    Email dropped earlier (via Bandmix) letting me know that I had been selected for a digital audition with a guy 30+ years younger than me.  Clearly digital auditions are the 2025 alternative of standing in a room for two hours with three strangers.

     

    Anyhoo, intrigued, I viewed the guys Bandmix profile, and once again another bloke bigging himself up; age difference aside, I simply couldn't work with anyone that uses the expression, 'midweek meat up'.  

     

    Sigh.

     

     

     

    If you go to the audition I'd advise keeping your back to the wall ;) 😛 😂

    Sonicake Pocket Master just arrived - nano size effects processor for £50

    Bought a Sonicake Pocket Master yesterday from Amazon as it was on special offer for £42.49 (still is at the moment) and it arrived last night.

     

    What a fantastic unit, great sounds/tones for it for bass guitar & six string electric guitar (although there's only 5 bass presets but you can overwrite some of the guitar ones if you want), it's terrific when you pair the unit with the software available from the Sonicake website for android mobile phone making it easier to change the presets on the Pocket Master. Really impressed with it and it's been perfect for silent practice last night and today, a total bargain, see pics below 😃

    Record Store Day 2025

    Me and my son Joe queued for a few hours at Casbah Records in Greenwich last April For the 2LP limited edition of Ian Hunter's Defiance Part 2 - Fiction which had three tracks not on the original release. It was an OK experience and they had someone from the shop coming down the queue whenever a RSD release sold out so that anyone wanting it could bugger off !!. I got a copy which I was glad of, the kicker is I don't have a turntable so I haven't even to be listen to the three tracks 😂 but I am a bit of a completist when it comes to Mr Hunter who's my favourite songwriter !! :D

    How was your gig last night?

    Well my gig last Friday certainly turned out to memorable as it's the last time I'll play with my band for sometime, possibly ever. Nothing to do with the gig but on Tuesday I learnt that my blood cancer which had been in remission has kicked off again so I'm likely to be facing 6 months of chemo which will keep me out of gigging and rehearsing. Bit of a bugger. And my lovely Father in Law passed away the day before so all in all a bit of an iffy week.  

     

    So sorry for your bad news, I hope the chemo puts you back into remission :)
