Sadly, I had a similar diagnosis 3 weeks ago Ray. I've already started selling stuff, to raise a bit of cash and to save the Mrs from being left with the job of disposing of things she doesn't fully understand. This forum is probably your best bet, depending on what you're selling. I put my Noble preamp up for sale on here a couple of weeks ago, it sold in 6 minutes! I'll be keeping 1 bass, 1 amp and 1 speaker though, to bequeath to my grandson in an an attempt to dissuade him from becoming a guitarist, and just in case an unprecedented miracle occurs......meanwhile, I'm concentrating on living in the moment. Good luck with it all.
My condolences on your terrible news, all the best

Good morning,
just a quick question, please be kind. Having been diagnosed with terminal cancer, it looks like I will be selling all my gear,in the very near future.
My question{s} are, is Basschat the best place for me to sell, and if so, how do I go about it,fees etc?
Thanks for your kind assistance
Best regards
Ray
So sorry about your diagnosis, basschat is fantastic for selling, I've bought and sold on here and it's been problem free, all the best Ray

Many years ago me and my mate Cliff went to see Ian Hunter at the Astoria in London, we got there really early so went to a bar upstairs in the venue and I notice the legendary Ariel Bender aka Luther Grosvenor (of Spooky Tooth, Stealer's Wheel & Mott The Hoople fame ) standing at the bar, we walk up to the bar and he turns and says to me "Don't I know you from somewhere" (which made my day !!) , we'd never actually met but we had a lovely chat the three of us, later he excused himself to go backstage to meet up with Mr Hunter, he was a lovely guy and so down to earth

Such terribly sad news, RIP Nick, my condolences to his wife and family. My overriding memory of him was how much bass gear he bought and sold, I truly marvelled at it, a true bass man

I feel for Justin, such a terrible illness/disability, he's a brilliant songwriter and singer, Del Amitri are a great band.

After the expense of an incoming Italian greyhound im going to drop some coin on one. Funnily enough I played one within the last week. It was the Sunburst one. I was really impressed ive got to be honest. Being a jazz bass fan and owned a Suhr,Sei, Modulus, Fender CS, MIJ Fender Jazz, it really was impressive. I would take one of the JJB300s over any Squier CV 70's Jazz bass. Just the feel of it for a start. Not a fan of the gloss necks on Squier jazz basses.. The neck was just amazing as roasted maple does feel. The pickups were powerful single coils. The frets were really great.. The only thing I might change is the pickups for some Aguilar 60's single coils... but those pickups were my choice for the Suhr....Stock sounded just like a 70's Jazz. A very comfortable 70's Jazz with a smaller Sadowsky(ish) body.. There is nothing not to like about these basses. imo. Kennys music are selling these for £299.
Anyone else notice the upside down Ricky style body on the bass in the background 😛

Yes their album is incredible, never really understood why they gave up but I guess he's done alright with the songwriting for others, producing etc. !! 😛

So, for a while I have been eyeing up the new ocean turquoise Gretsch junior jet ii bass, not having a lot of disposable income my wife had offered a couple of times to go halves with me on the cost of one but I had always declined.
Anyway the other day my wife told me that she had a delivery and asked if I would sign for it when the courier turned up.
Anyway the courier turned up I signed for the delivery and then my wife told me to open the box,
I thought maybe it was a new computer chair or something, I opened the box and my eyes lit up when I saw a Gretsch box inside the box, I was over the moon.
Anyway it is a great bass, the photo doesn't do it justice, in person it is much prettier and the colour is much nicer, it sounds great too and if someone told me this bass sold for twice what this sells for i wouldn't question it at all
That looks fantastic, I've fancied getting one for ages, GAS is hitting hard !! 😛

New Bass Day yesterday, a Harley Benton JP-45OP 4 string bass in a Natural finish, bought from Paul @Shepster8316 on Basschat. Fantastic bass that looks and sounds incredible and plays beauifully, the neck is a dream to play. Paul had set up the bass perfect with a low action, don't know how HB could produce such a killer bass for so little money !!, the roasted maple neck and fret board is stunning 😍. See pics below 🎸👍😃
