I almost don’t think I should question bassassin - but I think that the JD range are very recent ones made by Dyna. the fender japan range seems to had a bit of a reset in the last 2-3 years with differet series and model names so it’s possible they changed manufacturer?

See I thought that, and then I saw a photo of one in its case - the headstock fit perfectly in the corner of the case… I imagine in the 70s that was Apple like packaging and product design!

Problem is the design is just good enough that I can see how it would have got passed... but not good enough when 1000's of musicians are using them. The expensive answer is probably a 3rd party power supply. on a pedal board, but it seems overkill when it's the only pedal I'm currently using. (mind you I could then have a midi controller next to it? hmm

Never noticed that before. It does make it easier to read - and strictly speaking the short hand for a cab's speaker config is a equation...
