Trouble is it's sheared off inside the hole, so nothing to grip. Thanks for the reply though.
So use the second tip and drill it out. That way, you won't scar the surrounding wood, then you can plug the hole with a sliver of toothpick and bung a new screw in. The soldering iron trick wont work if theres no head to grip.

Good quality pair of pliers with nicely squared sides, a very steady hand, and some patience while you unscrew it sideways gripping the remaining stump. If that fails, you will need a dremel with a small metal bit and an *extremely* steady hand to drill it out.
Wicked. Can't make it, but good luck. I'm sure I saw the first incarnation supporting someone in the mid-80's & deffo on Channel 4's ECT, Lyttle used a Telecaster. Still doing Crazy Motorcycle?
Yep, Jim still uses a Tele, Johnnie still uses that battered SG, and yes, we still do Crazy Motorcycle, I think we'd probably get lynched if we omitted it 7 days to go, whos comin?

Can you still buy "Rustins Plastic Coating"? that stuff is great for 2 pack clear coat loveliness, although some b4stard in the EU has probably tried to ban it...

I'd personally say Nickel 45-105 roundwound in practically any reputable make, all the Rock thump you will ever need on a P-Bass/J-Bass. Having said that, use anything you like really, your current Rotos will do just fine. Avoid anything too thin though, Metal and 35-85 doesn't sound too good, too much flap and too much fret collision when you dig in. Stainless Steel will give a much more modern up to date Metal sound, but will mash your frets quicker. I'd just stick with the Rotos as thats what you like and are used to, and I doubt the rest of the band will complain about the subtle nuances of your bass tone for at least the first 5 rehearsals. If/when they do, then you have a reference point to what sound they are expecting of you, then come back here and get more advice. Witterth: One of the best Rock players in the world uses 50 gauge flats, fingerstyle, and he has absolutely no loss of top end

As per title, excellent quality USB powered interface, perfect for home or mobile laptop recording duties. Has dedicated 1/4 guitar and XLR mic inputs with attenuator switches so it will handle anything. Output is on RCA phono jacks, with an additional headphone socket at the front. Input/output mixable on front panel for latency-free monitoring. Comes with proprietary "Session" recording software, but works fine with Cubase, Soundforge, Protools etc. Latest info and drivers available from the M-Audio website. 50 quid posted in UK. I accept Paypal.

Genuine SKB (not a copy). Excellent condition, very little use. Front and rear rails so you can load either end (or both ends if you have power blocks, patchbays etc). Has full complement of clips but needs some M5 screws depending on how much gear you are planning to fill it with. 80 quid, pick up from London area. Will swap/PX for EMG pickups or WHY. Hey! If "an aggressive crossover of Lizzy, AC/DC and Motorhead" floats your boat (and why not!), then come down and support a Basschatters band. Hope to see some of you there for a night of old school 80s British ROCK/NWOBHM, with Rogue Male, then the Metalworks band, then a Rock/Metal clubnight til the early hours! Print off the flyer below for 5.00 entry (and hand it in at the till so we get brownie points ) We're on at around 8pm, so please get there early. I used to use Dunlop nylon .73 for everything (guitar and bass, all styles) but I got hold of a LOAD of cheap 1mm normal type, and I am loving the bass attack, although I break about 4 per rehearsal/gig (which is why I used nylons in the first place) so until I run out of the cheapies, I am using those, but I'll probably try nylon 1mms now my thumb is getting used to the extra punishment that the hard picks give. I absolutely mash my picks (my angle of attack is about 30 degrees sideways) so I have to blow loads of pretty coloured dust off my bass after every session

Hi all Great amp, great deal, great packing and fast despatch despite courier hiccup. I would have no hesitation in dealing with him again. Cheers! Pete Korpse

Every metal straplock I have owned (Schaller, Warwick, unbranded) has self destructed or come undone. I use either Grolsch washers, or those twisty Dunlop plastic ones, both are brilliant, Dunlop are slightly better on something like the Status where the strap button is on an odd angle. Grolsch are best on the Thunderbird, where the Dunlops won't fit behind the neck joint. Cheap and cheerful, and no moving parts to go wrong.
