  1. 1409 for me which seems improbably low
  2. After all the work Pete and I did to try and get the topic on topic again 🤣 and yes, the band were in a pub next to Lidl, not in the middle aisle
  3. I’ve been starved of live music for a year and a half. I am quite happy to explore things outside my comfort zone!
  4. They were tight - sounded good. I would have gone and listened if I had known it was him.
  5. The gig, not the band. mans the bishop apparently saved a lot of people from the holocaust or something. Sounds good, Was unaware that was celebrated in stanningley but there you go.
  6. Söns of röbin @peteb - apparently celebrating a Slovakian bishop
  7. Stanningley, over from the jug and barrel I did wonder that it could have been you, tight band. Hang on fb should be able to tell me who it was...
  8. I went to Lidl today and the pub next to it had a live band playing outside. v loud and heavier stuff than I would go listen to by choice - but they sounded great! so so good to hear live music again, even if from 400m of Lidl carpark away
  9. because we are talking about the same disease? and possibly the most similar to the UK culturally? The vaccination numbers aren't massively different either. Netherlands vaccine uptake for 18+ (one dose) 82.4% (full 52.7%) United Kingdom vaccine uptake for 18+ (one dose) 87.8%, (full 67.8%) Why wouldn't we want to learn from our neighbours going through similar situations to us? BTW I'm not arguing that the Government did the right things in terms of vaccine procurement, and the NHS has again been brilliant with rollout. I work with people around the world and hear quite a lot of my colleagues experience, it's quite telling to get an email from someone, say in Australia grumbling about their lockdown and compare the mortality rate per 100,000 between countries. We're doing well with vaccines, but we've lost so many I don't feel the need to start beating my chest in some kinda nationalistic fervour over that. It's kinda not the point, but the Netherlands have just short of half the mortality rate accounting for population size the UK has (differing measuring methods excepted)
  10. I think @DiMarco is going on actual experience of what happened in the Netherlands. Of course the U.K. wont be in restrictions again in two weeks - even if all the science says we should be we know it will take our glorious leaders a month or so to make the decision.
  11. It all becomes a bit meaningless, get 5 bass players in a room with a a bunch of P basses, say Modern vintage, fender roadworn, fender pino, Van Zandt, Moollon and MasHino Olinto, and let’s throw an Overwater or Bravewood in there for a bit of U.K. representation, even a Bass collection profile bass... same strings, same tech setting up ... would all 5 bass players agree on which were the top 3 P basses you think?
  12. Famous for a prison
  13. I liked this one
  14. nice beach when you get there though
  15. You adding your bass to this thread or starting your own?
  16. are there more Yamaha BB now in Manchester than all Japan?
  17. black label= Labella, blue label = secret
  18. I worried that might happen. Relabled Warwicks probably... Who made the old version?
  19. OT but... WHAT???!!!
  20. According to my 3 year old daughter it’s a spitting image! Though I think I have less hair than that!
  21. Mrs Travis “I was going to book that cottage For our week off, but when I went to book, our account had been emptied... payment to bass Direct... Andy we spoke about this, you promised no more basses, for a few weeks at least” Andy “well.... I kept my promise....”
  22. If I was after a 5 string and lived in London pretty much everything you could ever want is currently for sale in the "for sale" forum!

I wouldn't know what to want anymore. Maybe the GAS will get triggered again though. First half of 2021 got me a 5str Sadowsky PJ, 6str Yamaha John Patitucci sig and a Warwick Thumb NT6. I-think-I'm-covered.

@DiMarco - you say it as if it's a bad thing to have no GAS?!

@LukeFRC indeed. My current lack of gas is disturbing.

I just bought a Mesa Boogie V-Twin pedal 5 mins ago though so I can go Ben Shepherd style later on this week.
