacrilege maybe, but it really is good for nobody! So I'm not wanting to spend a huge amount on bringing her back to life. I can get a replacement pick-guard from the states and pots etc are cheap enough. Biggest expense will probably be a new bridge as I'm looking at a Hipshot A style. Seems a few folks have replaced Grabber bridges with these with good results. So there we go...oh I should have mentioned. I have zero cash at the moment thanks to this, a car service and a new roof last year, so don't expect daily updates. Probably won't start buying things for it for a few months, but it'll be nice to keep coming back to it every few months. Wish me luck!

Hi all, With 1 gig played in the last 3 years, I'm thinking of downscaling my amp and I'm hoping someone could tell me about the Ampeg combo's - particularly the BA115HP and BA115 (Yes, I've searched). Reviews seem fairly mixed with them, and I can't say I'd never play a gig again so will still need something suitable for the job. Just seems a waste having a GK 800RB and Matamp cab sat here without being used in anger. Thanks in advance!

I have a Boschma 4U Shallow case. It doesn't have rear rail support, and to be honest, I've never needed it. Had a GK 800RB in there for a few years now with no problems.

I can't tell if you're serious or not, but anyone who spend 2.5k on that needs some serious help
