  1. I used to go to a church where there would be a pile of songs we would "probably" play and the leader would just pick and choose as we went led by whatever was happening in the meeting and what other ppl were bringing. Musically you could either get grumpy and annoyed by a lack of structure... or embrace it and get a really good musical workout and enjoy having to write baselines on the fly.
  2. That’s not a quarter pounder SPB-3 but a SPB-1 I prefer the one you’ve got bu a long way!
  3. But I didn't go this year?
  4. In this thread yes!
  5. All blade pickups! Toaster next?
  6. I saw this on ebay. I'm glad I didn't bid as you had been lusting after it for years.... and I only saw it on the ebay ad!
  7. It's been 3 hours. Anyone close to the Next in Bangor and can go and rescue Owen?
  8. One with flats, one with rounds …
  9. They sound like characters in a childrens tv show!
  10. It’s ok it’s also on eBay at a different price so I think you will get away with this one https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wal-Pro-1983-/373789734565?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l6249&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0
  11. Wow - all this hate for Spector, you feeling ok?
  12. Is it going to wear flats or rounds?
  13. Their MEC pickups were close copies of the EMGs they used to use - I had a 1985 thumb and the Original MEC preamp was such a good copy of the EMG they had even copied the silkscreening that said EMG! later they fell out with Schaller by copying their own hardwear made by someone else and not solid brass
  14. I’m wrong it’s a bloody hole
  15. I’m not sure it is now!
  16. Oh yeah its sticking out rather than a hole dug in
  17. Is it a block? It looks like a trench dug in to me
  18. Fixable by the right person though
  19. Ah fair enough that sounds like a good reason.
  20. have a look... see if the values are different of either pots or capacitor. I would look at strings before pots, but all being equal It might be it's just a different sounding bass!
  21. I'm glad the neck is rescuable. the string spacing is... odd.... the neck side markers an even stranger choice by someone!
  22. Since I joined basschat that bass was what I expected you to have. I wasn't sure about midlife crisis WOT with his blue limelights and marzc...German polish basses.... but now all is right with the world ✌️
  23. Doesn’t it go black around steel things like screws? And it’s heavy as
  24. If you wanted something built by ESP you could look at Grassroots, Ltd, Eii, Edwards, ESP and Navigator… (that’s before you get into what they build for other people… the idea of building to different price points isn’t that unusual - otherwise a Harley Benton jazz bass is under £100 - why did you spend £750?? Are you telling yourself it’s better than the guy with the £100 bass on the same bill as you? Was that smugness too?
